It was first time trying a taper on myself and Marias by barber killed it! First impressions matter, and I told Marias, I'm never trusting anyone else to a taper on my hair except for him. I had an overall great experience for the moment I arrived. Ashly welcomed me and offered me a drink of my choice (Corona). I was a few minutes early and sat in the waiting area enjoying me beer. Israel came out shortly, introduced himself and took me back to his chair. Israel was very professional and receptive of what I wanted. The highlight of my experience was after my cut when Israel washed my hair he made sure no water got into my ears. This may sound lame to most but I wear hearing aids, so I did not have to dry out my ears in order to put them back in. Also, after I paid for my services, I forgot to pick up the beard balm that Israel used. I told Ashly I needed to buy the beard balm. She handed me the product and told me it was on them for being a first time customer. That on top of the $10 discount was a pleasant surprise. My only negative would have to be the price. $90 for a haircut and beard trim seems to be a bit much. I knew cost before going but still wanted to test out the experience. read more

Nope! Still haven't identified that one person to cut my hair...The place is a nice upscale male oriented barber shop offering beer and soda. My barber didn't listen and he didn't ask questions as he proceeded. I said I wanted a "fade" and was doubted when I said "0 or .5" (at 57, I think I know what number by now). I can't help but think that as my hair was being cut, the hairs that fell on my face were brushed off maybe 3x (in spite of me wiping them away at least 5x). I was never asked if I use gel (I don't), a "hair finishing spray" (I don't) and then never asked if I blew dry my hair (LOL, not since HS, 40 years ago) That hair dryer could have bern used to blow the hair off of my face. My one ear was nicked w/ the trimmers. My barber wanted to charge me full price, $60. I told him I was a first-timer and a $10 credit was supposed to be applied. When I made the appt, I wasn't expecting the $10 "first-time" discount. I asked over the fon if I can combine my $20 Nift discount with the first-timer's", "Sure, no problem.", I was told. The barber had never processed a Nift coupon before. He studied it and studied it. He took my fon to his side of the cashier's desk and scrolled through Nift's website over and over. he def was perplexed. Finally, he said, "that'll be $40." At this point I was getting frustrated. I mentioned that I had clarified that it was okay to combine the two offers. His response, "I'm not gonna argue over $10". I wasn't surprised at his very typical "Vegas" response. I couldn't wait to get out, mess up my "hair don't". I looked like Gossamer from Bugs Bunny. I don't believe in "not tipping". The $7 I left def. should have sent a message that I wasn't happy.
