We have rented at Finnemore's over the years and have had great experiences across-the-board. The value is great and you can get all around the island on extensive bike paths, so take advantage of the opportunity to see lots of nature and enjoy the island. They'll take great care of you and make sure that you are outfitted with the right bike, helmet, and knowledge of the island's trails. They make it so easy by dropping off the bikes at your rental and picking them up after you've gone home. We had an infant and they were able to help us outfit a burley with a car seat strap to make it extra safe. They also rent other equipment and items you might need on your vacation... We were looking for a place for our baby to sleep after our rental did not have a pack and play like it listed, and sure enough, they had pack and plays for a great rate of $40 a week! That was a lot cheaper than other places that we looked to rent a pack and play. The folks here are very friendly and we will be back each time. We visit the island! read more

This is a wonderful bike rental place -- way above the competition. The bikes are of good quality, and the service is outstanding. They delivered two bikes to our vacation rental; but we had forgotten to bring a rack for the car, and wanted to bike on the Sanibel trails, about 7 miles away. Amazingly, they said that we could come in and ride two bikes that they had in the shop, for no additional chage. I can't speak to selection -- they had the bikes we wanted, so we looked no further. read more

My wife and I, now in our 70s, have been wondering whether it's time to get ebikes to continue our love of pedaling. And so we were thrilled to learn that Finnimores has them for rent. We've been dealing with Finnimores for 20-some years. Their prices are the best on the island, their bikes are top quality and stored indoors, their staff is exceptionally informed and helpful, even to repairing bikes that aren't their's. Their ebikes are top-rated Aventon with the safety features we wanted. Our 16-mile ride felt like we'd pedaled just 5. Our 4-hour ride (including a lunch break) ate just 3% of the batteries. So, thanks to Joe and the gang at Finnimores, we are converts. Those guys have never steered us wrong. read more

I saw the good reviews and selected Finnimore's. We rented multi-speed bikes for a whole day for $21 - including locks and helmets. I called the night before to confirm the prices and other details. We worked with the owner when we arrived and he could not have been more customer focused and friendly. He helped us get set up with some newer bikes. They worked well for our 17 mile ride on the nice bike paths of Sanibel. The check-in and return were the easiest of all the places we have rented bikes or other sports gear in the US. No useless liability forms and copies of driver's licenses. Just pay with a credit card and go. Since we were staying off island it was a plus that we could park all day in there lot since parking on Sanibel is a pricey proposition. Highly recommended. read more

The customer service at Finnimore's was really great, but unfortunately the bikes were really junky. I often rent bikes while traveling and these have got to be some of the most worn down bikes that I've seen. They were all super rusty and seemed like they were about to fall apart at any given moment. There is a four hour rental minimum which I thought was a bit high, but luckily the price is pretty low and is something like 11 bucks (as it should be for the quality of bike). We only biked for an hour or so because the weather was bad, but I'd imagine it being tough to bike for 4 hours on the bikes we had anyways. read more

I was driving on San-Cap Road when a Finnimore's truck came screaming past several cars behind me, doing at least 50mph, passing in a no-passing zone. I was about to make a left turn onto a side road and luckily I looked into the rearview mirror, just in time to avoid a major multi-car accident. I would have been t-boned, taking out several cars around me. (Usually your focus is on the oncoming traffic, not some crazy driver speeding in the opposite lane from behind.) I contacted Finnimore's, but they never responded to my concerns. So, I guess my takeaway from this experience is why support a company that has no concern for the safety of the community it serves. Spend your dollars elsewhere. read more

Joe saved our entire day! My husband and I each have our own bikes, but our friends decided to rent a couple from Finnimores. 7 miles down the trail my personal bike ended up with a flat. We called Joe and not only did he come pick up the bike with the flat, he dropped off one of Finnimores. He even offered to fix mine while we were out. We had an amazing rest of the day and came back to my bike fully repaired. This was not something that they had to do, considering it wasn't even a Finnimores bike with the flat, but he was so kind and helpful!! Highly recommend! This place has truly good hearted people! Sanibel Island has miles and miles of paved bike paths and depending on your destination (and sometimes time of year due to traffic), they can be the most efficient way to get around the island! Finnimore's Cycle Shop is a great option when it comes to renting a bike (or kayak, paddleboard, beach equipment, etc.). Seemingly the cheapest on the island, I was able to rent a single-speed bike for the whole week for $30. Worth it!! Centrally located on the island and somewhat hidden behind Winds, I approached the storefront and was immediately greeted by an employee who was working with a few bikes outside the shop. Friendly, quick, and easy to work with... my friend and I were set up with bikes in no time. The bikes came with a basket on the front and a bell on the handle. After taking a spin around the parking lot to be sure we were comfortable, we were directed inside to complete the transaction. We received a bike lock and scheduled a pick-up from our condo at the end of the week. At the end of the week, if I could change anything it would be some upgrades to the bike itself. A second lock would have been nice as well as my friend and I were not always riding together. One of the bells didn't work, the baskets were a bit dented up, and my bike was a bit squeaky but otherwise, they performed well and were a great asset to have during the week. Staffs very nice, knowledgeable of the area. Decided to rent half a day but ended up renting it the whole day. It was a nice bike around the island stopping by for snacks and beach. The bike seat is adjustable and comfortable and even if it looks old , it was easy to pedal and glides smoothly. No need to pay for parking in beach too. And oh - they gave us a lock for the bikes. A truly disappointing experience. My sister had recommended this place and with all the good reviews I had high hopes. I called his morning to get the lay of the land and asked what size paddle boards they had. The woman answering the phone was polite and advised they had 12'4" sups. Great, I thought as I wanted a 12' at least. When I showed up, they advised they actually only have 11' boards. Ok, smaller than I wanted for open water but I'm flexible so ok. But the board was beat to hell and water logged. It must have weighed 70lbs. No joke. It was barely buoyant with my 6'1", 210 lbs on it. I also took stock of their bike rental fleet. Rusty orange chains and obviously poorly maintained. Between the sad state of the equipment and all the pro trump propaganda I won't be back. read more

This place is AWESOME! The owners actually work this place every day. We were trying to get pricing and they have THE BEST prices on the island especially if your staying here for a month or longer. Two brothers own it and were so sweet to my kids. They gave them free popsicles and told them to come back anytime and grab more. They have wonderful customer service. I see them busting it everyday when we ride by with a smile on their faces. They even fixed a flat tire on a bike we were riding that wasn't theirs. Please go here above any other bike place on the island. They will beat any competition pricing and better than that they will treat you with respect and go out of their way to get you on the best bike for you! read more

Seriously in Sanibel where everything is so over priced this place was down to earth and ready to serve your bicycle needs which are great on this mostly cycled island. Don't overpay. There are two bike rental shops on the island. Finnimore's is unfortunately not the first one that you see once you are on the island. With that they are a little bit further, but they are actually more central. The bikes they had were newer, and they had the one that i wanted which was three wheels. I wanted one with a bigger basket for beach stuff and my my dog. They had that and it was an exceptional price. I know I spent a lot less at Finnimore's than I would at the other place. We paid for 4 hours from the afternoon time. They close at 4, and they said that we can return the bikes as long as it is before dusk bc it gets dark. You drop your keys in the key box and leave the bikes locked together in front. So perfect an easy. Glad we went with them. We had a lot of fun. read more
