Pros: The pizza was good. Cons: service and wait time. We ordered our pizza at 5:52. They told us 40 min. We got there in 45 min. It wasn't ready. I was told 'seven minutes' and then after 15 more minutes, I asked if they were making our pizzas now. (Because I could see them looking chaotic and making our pizzas based on the toppings). Only then was I told, "yes. Something happened. They were made but they think someone took them. They were making them right away and they would be just a few more minutes." The pizzas were ready at 7:16. In that time, only one server asked me if I would like a drink while I waited. Once they were finished, they were each opened for me by the cook to make sure that they all looked good. I appreciated that. No communication and we paid full price and I left a cash tip. I've been here before and service is always lacking a bit and unorganized but this visit was crazy. read more

New to Chillicothe, this was our first pizza date in town. Love that it's on Paint street; such a cute downtown area. Friday evening, so it was pleasantly bustling. The ambiance was warm and vibrant. We had a draft beer and a glass of red wine to start, and got the Godfather pizza. The pizza was very good; crispy crust and the hot honey added a nice kick and interesting twist. Service was efficient- could be exceptional with a little more attention to detail (like wiping the table from the previous diners before taking a drink order). Everyone was busy, so it wasn't a big deal! I would have preferred a bottled wine over boxed wine, but if it works well, it works. Definitely would return after checking out the other offerings in town! read more

If it means anything, I was born and raised in NYC, pizza capital of the universe...so, anyway, I like pizza!!! I also own a pizza restaurant in Michigan which we joked about with the cook for all of the obvious reasons. I LOVED this pizza and would like to replicate it in my own place. I think it was the sauce that set it apart. It is a 10 in my book. If they threw a price of oak in that oven I think it would be a 12!!! Waitress and cook were friendly and attentive. The pepperoni roll was fantastic. Ranch dressing was good a tad dilly. The pizza was amazing!!! Service was not amazing they ordered Diet Coke and the syrup was out so we asked for another one and she said that they would go have the syrup change out downstairs. They never actually brought out the replacement drinks and it took two hours so that the service is definitely lacking for such a small venue you would think that 3 to 4 waitresses would be more than enough however apparently that wasn't for them we would definitely go back, but I would hope that the service would improve. Visited Fire and Stone for the first time today. Wow! It definitely won't be our last time there! We ordered The DeGarmo, a meat-lover's specialty pizza, that was cooked to perfection in the coal-fired oven. We sat at the bar and enjoyed a cold pitcher of very fresh draft beer while our pizza was prepared. We boxed up a third of our pie to take home, but we ended up opening the box and finishing it off before we got up from our seats at the bar. Looked for some new pizza place to try so we headed to Chillicothe to give it a try. Service was good but food did take a while. We had two pizzas and a salad. The salad was just a salad nothing great but nothing bad. The pizzas on the other hand were amazing. My husband and I ate here for dinner last night. Even though Fire and Stone is located in my home town, it had been a few years since we ate here. We both had a house salad. It was very fresh and large in portion. They make their own ranch salad and it was delicious. They should consider bottling it for sale! I would buy it. We also ordered a DeGarmo pizza. Wow, I'm a fan! My parents and gf came here for a light dinner after a long day exploring the area. At first impression, the restaurant seemed a bit messy with dirty plates on the outside tables and some on the inside -- but then I noticed they could be short on help for the Saturday evening with Ross County fair going on. We were greeted promptly with a friendly smile and felt welcomed. The menu had a good list of pizzas and a build it yourself option as well. Other options included soups, salads, and sandwiches too. Since we weren't too hungry, we ordered the Chillicothe Cobb salad and the 14' Forager pizza and added their fennel sausage too. The salad was a basic cobb salad but their pizza was on point! The crust was crispy (though personally I would like it just a tad crispier... but maybe that's just me), the ratio of white sauce to ingredients had a good balance and complimented one another well. Overall everything was consumed and we were happy. Service-wise, the two ladies were friendly, though a bit rushed/hands tied. I feel like they could use one extra set of hands, but as I mentioned earlier, they could be short that shift or not expecting a lot of business. This was our first time eating here. We ordered a Cobb salad which was good but not amazing and I think $9.00 was very pricey for the type and amount we were served. Now that being said the pizza was phenomenal. The crust was perfect!!! We were waited on very quickly and had are pizzas within 20 min of ordering. We had the chicken bacon and ranch also a pepperoni pizza. That ranch dressing is the best it's house made and delicious. Will definitely avoid salad next time but there pizza will keep us coming back!!! read more

The food here is decent...especially for Chiilicothe. Not an amazing value, however, as I find it to be a little pricey for thin crust pizza. They only have one high chair, which is annoying and weird, because it was being used when I was here and my kid had to sit in her stroller. The owner called my daughter a boy repeatedly even though she had a bow in her hair! Lol The owner is unfriendly and acts inconvenienced when people come in. She was our waitress one day and you'd have thought that refills were a huge request. The ambiance is confusing-not a sports bar, not really serious sit-down food. The service is ok. read more

Fire & Stone is an awesome pizzeria in downtown Chillicothe. We had read some reviews, an decided to give it go. It turned out to be the type of pizza my wife and like best, stone baked thin crust. The menu has many pizza options, featured was lots of topping choices sure to suit anyone's palate. All fresh and high quality toppings generously applied to what will be tasty stone baked pie. The cheese they use is an in house blend of 3 cheeses that is out of this world. They also have some adult beverages here too. Hard to beat this place for pizza. read more

A friend and I were on our way to Indiana and found ourselves hungry around Chillicothe, so I got on the Yelp-tubes and the overwhelming response was that this was the place to spend your food dollars in this town. The restaurant itself is in a little slice of old-time downtown Americana. Established old buildings, plenty of street parking around. You walk in and the space is long and narrow with a good amount of tables and bar space. We decided to split a meat lovers pizza, and it was fantastic. Really great crust. Love that wood fired taste that you can't get with electric ovens. The amount of toppings were generous, and for the two of us, a 14" pizza left us really full. I'm not sure I'll find myself in Chillicothe again, but if I do, I'll make this a definite potential stop. read more

There is nothing better than finding a local dining diamond. I am a huge sucker for small town, old downtown revival type restaurants. There are so many of these type towns in Ohio with old buildings and entrepreneurs who take a chance and create something unique are winners in my book. Found Fire and Stone on Yelp...a beautiful evening drive over with the windows open in the Challenger; parked right out front in old downtown. Sat at the bar/counter and ordered up a Fat Tire. High ceilings, big windows, narrow profile...prototypical downtown design. Love it! They have a fired pizza oven and after reading reviews knew this was thin crust (yes). It sits in the back and you can see from the counter. Ordered a salad and the DeGarmo pie. The salad wasn't anything to write home about (called Just the Basics) and it was fine. The pizza was terrific however...thin and crispy crust with a generous amount of toppings. Next time i would try something more traditional (mozzarella, basil, etc.) but it was very good. I would have liked the crust to be just a tad more crispy. What a great local place for pizza...next time I'm in town on business I will be stopping back. Really really enjoyed this place. read more

If you are used to top quality food, remember you are in rural Ohio and lower your expectations. That said, this is the best food I have found in Chillicothe. Pros: ingredients are fresh and of good quality, the space is cozy, inviting, clean, subdued comfy lighting, three nice beers on tap (not counting Bud Lite), wait staff is friendly. Cons: they advertise as 'wood fired pizza' but I don't think it's a very hot fire. Crust was kind of soft and rubbery, not at all the lovely bubbly, chewy, crispy-scorched crust that come from strong risen dough and a red hot fire. The crust was indestinguishable from pre-made store bought. It had no rise. I sat at the bar and had a Fat Tire draft and the Forager pizza with Canadian bacon added. While I missed having amazing crust, everything else was great. Best food I've had in rural Ohio ever. read more

Fairly good pizza with good toppings. The crust was a bit doughy as it could have baked a bit longer. A few beers on tap and the addition of wines in the near future according to the bartender. Blue moon,Fat tire ale,Portsmouth Pilsner, and bud light on tap. Mid afternoon, not very busy yielded a quick turnaround on the pizza. We called prior to leaving, no answer, and left a message. We called a second time on our drive. No answer. Upon arrival, a handwritten sign on the door announced that due to a lack of help, they were closed. However, some people were inside eating and the oven obviously going!
