We rented 2 Multi speed bikes. The bikes overall worked fine. We appreciated that they had baskets on the front. The rental and return process were very quick and simple. For a 4 hr block for our 2 bikes it was around $30. This made for a fun and cheap way to enjoy the island and get around. They do have maps you can take with points of interest and ideas for routes. Overall I'd recommend. You can park your vehicle and leave it on site for the day. read more

We really enjoyed exploring the island by bike and Billy's made renting very easy and affordable. They are right off Periwinkle which made it easy to get to and convenient to jump right on the trail. We are very novice riders with two young kids. There were plenty of bikes available when we arrived around 9am for a daily rental and they were able to easily accommodate all of us with different types of bikes. My reason for the lower stars is the overall maintenance of the bikes. It seemed that daily rentals got the bikes most in need of significant maintenance. Gears, hand breaks, chains, and tires in need of maintenanace on all bikes. A little tune up would make all the difference in the experience. read more

I was not impressed with the bikes at Billy's. I opted for Hybrid bike and received a bike with hard to change gears. I had to keep tightening the seat. I do not feel these bikes are well maintained, I highly recommend a "test ride" and tightening prior to renting. I am an avid cyclist with a road bike and a hybrid, so I might be picker than most. But I felt the bikes of all 3 of renting were in safe- loose seat, breaks, properly inflated tires, etc.. I did mention when i returned and got a we let them know response. read more

Everything was great with our rental experience until we returned the two bikes. We apparently rode past (by 2 feet) when we met Iassac. He explained that we passed the rack and to leave the bikes there. He rolled his eyes and ended his sentence with a disgustiged sigh. His response honestly left me shocked. We took the tags off the bikes (which had our names on them) and went to walk in to return them and let them know we had returned them. Iassac once again approached us and started off with another eye roll and disgusting sigh. I explained that none of that was necessary and simply had a question. We did walk up, and I spoke with an elderly gentleman who claimed to be the manager. I explained our experience, and all he could do was smile with no response. What a joke!!! My review is for Billy himself. I met Billy today, I wish I didnt.. evidrntly, the only thing he really cares about is your money. Billy's Rentals is the best! If you are staying on Sanibel Island I highly recommend renting a bike at Billy's and cycle the two mile treck along Periwinkle to the lighthouse on the beach. If four miles is too far of a ride you can always stop by one of the restaurants along the bike paths and have lunch if you need to take a break. My husband and I like to rent the dorky looking Surrey Bike with the umbrella awning and ride it to the lighthouse. I imagine we are quite a comical sight on this bike since you usually only see senior citizens riding these bikes! We usually argue who is or is not pedalling their fair share throughout the ride, but renting a surrey bike is always the highlight of visiting Sanibel Island! read more

my only experience with this company was when one of their vehicles, a small white truck. Aggressively tailgated my wife and I the full length of Captiva. The driver was so close that several times he almost hit us when traffic slowed. We were in a long line of cars but for some reason this employee believed that nearly ramming us would somehow speed up traffic. I eventually pulled over so he could pass because I was certain he was going to hit us. Very unprofessional and dangerous. read more

The Segway Tour with John was excellent. He has been a resident of Sanibel since he was a child, and this gives his tour that extra special quality no one can match. John shared tidbits about the history of the island, interesting plants and trees, beaches, animals, and so much more. Riding a Segway is so much fun. John will make sure each member of your group feels safe and confident in her ability to use the Segway before you leave the parking lot. It is an excellent trip for families with teenagers like us. Or anyone who weighs at least 100 pounds. You will not regret the expense--best experience so far! Rented a couple of fabulous little Schwinn motor-scooters here last weekend! The prices were pretty good compared to other area rental companies. It was 50 bucks per scooter for an all day rental. We recieved another quote from a place that was 90 bucks for two hours. So definitely a better buy! They require a $250 deposit per scooter - basically they authorize the amount but don't charge it. The scooters were in great condition and the rental process was quick and painless! It was my first time on a scooter and they gave me a quick 10 minute lesson, which was sufficient enough to figure the thing out. They also rent out bikes of all sizes, segways and beach equipment. read more

We used Billy's Rentals for our stay in Sanibel last year (Summer of '12). We are going back, and have decided to use them again, for a week. The things we liked? First, if you reserve online, there is a 5% discount. Second-convenience..they will deliver directly to wherever you are staying. They are really reasonable, the bikes are in great shape...and, best of all, they have really large frame bikes (25") for men. The Man I Am Married To stands 6-4, so this is a great perk. The bikes come with locks and have baskets mounted as well. They rent multi-speed and one speed coaster bikes. They also rent segways, surreys (I tease TM about renting one), tandems, and all kinds of accessories if you want to have your little one tag along. read more

Very happy with my bike rental from Billy's! When we got to Sanibel, I couldn't believe there are *other* bike rentals, since Billy's is the only one I saw immediately online. Making a reservation is a breeze on their website. You can also easily browse the huge variety of bikes they have and the various prices. Since we were staying for a week, I decided to go with a 3 day rental. They left the bike right outside the parking spot for our unit. Ryan, our Segway guide and instructor was excellent! He made sure everyone felt comfortable and competent operating their Segways. He watched over us like a mother duck, making sure we were safe and accounted for. Ryan told about island history, pointed out interesting flora and fauna and entertained us with anecdotes from his journeys. By the end of the trip, Ryan felt like family and I feel so competent on my Segway I want to buy one to take home. Treat yourself to this experience. You deserve it. love that they love what they do... i could just hang out at this shop all day. the smiles and friendly convo are contagious - the staff is so friendly that it rubs off on all that step foot on the property. we rented 2 bikes - one with a bike trailer for our 2-year old. no complaints. one of the seat straps came undone on the trailer while on the way back and we remembered them saying "we come to you" if anything goes wrong. we were so close that i just biked close enough to my son to make sure he was safe. can't wait to go back and pay them a visit! read more
