I agree with some of the other reviews in that Fiori has the potential to be much better, but I may have just dined in at a bad time. The entire staff was very friendly, but it felt like 5-10 min went by without our waiter coming by (including at least 10 min for our drinks to come after we ordered them). Each member of the staff was apologetic whenever it came to it, but still. The overall vibe was nice in that it felt like a more comforting neighborhood restaurant than similar restaurants in the Montrose area. The food was pretty good overall, but some still had their issues. The Ricotta Fritta app had a nice mix of textures with the crunchy breading and soft filling, but the dish as a whole ate fairly dry (tomatoes couldn't save the dish alone). The main courses came with mixed results to an extent. The Risotto Verdure e Capesante was very tasty and easily my favorite dish of the night, while the Cacio e Pepe was good but a little too peppery and not nearly as cheese-forward as one would expect. Went here last Sunday afternoon and it was a huge disappointment! The overpriced food was below average, no better than a frozen entree I'd buy at a grocery store! The server was friendly, but simply not all that smart! There was a family sitting behind us with kids who simply would not stop screaming & crying! The parents did absolutely nothing, and the staff completely ignored it probably because the family was black! No TV at the bar to watch sports that on! Even the high priced steakhouses have TV's at the bar! When I left a person's dog on the patio annoyingly barked and lunged at me! Dogs should NOT be allowed in the patio seating! Went for the first time yesterday and had a great experience! Our servers name was Albert and he was amazing! He was very informative, clean, and his attitude was very sweet. I've worked for a few Italian chefs/restaurants so it was nice to have a server who knew/enjoyed talking about the cuisine and wines they offered. He was very well versed on different dishes, the flavor profiles (wines/dishes), pronunciation of the dishes was spot-on, and he knew the history of certain dishes in-house and ones they didn't offer as well. *Would highly recommend him as a server of choice* As for the food it was delicious! We had the Burrata Fritta, Carbonara, and the Tagliolini al prosciutto di Parma. They were all very well executed, lots of flavor points, fresh and hot, also very well presented. They also have live music which was nice for a change compared to radio music. Worst experience for a restaurant. Went for Vale tune. Prepaid and reserved 3 weeks in advanced. Had to wait 1 hours to be seated. After 45 min we got water served. Wine was already paid and selected and we never got it. After 1 hours waiting for service we left. Chef didn't care about people leaving. Several table went out minutes before the food were served. Worst experience in a restaurant in Houston. PS, the barman was drinking while working as week and giving away free food from the appetizers that people left behind. Horrible. read more

Big big fan of Fiori it's a dream of a place with a full bar, beautiful flowers and great fresh Italian food! The Bruschetta Pomodoro Rucola was so nice and bright and a great starter for the meal. Their ravioli di magro e mozzarella was just amazing it tasted so fresh and light I just wish there were a few more on the plate. The Branzino alla griglia was cooked perfectly and something I look forward to having again with my next visit. Their Carote artists should not be over looked at all. I would highly recommend it as I continuously think about it and try to recreate it at home. The carrots are just the perfect sweetness and texture and the olive oil just makes it all so delicious. I as well have bought flowers there and they have such a great selection!! I included some photos of that. The bar I have not explored greatly but I did try their limoncello flight and found out the bartender made some of them himself!! They were delicious! Fiori is an authentic Italian restaurant. The chef is amazing. His homemade pasta tastes precisely like in Rome (I've just spent a few weeks there for a conference). If you want healthy and excellent food, Fiori is among the best places in Houston. The atmosphere is incredible, very refined, and cozy. The restaurant has a fantastic patio, which, in the evening, looks like heaven. Further, they also sell flowers and plants, which can decorate tables, especially for groups or special events. I suggest any appetizer, any pasta (although cacio e pepe and carbonara are my favorite), and the octopus! Finally, let's remember the dessert, which is divine, especially the tiramisu. Tables and menu were very dirty. We ordered the mussels, they were very watery and undercooked, the worst I ever had , I ordered pasta with sausage. No sausage whatsoever, the pasta looked disgustingly red.Service was average. Lexi was attentive but nothing above what it is expected. They have tables on the patio and you can smell the sewer . I saw how they keep offering that table to 3-4 patrons and they keep moving as we did because of the smell. Bread was ok , but you have to ask for it and they charge you 3.50 for 3 slices of sourdough. With so many options to go in the area it was bad luck for us that we ended up eating there. We visited Fiori in August and they had no A/C on in the restaurant. I think restaurants should close if their AC is broken because it's houston in August. I asked the hostess if they could turn on the window unit and she said yes and then never turned it on. My boyfriend and I were there for our anniversary dinner and we were sweating. There was only 2 servers for the whole upstairs section so we were waiting on service a lot. The food was mediocre and I couldn't drink the cocktails because they were so sugary. Pretty disappointed:/ The food is overpriced for the quality. The ambiance is nice (presumably when there is A/C) but that's about it. read more

The food here was not good at all. The plates were all unseasoned, the people in my party that got seafood said it was rotten and had to send it back. We went for a birthday so many people tried many dishes and none were well cooked. The only thing the place has going is the decor. The restaurant was completely empty other than us on a Friday night which is a red flag! The waitress kept pushing us to buy alcohol every time she came to the table even after we told her we did not want any. Inside, the layout is poor and good tables are rare. You are likely sitting too close to another table or right along the main walking path of the staff. The food is good, but not outstanding even though it's priced that way. The staff is young and we saw an argument in the open. Service here suffers, and if you sit at the bar they aren't sure what to do with you. Parking is poor so you have to valet. The bones might be here for something special, or it might be better served as a florist shop. read more

The good: ambience is good here. The inside is cute, it could be a good spot. It's small, but could be intimate and cozy. The location is good as well. It is in Montrose and easy to get to if you live close. We had reservations for Christmas Day but had to change them (due to a movie running late) but they happily accommodated. We were concerned but it was easy and painless and they were understanding. The not so good: We went on Christmas Day and expected a bit of a crowd. It was actually not busy at all - which made us assume the service would be better than expected. It was not. I guess they had multiple servers across all the tables. The first server was not friendly. They took a lot of time to come back and forth to the table. The other server was more attentive and very friendly but couldn't really help the overall vibe since the initial experience wasn't great and she just randomly popped in. We expected better service considering the fact that there weren't more than 3 tables. We ordered two cocktails to start, one was a Negroni (which is a favorite of ours). It came out and was not good at all. The ratio wasn't right and it just didn't taste like a classic Negroni should. No big deal (it happens) but at $15 I did ask them to switch it for something else. The server was apologetic and was more than happy to switch it out. However, the bartender came to the table after hearing it. The first thing he asked was "have you ever had a Negroni before?" And then told us about how his brother loves them and has never complained. Then he suggested the Negroni wasn't good bc "we didn't specify the gin we wanted". It wasn't about the gin. It just wasn't made well (again which is fine - it's not their specialty) but to come over and get defensive or question if we ever had one seems a bit rude and unnecessary. It was condescending. It felt like he was suggesting we didn't know what the drink was more than he didn't know how to make one. It was awkward. He talked too much and didn't seem interested in any real feedback. The food was fine. One dish was the Branzino and it was fine. We didn't finish it because it did lack flavor but the fish and pasta were cooked great. We ate the fish and left the pasta because of flavor. The other dish was lasagna - it was good, not great, but because we didn't finish the branzino we shared the lasagna dish. At this price point I'd suggest other places. It's not bad but we spent $160 after tip (with the drinks) and didn't finish two complete meals. We ended up getting home still hungry and looked on UberEats for delivery options. read more

Went here for date night. It was a beautiful quaint location, need us feel like it was Italian with flower shop at the entrance. The wine selection was short so was the menu. But they recently opened and it's a pandemic so I won't blame them. The food proportions were very small (that was one drawback) and pricey (the other drawback). For grad students I wouldn't go here again. But that's something on me. Not the location. If you can afford it and want Italian food, I'd highly recommend it. My suggestion for the place would be adding pictures of the food items on their website, Instagram or yelp so people who aren't used to the menu know that each food is. This place isn't bad, but it's definitely not great. Came here on a Saturday evening for a small get together of about 7 people. I was excited to try this place. The setting is nice, especially the patio area. We were seated on the downstairs patio. For a Saturday night it was quiet. Our group ordered a variety of appetizers. Nothing was very special about any of them. My friend said it was the worst order of mussels she's had, they were in a bowl but the bottom was filled with bread, which got mushy and soggy with the sauce and seems like it's there just to give the appearance of a larger portion. As large groups tend to do, we took our time ordering entrées. The server was really pushing us to order, at about 9:30p. We were waiting for 2 guests who were in the restroom. As we were waiting the chef even came out to look at our table. I then noticed we were the last table that needed to order. I understand where the staff is coming from, I'm sure the wanted to close the kitchen, but as a new restaurant I do feel like it's important to be accommodating. I ordered scallop risotto. It was painfully underwhelming. Not bad-- just not good. They ran out of a few dishes by the time we were ordering. Also, their alcohol is quite limited. They don't have tequila. Bare in mind, this was opening night for them, so I'll cut them some slack. Everyone was very nice, and our waiter, Owen, was never hovering (which I appreciate). Restaurant itself is really nice decorated, lots of plants around. The food did take a while, but that's where the slack comes in (and food temperature). I ordered a Burrata Fritta as an appetizer. It was really good, basically cheese that's deep fried. Only issue was it could of been a little bit more warm, but sauce and cheese was delicious. For my main course I ordered the Beef Tenderloin, it was amazing, no complaints. Perfectly seasoned! It came with a side salad, the dressing was on the salty side (just a heads up). The table also ordered the Lamb which came with a few sides (potatoes, carrots), it was good but also could of been warmer. Tried the Vanilla Gelato for dessert...delicious! I did see two diminished banana trees inside the restaurant, but no flowers anywhere. The outside railing needed maintenance & depleted the upscale ambience. The menu is voluminous, but the prices don't justify the quality of the food. I had scallops on a bed of risotto. The risotto was wet, not flavorful NOR hot. The four scallops, however, were cooked just right. My friends had the pasta carbonara, & pasta pesto, both bland. Finally, the two gelatos, vanilla & pistachio, were just right & served with a tiny ice cream cone offset to the side in ruffly crystal dishes. The restaurant got those just right. My friends had alcoholic beverages, a bourbon drink with bitters that was served in interesting glasses & a mocktail mule, served in a copper cup. They thought those were interesting. All in all, I would not recommend this restaurant: entrees between 27$ & $70 were disappointingly bland & not satisfying. We had no appetizers nor salad. read more

12-15-2022 Opening up my napkin with utensils to a fork that has remnants of the last customer, should have been an indication. But It happens. In retrospect, it was definitely like Lady Gaga's song "Sine from Above". A party of 3, my wife and I ordered lasagna and vegetarian gluten free pasta with a pear salad. Our friend ordered salad with prosciutto and a side of Brussels sprouts. The well-trained waiter recapped the order and we were set. Pretty simple. Unfortunately, it went downhill quick. I asked for new clean utensils at least 3 times. Emptied glass of tea weren't refilled. The waiter didn't, as with most higher end restaurants, inquire if we wanted crushed pepper or parmesan on our $28 (a piece) pasta entrees. Those all can be calked up to under-staffed covid. But when the ordered pear salad never arrived, the Brussels sprouts were apparently not available (which we were told when the food arrived) and option was carrots that go well with a salad, the prosciutto on the salad was clearly old as it had turned black; and the lasagna had been so re-over cooked in the microwave such that the bottom layer was hard as a rock that I couldn't even cut it with my knife let alone my fork. The chef agreed that the lasagna was a mess without argument. In summary, I may have been just a bad day for the cook and staff. I wasn't going to spend $150+ to have this bad service or lack of quality of food regardless of covid excuses. read more

My boyfriend booked Fiori for Valentine's Day. I was really excited because he kept it a surprise, and I'd never been here before. The space itself is beautiful; the "floral boutique" really brings out the light and beauty of the restaurant and adds such a nice aesthetic. Definitely makes for a great romantic ambience, and I can see it being a beautiful space for brunch as well. However, everything else was a little lackluster in my opinion. 1. They do not pay for valet service, so there is absolutely 0 designated parking for Fiori. You can park in the neighborhoods behind the restaurant, but even that can be challenging. During certain hours, you can also park in the Chase bank parking lot, but again, it fills up fast. 2. I'm not sure if it was because of Valentine's day, but I felt like the food was a little undercooked and rushed. - Bruschetta: I wish the bread came out more toasted and with more flavor to it; it was a piece of cold bread with a bunch of tomatoes on top and some olive oil ($10) - Prawn pasta (~$30): The prawns were cooked well, and the flavor of the dish was light and refreshing. However, the pasta was too hard and not very chewy. - Scallop Risotto (~$30): The scallops themselves were delicious, however, the risotto was difficult to chew and probably needed a few more minutes to cook.
