And most of the time, we only get to appreciate them during emergencies like when your house is burning down or someone needs immediate medical help. I am so thankful for this service. But there is yet another service they provide that is less known. And one that has helped save my house from flooding more than once. Yeah, I know Southern California is going through a drought. A couple of weeks ago, though, we were anticipating a torrential rainfall. And after living in the same house for 30 years, I knew that an uncommonly large river of water is known to flow into my back yard from my alley when Mother Nature decides to dump on us that badly and that quickly. And it oozes into my back patio room. Bad design, but we never fixed it. So here is the point. Corona Fire Department has sand bags, pre-loaded and free. Residents are allowed 10 each. So, when the big storm was announced, we ran out to pick up our 10, then moseyed over one more time to get another small batch to finish the blockade. Just enough! As of this writing, Station #1 is the only station in Corona that provides these sandbags. You may wish to call ahead to confirm they have some ready. And if you live in a different city, contact your local Fire Department to find out if they have this available. Don't come here! They have a limited supply. So very helpful, thank you for giving us the tools to save our house.

One of them, speaking in a loud and distinctive voice, told me to stop recording. Since I was in a public area, I felt there were better ways they could have asked me to stop, rather than being disrespectful. The fire department vehicle number was 14.

The staff out front were really nice, especially the security guard. He randomly asked me if I had heard of Bucca di Beppo since the other staff members had never been and I replied, "Yes! In Claremont, it's great, I was just there in June." The security guard then told me a joke about Koi fish and it calmed my nerves about possibly having Covid again. I walked inside the building and the process was easy, just showed my conformation e-mail and confirmed a few details then went into the main room where they gave me a swab to swab my nostrils. The nurse was very helpful and was 6 feet away watching me do the swab and guiding me on how to do it. I was in and out of there within 10 minutes and it was a pleasant experience. If you're in the area, sign up through San Bernardino county health's website and select RC Resource Center. Definitely the fastest COVID test I've taken lately.

The Tiny Tot classrooms are the reason why I come here. My middle son enjoys the class and the staff who teach. Put it this way, it's summer time and my boy wants to go to summer school. That's how good they are. They have plenty of activities for kids; coloring, story time, creative activities and plenty of toys. The first floor reception area provides the residents of Chino an opportunity to register for recreational classes, facility rentals, pavilion rentals, and after school program registration. This is where you will find my wife.

If you are working for or just got hired at any food service establishment in California it is…read morerequired by law that you have a basic understanding of food safety; which means that you will have to get your pretty little hands, and your name, on a food handler's card. If you are specifically working at a food service establishment in Riverside this is the place to go within 14 days of being employed. They are open Monday- Thursday from 7 am-5pm and closed on holidays. The test will take about 20 minutes to complete, but give yourself at least an additional 20 more minutes to review the information they will be testing on. It is very important to review this information at least once before you take the test if you are wanting to pass the first time. Some of the questions asked are common sense, like having to wash your hands after using the lou; but a lot of the questions are not, like specific times and temperatures that food needs to be at when left out without being in the temperature danger zone. You can review the material they test on beforehand on their website, otherwise they have booklets available on location for you to borrow as long as you need before taking the test. There is no trickery in the wording of the questions, everything is pretty much straight out of the booklet. The test costs $20 to take (with 3 chances to pass without paying the fee again), $5 for any duplicates you may need made. CASH ONLY. Tests are also available in Spanish. After you have paid your fee, you are given the test, a clipboard with the answer sheet, and a pencil. Once you are finished, you turn it in and they grade your test in front of you letting you know right away if you have passed or failed, giving you an opportunity to review any questions you may have missed. When you pass you fill out a form that asks your name and where in Riverside you work and they give you your food handlers card. This card needs to be renewed every 2 years. Save the receipt for a work expense write off. Tests in Spanish are also available.
