Cashew Nut Chicken - mmm, mmm good!
    Ken R.

Based on Yelp reviews, I drove more than an hour round trip to get food here from Waikoloa, and it was worth the effort! First off, the folks behind the counter are great. The woman who I presume is the owner sees to know most of the people walking in. And, as a perfect stranger, I, too, felt welcomed! She was very helpful and accommodating for my slightly off-menu requests, and also gave me additional plates and utensils since I was at a hotel with limited items. Oh, and the food was great, too. I really enjoyed my cashew nut chicken and egg drop soup. Definitely a place to come to again!

I returned with my husband two years after my first review and everything is just as wonderful as I remembered. They are willing to accommodate special requests to suit dietary needs as well. This is some of the best Chinese food in Hawai'i (meaning all islands). Thank you so much for being our go-to spot every time we visit! The parking is also super easy and the restaurant is incredibly clean, quiet, and comfortable. The staff are super friendly as well!

Very affordable Chinese food on the island!! Got Mapo Tofu and if you don't like the numbing feeling of Sichuan peppercorn then you are gonna love this dish!!! The gravy tasted a little on the sweeter end despite ordering normal spice level.

We live in California but travel to Big island Ha and found this gem of a resturant! I had the Fireart Beef in boiling Hot Sauce -generous helping for 2 people with chopped garlic and chilies some fresh some dried. Also the garlic Mahi Mahi with rice and Mac salad or noodles So delicious this is a local number one resturant. Each time we come we see Hawaiians and workers. We recommend this as the best Kona has to offer In real Chinese food bon appetite. The waitress and workers so kind also.

We ordered food for 3 families and picked up within an hour. Food was delicious, fresh, and well prepared.

I was looking for schezwan style asian food, this place delivers. Coming from Seattle, our asian food bat is pretty high. And we were missing that familiar taste. This restaurant was referred 2 times.. from a friend to another family staying in the same resort and by them to us over breakfast. I personally am not a fan of sweet tasting food so we did did try this out right away. If this was in Seattle, I would give it 3 stars. But on the Big Island this place stands out. Plenty of vegetarian options available. We ordered tofu with vegetables, braised string beans, shrimp with broccoli in soy ginger sauce and shrimp egg fried rice. A small yet neat place. Family run business. Service was very prompt and courteous. Would highly recommend this to my fellow foodies if they are looking for spicy Chinese food that rings true to taste here on Big Island, Hawaii.

Highly, highly recommend this place! The portions are good, and the food is delicious and well seasoned - it tastes fresh too. The restaurant is small, but quaint and cute, and there is soft piano music playing (which makes for a very peaceful meal!). The staff are extremely kind, polite, and friendly. They greet you as you enter the restaurant, check up on you during your meal to see if you need anything, and are just overall wonderful. My mother and I ate here on multiple occasions while in Kailua-Kona, and we loved it every time. You can't go wrong with some hearty, classic Chinese food!

Two years ago when they first open we were there. The food was Delicious , the Service , Pricing was Excellent and the parking was plentiful. Today June 12, 2025 we revisited this fantastic place and the Food, Service, Pricing, Parking is still Great ! We're here for nine days and let me say we'll be eating here once everyday, lunch/dinner. Cooked just Right ! Check my review from two years ago ! 10 Stars

The Food is top tier! Everything was very flavorful. I got orange chicken , honey walnut shrimp, and beef w/ broccoli. All were amazing and perfect portions. I also got a Cajun boil "The X combo" came with 1/2 lb of shrimp, mussels, and clams! Corn, potatoes, and sausage. Very delicious. The Service was amazing from beginning to end. The hostess was very friendly and welcoming. The Ambiance was very peaceful. They played some slow jams no words . I would say classical music ? Either way it was very relaxing. The Price for the food was also great !! I would definitely return.

They had mist blowing fans in the patio area to help cool off. Our food arrived pretty quickly. The presentation was good. The food looked appetizing! My veggie poke bowl was packed with sesame ginger flavor and tastes delicious. The side of salad was a good add on. My husband's dish looked great. The fish was soft and the flavor was nice. He liked the side of mac salad as well. I was a bit skeptical initially about the veggie bowl. However, it was great and I'm glad I tried something authentic food. We also got the chocolate lava cake for dessert. It came out pretty quickly. It was coated with strawberry syrup. The menu did say that it was going to come with whipped cream but I believe they ran out. However, the dessert was spectacular! All in all, loved the food! Highly recommend it, especially for those looking to try authentic veggie food.

I am happy to share that it remains a classic and unique experience for locals and visitors alike. Last night we decided to go since we were celebrating a friend's recovery from open heart surgery at Queens six weeks earlier and even though it was the July Fourth holiday weekend we had an excellent meal. Seated next to the crashing surf with a sweeping view of Kailua Bay we enjoyed cocktails as the sun slowly set. We were fortunate to be taken care of by Joe, who as it turned out had worked there 17 years and he made some good suggestions. The sizzling mushrooms were a delight. My wife had the lamb shank, and I had the pork chop. Both were amazingly tender and tasty. Our friends had the signature Teriyaki steak and pasta with Kauai prawns and ended up wishing they'd had ours. The signature steak has great flavor but flank steak is not as good as a ribeye grilled at my place, or so they told me. They are somewhat spoiled. ): But we all had a great time and were especially pleased with Joe as we went down memory lane and caught up on mutual friends. We're grateful that Eric and his team have kept this and the other restaurants they own top notch. Also well worth noting is that its employee ownership program ensures the legacy of quality will continue. Parking here is a challenge but there's free validated parking and then if you don't mind a bit of a walk there are other options. I forgot to ask about parking as we parked and walked this time because the lot was full but that's not surprising given it was a holiday weekend. Mahalo.
