If you are looking for good pictures, then this is the place for you. Otherwise, there is nothing else good here. Overpriced dishes that aren't that tasty and the service was sub part. Not a place I would go back to.

First time at this charming Montrose eatery... from greeting to goodbye, service was warm, welcoming, and attentive. My server was efficient and very friendly, and she timed each dish's arrival perfectly. The restaurant's decor is a clean, comfortable cottage chic, featuring inviting lighting and large picture windows. The ambiance alone warrants a return visit. I opted for the tasting menu and was pleased for the most part. The crostini was truly the perfect appetizer bite: crisp sourdough, creamy mozzarella, and a really good quality prosciutto. The Amatriciana pasta dish quelled my craving for zesty, comforting carbs. What should have been the highlight of the meal was the one disappointment... the ribeye. The meat's flavor was pretty good, but texturally, it was odd... a tad rubbery. Also, the mass of shoestring potatoes as the starch had me scratching my head. They were nearly impossible to eat with my fork and, as you can see from the photo, overtook the platter. ...but I'd like to return to try more of the menu ;)

Stunning outdoor upstairs environment, perfect for our holiday party (Physicians & Staff). The owner & servers were so accommodating and generous. Some of our team has been to Italy/Rome and said it was just as good and possibly better than what they'd eaten there. A few of us went to visit Fiori separately with our significant others & the experience was the same. Tasty beautiful food & a great experience. I feel this is a little piece of Italy in Houston and I would recommend to genuinely anyone I know to go visit It's truly a little gem of a restaurant. Highly recommend for an upscale food experience but casual/cozy date night. Just beautiful!

A special treat with this restaurant is that it's also a flower shop. So if you have a date coming up and would like to make your date feel special, you can buy a beautiful bouquet beforehand and it will be at your table as a happy surprise for your date! Highly recommend the pastas here and getting the homemade tiramisu for dessert, they will not disappoint !

    Croissant basket Prosciutto sandwich

Came here on a Saturday and it was pretty empty. Super cute interior with lots of plants. We ordered the croissant basket and prosciutto sandwich. The basket was just 2 croissant which was disappointing considering it was $18. Sandwich was good but the potatoes were a bit bland. Croissant was delicious along with the butter and jam but wish we got at least 3. Would love to come back and try their dinner menu!

UPDATE ON 05/14/2025: THE HOUSTON HEALTH DEPARTMENT CONDUCTED AN INVESTIGATION, AND THE FINDINGS ARE NOW ATTACHED AS WELL! On Sunday, May 11, 2025, our family of 14 adults & 6 underage kids went to eat at FIORI Restaurant for my mother's birthday. Since then, 11 of us (6 adults & 5 kids; youngest being 1 year old) now have food poisoning symptoms (projectile vomiting, chills, muscle pain, fever, & diarrhea). Some started noticing symptoms immediately, and some developed overnight between Sunday and Monday. We tried contacting the restaurant immediately (Sunday night), but the owner, Chef Alessio Vitale, refused to speak to us; their "excuse" was that he had already left the restaurant. It wasn't until Monday, May 12th at 2:28 PM that we finally received a generic reply from him, taking NO responsibility whatsoever. Our bill totaled a ridiculous almost $1,800, and we are now left dealing with food poisoning, some of us still can't return to work or school, and some now have medical bills from visiting the doctors, which was confirmed as food poisoning by several doctors. Aside from the above, I want to also emphasize how horribly we were treated during our reservation. We made this reservation on April 24, 2025, with ample time for the restaurant to be prepared for our large party. I made this reservation DIRECTLY with the owner to ensure my mother's birthday goes perfectly. Our reservation was set at 3:00 PM, but upon arriving, we had to wait an additional 20 minutes for our table to be set as it was not ready. When we arrived, it was drizzling rain outside, and they proceeded to put our whole family in their upstairs outdoor patio despite the owner assuring me weeks prior that if there was bad weather, they would make sure we would get an inside table. After expressing our concern about being in the drizzling rain with small children and elders, they wanted to place us inside but split our group into different parts of the restaurant. After being out in the rain for about 30 minutes, the weather cleared up and we decided just to keep the table. Our server took about 45 minutes to take our drink orders, yes, our drinks; we received our entree meals 2 hours later. But they did not provide us with silverware or napkins until we requested them repeatedly. We were VERY understanding given the fact that it was Mother's Day but overall, it seemed like they left us outside on purpose with no intention even to bother checking in on us. Our waiter was completely RUDE; We found ourselves asking for the same things repeatedly and at one point she just stopped showing up to our table until we demanded the check. Due to them messing up our orders MULTIPLE times and missing several items they offered us a sorry 10% discount but that obviously just proved that they were neglecting our table, and they were aware of doing it. The 10% discount does NOT justify our food being uncooked, cold and clearly unsafe to eat. Now, two days later, we are dealing with much greater issues with food poisoning in our family. We hope that everyone takes this review seriously, as we don't want anyone else to fall victim to this restaurant's negligence in keeping a safe kitchen & serving completely unsafe food. I have attached SOME of the many evidence we have, as well as a copy of the receipt for proof of our visit. Everything is time-stamped as proof for everyone. As mentioned, our reservation was at 3:00 PM. You can see from the receipt that our order wasn't placed until 4:08 PM, and we did not get the check until 6:26 PM. We were there for a total of almost 4 hours due to poor and slow service...ridiculous! A message to Chef Alessio Vitale; you can try to justify my review just like you try and justify other bad but HONEST reviews but please be reminded that this is a very serious matter that is now being investigated by multiple outlets and we have plenty of evidence proving all of the above. People's health is no joke, especially when it involves small children. Thank you for ruining my very first Mother's Day and my mother's birthday! To Frain Gutierrez, the Valet, thank you for being the ONLY helpful person at this restaurant. Thank you for assisting my 87-year-old grandma up the steps, as no other staff from the restaurant offered to help and thank you for helping me unload our stuff from our car as you saw us struggling with a small child. Overall, we wish this establishment the very best for what's to come for their business after our traumatizing experience.

    Perfect Salmon and salad!

I was here for an engagement dinner and by the end of the night felt like we were friends with the staff and the chef. Everybody was so attentive and nice. The restaurant itself is very clean and charming and overlooks Montrose. They have a patio right by the sidewalk and there is an upstairs area which I assume is for larger parties. Of course, their food and drinks are great too. I had the Salmon which was cooked perfectly and much better than the salmon I've been cooking up on the old air fryer at home! Seriously though, some people judge a restaurant by their steaks but I think cooking salmon perfectly is a whole other level of talent. Parking kind of sucked on a Saturday night but I saw there was valet and apparently the Chase lot is open for use as well, but might want to double check. I found street parking one street over.

I really love this place for authentic Italian food. I took my friend here and he's from Italy and he was taking pictures and showing them to his mom. I really like their prosciutto and cheese appetizer. On Tuesdays you can get a spaghetti trio, which is really great I like how they make their noodles al dente Def try the Nduja risotto and the short rib ravioli (amazing) Nduja is a spicy sausage imported from Italy. I personally love the vibe inside it's super quaint, and the service is amazing and warm. It feels like home here. Alessio I'd the chef! He's awesome!

Pretty little welcoming gem from Italy, which was a great find for our Christmas dinner. It has a great vibe and inviting fresh floral decor around. Must say that it has a great potential if it improves its service. Servers were slow but very polite. Perhaps it was over busy for them. Dec 25th was a chilly evening. We booked in advance & were seated by the door, that opened after every few minutes, which was annoying. We requested a different table as it was really cold, but were told nothing was available. We could wait as soon after us few proper tables got available. But seems they didn't care. After seating, it took them 15 minutes to bring water & take our order. We ordered Artisanal sourdough bread with olive oil, Burata pesto, Tagliolini al prosciutto di Parma, Fried lamb chops, Crostini & Carbonara. Some of the things we wanted were already out at 7:30 PM, like chocolate cake, appetizer with avocado & prawns and Tartare di tonno. However, after over an hour they served it to a guest. Not one plate but three plates. Perhaps they were chef/ owners friends. It was lil disappointing as we only wanted one plate. Overall whatever was available was delicious. But if we come back we will make sure to book a table upstairs and will come before 7pm for dinner so we are served what we want. A must try May be on a less busy evening

Very quaint spot. The atmosphere is so lovely and bright. We're here to celebrate by daughter becoming a PhD!! and she knew I love quaint spots and love an early dinner. The waitstaff was very nice and inviting. The cuisine on the other hand, was just ok unfortunately. I like the lasagna, but the risotto was too al dente, My daughter is a vegetarian and always orders risotto, so she knows this dish very well. We sent it back to be cooked more and it just wasn't good. The flavor was bad and It looked like rice pudding. They made her eggplant lasagna and she didn't like it really, but we gladly paid our tab, but won't be returning. The chef came out, but only talked to another table, but as we were leaving, he clearly started talking to our waiter about us. Very tacky and rude. Def NOT returning. We are the most non-problematic people ever and we would rather pay for the food than send it back, but our sweet waitress insisted on making us something else. We still tipped 20%! Fiori is a PASS on food, but the waitstaff was great!

We came to Fiori for a cute date night and it did not disappoint! The flowers lining the walls of the shop were gorgeous and fragrant, and there's personal hand written signs throughout the restaurant that make it feel so cozy. The service here is stellar, both the hostess and the waiter were so sweet and helpful, we couldn't ask for better service. I got an Amaretto Margarita and my fiance got an Old Fashioned. While he was enjoying his drink, the waiter came and gave him another one on the house! We were lucky to come in during Restaurant Week and got to try so many amazing dishes for an affordable price. One thing I would agree with the other reviewers is that the fried lamb chops were quite bland. Otherwise the rest of the meal was amazing, and the kindness of the staff can't be beat. We're excited to come back!

I have to start with the fact that the best thing bout this visit was the live music. Unfortunately, the food is decent but I will never go back to Fiori. The problem I believe it stems from the top by managers not training servers to treat customers equally. It was clear to me that Hispanic costumers were not treated equally as the white customers. When we went to eat at noon for what was supposed to be a special day for my daughter's birthday and my mother and wife's mother's day celebration, the manager was able to make his way around the tables and even help serve but not once did he approach our table. Service was very slow and in two occasions they forgot our drink order. Also my daughter's food came way after they had served our meal. Servers need to know that it does not matter if we are Hispanic, white or black, we will tip for good service but when you receive terrible service your tip will be accordingly. As I tell my staff, it does not matter how good of a doctor I am if patients are not treated right from the beginning, patients will not return. The only reason we went to Fiori's was because my daughter really likes the food but I'm sure we can find another restaurant that will provide better service with quality food.

    Restaurant week menu

My husband and I were craving Italian and stumbled upon this place via yelp. We made a reservation (highly recommended as the place was packed). Located off of busy montrose, but parking was easy with valet. The restaurant runs lean on staffing, so be patient with the team as they are all running around to keep up. The restaurant is very small 2 story old house that has been converted to an open floor plan restaurant, decorated cute, but the noise can get loud at times. We decided to do one tasting experience to try different options, and one Houston restaurant week menu. Note: portions were all very large considering the price, which was very unexpected. We started with bruschetta and burrata. Burrata was delicious... lightly fried warm cheese smothered in pomodoro sauce. Bruschetta was bread loaded with lots of fresh tomatoes. The bread was alittle tough, but overall, good flavor. Next we had the risotto and Cacio e Pepe. The risotto was delicious with a little spice to it. My husband devoured it quickly. My Cacio d Pepe was different than expected from other versions I have had as it was covered in very thick cheese and almost dry. Very rich flavor, alittle too rich for me. Next we had the grilled octopus and ribeye. Octopus was cooked perfect with a rich pesto sauce. Ribeye was pan fried with Italian seasonings and steamed asparagus. We finished the meal with the chocolate cake which was very thick and rich, almost like a fudge, topped with vanilla gelato. Expect dinner to take a solid 2-2.5hrs if you do the tasting experience and don't try to finish every dish to save room for the others.

But this man was working all jobs: helping the hostess when she got super busy, food running, bussing, checking up on all tables, doing the best for everyone. Plus, he was incredibly kind with an amazing smile. Idk what he saw in my partner and I, but he gave us tiramisu on the house. We are not fancy influencers or rich folk, and I feel that was kinda obvious. But I think he did it just to make our date night a lil bit more special. And that kind of effort should be rewarded.

I've had Mimo on my radar for a couple of years, but somehow I never found the right occasion to finally give it a try. Well, celebrating both my birthday and wedding anniversary seemed like a pretty good reason! I must say, Mimo had to fight hard to earn those five stars. The experience was memorable, not necessarily because it was perfect, but because it wasn't. The imperfections, oddly enough, are what made it memorable. Let's start with the menu. There aren't many dishes, which is generally speaking a good sign these days. There's really no excuse not to use fresh ingredients when you're working with a smaller menu. At the same time, I wouldn't say the offerings were particularly adventurous. That said, the quality was definitely there. We started with the Fritter as an appetizer, and it was super delicious. The combination of fried zucchini, corn, and that touch of honey somehow really worked! Then we ordered a pasta dish each, under the common assumption that a pasta dish in most Italian restaurants (including the ones in Italy) is supposed to be filling. Well... no! These were pretty small. I ordered the spaghetti al limone, while my wife went for the gnocchi. Both were good, although the spaghetti were cooked somewhere on the borderline between al dente and chewy. The corn in the gnocchi also felt a little alien, like it didn't really belong there. Still, we couldn't deny that the flavors were good and the ingredients were fresh. Oddly enough, we were still hungry, so we ordered a second dish each: the Pork Milanese for me and the Pesce del Giorno for my wife. And this is where Mimo saved the day! The Pork Milanese, with mortadella and pecorino cheese on top, was delicious. And the polenta that came with my wife's dish was one of the best I've ever had. Interestingly, these dishes were disproportionately larger, more than making up for the minuscule portions of the pasta dishes. So, I guess it all worked out in the end! Another date saver was the service. It was outstanding. Attentive, friendly, and exactly what you would expect from a restaurant trying to create a special experience. Then came dessert: the Zeppole. It was good, but nothing particularly special. To me, it tasted like churros made with a dough that incorporated ricotta. Not bad at all, just not something I'll be dreaming about later. And that was our experience at Mimo! I think the review probably benefited from the fact that I was there celebrating a special occasion. It was a somewhat strange experience, with some ups and downs, but we genuinely enjoyed it. Would I be back? Possibly... Four stars stretched to five? Yeah... FIVE Stars!

Mimo's offers a great selection of Italian inspired apps, three well appointed pizzas, a few varied and surprising options for pasta dishes, and some mains. Items we tried: Pane - delicious Roasted Carrot Pizza - AMAZING, A little spicy, but definitely something we would order again. Pastas we ordered initially came out cold - our incredible waiter immediately corrected the issue. But from a flavor profile - Pansotti - sooooo delicious. You'd never guess that it was a vegetarian option - the mushrooms were so meaty. The delicate pouches with the spinach and ricotta were heavenly. Pappardelle - The lamb braised sauce had a depth of flavor that could rival any restaurant in Italy. My only tiny hope was that the pasta would have been served aldente, it was a little overcooked. But to each his own. Overall - really great. Would recommend. This would be great for a weeknight dinner or an off the beaten path date night.

I need to figure out what slicer and oil they use because I can never get mine this thin and crispy. We then Arugula and Avocado salad, which was light and refreshing. Then onto the Cacio e Pepe Arancini. Cacio e Pepe is my favorite pasta, so I was a little disappointed they don't have it on the menu as a dish itself, but the arancini was delicious! For mains, my husband had the salmon. We ordered it medium and it came more well done, however, it was perfectly crispy on the outside and still moist in the center. Very tasty. I had the ricotta cavatelli, which might be the best pasta I've ever had. The shrimp were so plump and fresh. There was plenty of crab throughout. And the flavor had the perfect amount of salt and spice. My husband, who isn't a pasta person loved it too. It's a nice open space and service was friendly. We will definitely return to try more things.

I especially enjoyed the pinto bean appetizer and the lasagna that was baked, resembling a pizza but with a lasagna bottom. Loved the mood of the restaurant and appreciated the olive oil ice cream they got us for my friend's birthday.

We arrived on a Friday evening during Happy Hour (HH) around 5:30pm. Maurizio stopped by to introduce himself and let us know that he would ensure we were taken care of. As stated above, it was happy hour during our time there but we ordered from allllll the menus haha! Great deal! The experience was great, there were many waiters and waitresses stopping by the table to check in on us. The food was fresh, flavorful, and piping hot! The views are lovely and the ambiance is a combination of chill, chic, and relaxing. Very vibey and spacious place. The restrooms are really nice as well and they were clean and stocked. Aperitivo is definitely on my list of places to return to, especially for happy hour. It's worth it to check this place out!

We ordered so many things and it's hard to believe how everything was almost worse than the item before it. Cocktail? Awful and not even drinkable. The burger? Tasted like meatloaf from a diner in the middle of nowhere. The cappuccino? Cold and not strong The tart? Decent but not the best. Both my friend and I agreed we'd never go back and haven't had such a poor quality meal in awhile. As for service, I'll note that the server was so nice and was new. Had she not have mentioned she was new, that would be my next paragraph of notes. Don't be fooled by the online aesthetic- save your time and money and go literally anywhere else.

We arrived at the restaurant at noon and it was completely empty - but in all fairness they only opened at 11. We were a party of 6 and all ordered something different. I chose the 25th Street Pasta which was very unique & very delicious. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their selected items. The portions were on the larger side in my opinion but not extreme. The bread & oil they serve was also amazing. Sadly we were all too stuffed to try desert but certainly will next time. This is definitely a "don't judge the place by the location" because it was a delicious dining experience. Our server was attentive & accommodating, the prices were very reasonable for the portion size, incredible quality and freshness. If you are looking for a new fav spot don't miss this one.

We ordered the tiramisu for dessert, and nowhere on the menu did it mention that it was served with a slice of kiwi hidden underneath the whipped cream. I'm allergic to kiwi, and because it was completely covered, I didn't realize it was there until after I had already taken a bite. I brought this to our server's attention, not because I was looking for a discount or anything free, but simply because I wanted the staff to be aware so this wouldn't happen to another customer with a food allergy. Instead, the first response I received was asking if I had read the menu, which I had. Unfortunately, the menu never mentioned kiwi being part of the dessert. What really bothered me was overhearing the conversation afterward. Our server spoke with another staff member a few booths away, and I heard comments along the lines of, "Well, he should've mentioned his allergy," and "He should've asked." It felt like the responsibility was being placed entirely on me rather than acknowledging that an undisclosed ingredient had been served. I understand that customers with allergies should communicate them whenever possible, but I also think restaurants have a responsibility to disclose ingredients that aren't typically expected, especially when they're hidden in the presentation. I've had tiramisu many times and have never encountered one served with kiwi tucked beneath whipped cream. Again, the food itself was good, and this review isn't about trying to get compensation. I genuinely wanted to help prevent a similar situation for someone else. Unfortunately, the way my concern was handled left me feeling dismissed and caused me to lose confidence in the restaurant's approach to food allergies.
