The SSA.gov website is utterly useless - it's virtually impossible to log in! Trying is utterly useless with the login.gov and ID.me - there's no way to look up my records or copy information about my SSI payments. Why is this true?

Updated my direct deposit, but the SS website gave me an option of starting my DD in July or August. I was waiting for my March check, which should come at the end of April. Tried to bypass, but NO, you must pick one. WTF! There was no way to change this any where on the site or by phone. Couldn't wait for 2-4 weeks for an appointment, so into the abyss of a government bureaucracy I proceeded. Showed up at 9AM (opening time), already a line of 15-20 people waiting at the door. Got in line, and after about a half hour was standing in front a kiosk for check-in. Oh of course my issue was not listed, mine Account Suspended. I chose something, and then because I am disabled, I had 2 choices for my disability, which is balance issues, so I push a 4 wheeler, which was NOT a choice. Blind or deaf, hard of hearing. Her Ladyship, reached over and chose the hard of hearing, because I froze a bit. and off we went to sit at one of the 20 plus chairs. From the numbers on the display board, it looked like it would be a very long wait. 20 minutes later I was called, got a very nice man, and in 10 minutes I was out the door. Big Giant YAY. Place has easy parking. This was the Mountain View office.

Public shaming has become extremely bad and a huge issue. No matter where you go, people will throw passive aggressive jabs even for asking a simple question that can in no common sense way be considered offensive. I've also endured a lot of racist and judgmental interactions by minorities, which I think is pretty hypocritical. It's like no one has any decency or a sense of civility anymore. Every time I go outside my house I am getting traumatized over and over again by reckless drivers, rude employees in stores and medical offices, and pretty much any interaction you can think of. I get laughed at by random strangers who literally don't know how to mind their own business. It feels like I'm getting mobbed.

When we had a one on one in person, this man showed no interest while presenting the hall. He seemed like he had better things to do. No politeness, no smiling whatsoever, no kindness. Rushed us through the layout options, we emailed him two weeks before the wedding the finalized layout and he didn't respond until the night before the wedding. After telling us he would work with us due to the time he still didn't have the right set up on the day of. My husband fixed it the day of. Terrible customer service on his part. We had a slideshow, requested his assistance and never returned with the wire for the slideshow to play on the projector. You shouldn't be working for a community center if you're not helpful to your community. Rude. Disgustingly distasteful with your communication. The space itself earned the two stars, that guy Matthew ruined my wedding prep. Super annoying. I wouldn't treat people that way.

The great thing is, you don't have to buy a ticket to attend, so you can watch and engage in all of the magic happening at the small tables set up in front of bars and eateries while not paying the high wine-tasting cost... though it might be worth it if you love wine! I opted to just buy a few drinks from the many bars and pubs along the street as there are plenty of great businesses out here. The magic was fun and entertaining, family friendly, nothing too bizarre, mostly card tricks and bits including rope and small props. The rotating magicians were great.. friendly, funny, and pretty good at wowing the crowd.. I was certainly mesmerized by some of their illusions. Alan the magician says "you gotta trust me" when he's captivating the audience of passersby, cuz of course magic is all about believing what's right before your eyes, lol. And Theron the magician gave away free souvenirs at one of the tables, one I love, a rabbit in a tophat "stress ball" (see my pic)... so even though none of the magicians pulled a real rabbit out of a hat, there's still so much to appreciate about this event. I've been to Historic Murphy Ave several times in the past and it's such a charming area and they hold really great weekly events at a lot of the individual venues as well as on the main street, like live music, karaoke, wine tasting, festivals, and even free stand-up comedy nights during the week at Lilly Mac's and Murphy's Law. Having enjoyed some of these experiences, I'd say that the quality of events at Historic Murphy Avenue makes it a lovely option to have in the south bay (whether it's free or paid entertainment). Plus the atmosphere has a more chill vibe for nightlife than downtown SJ. They have a couple parking lots/garage nearby as well as street parking within blocks. And Caltrain is right there too. So it's not hard to make plans in the area, no matter what the occasion.

The street is blocked off from traffic, so all the restaurants, bars, breweries and assorted other stores are easily accessible. When I was here, all the places were setting up for the evening to get started. There is a parking lot close by, and also about a block up from here is the AMC theater. Definitely worth checking out!!

You can take as many pictures as you want outside but no pictures of the interior so I added some I found online. This is what makes this design unique compared to other FLW works: -Hexagons/honeycomb, back in 1936 imagine the precision that had to be done by hand to make the huge structure a honeycomb as well as small details like the stone tiles. One cut slightly wrong would have snowballed into huge misalignments. -First FLW work in non-rectangular structures -First FLW work in the Bay Area It's not as epic and grand as Fallingwater or as contemplative as Taliesin West and it is smaller than some of the US public FLW sites but it's only 1 of 3 in Cali you can see the interior of and you get a more complete picture if you can see inside/out and hear the docents anecdotes about the design and house.
