This is the ginger scallion plate and OMG lemme just say the flavors was just amazing , literally what I was wanting after a day of traveling. I didn't realize I ordered the plate. Based on Yelp reviews, I drove more than an hour round trip to get food here from Waikoloa, and it was worth the effort! First off, the folks behind the counter are great. The woman who I presume is the owner sees to know most of the people walking in. And, as a perfect stranger, I, too, felt welcomed! She was very helpful and accommodating for my slightly off-menu requests, and also gave me additional plates and utensils since I was at a hotel with limited items. Oh, and the food was great, too. This restaurant was referred 2 times.. from a friend to another family staying in the same resort and by them to us over breakfast. I personally am not a fan of sweet tasting food so we did did try this out right away. If this was in Seattle, I would give it 3 stars. But on the Big Island this place stands out. By far our most favorite Chinese restaurant in Kona. Couple of items aren't recommended though, the grilled squid, just came out like microwaved & cold, also the soup stuffs. This is a curious restaurant. The decor is very minimalistic. It is brightly lit and airy. It was easy to carry on a conversation. They appear to have an extensive variety on their menu. We went with family who have been here before so we took their recommendations and ordered; Honey Walnut (actually pecan) Shrimp - OMG! The flavor of this is so unique. I wish I could have eaten more because I would have ordered another one of these. Garlic String beans - theses were exactly what I expected. The flavor was pleasant and very enjoyable. I have eaten here several times - to the point that when I walk in the regular staff knows what I will be ordering. I love their beef lo mein. Only one time was the meat fatty. My best friend usually orders the chicken kung pau with side of fried rice and loves the flavor. Plus they offer Dr Pepper as a soda choice, big plus for me. Very friendly service. read more

Now this is an interesting place because on the surface it seems to be a Chinese restaurant but take a closer look at the menu and you will see that the seafood broil is big on the menu. We've eaten here several times mostly trying their steak, fish and spicy mapo tofu. These Chinese dishes are spot on. Their service is very friendly and I've seen them really take care of their customers. The first time we tried this place there was a mix up in the online order. Not only did they take care of it but they also made it up in spades by how they took care of the issue - not looking to blame or make excuses but just to take care of the customer. Finally, there are several tables in the restaurant, as well as a couple out door tables. It's clean and I've always seen several occupied throughout the day. Multigenerational Chinese American family, flew in to attend a wedding. We were informed by locals that there were no good Chinese food in Kailua Kona. So Popo brought her Chinese spices and tried cooking at the Airbnb. To get a good won hei, she set off the fire alarms and multiple staff came running with fire extinguishers and got sent away with fried rice. After that we did takeout and had mediocre Chinese food until our last day. Wish we discovered this place on our first day. When yelping for Chinese food in Kailua Kona, we initially skip this place because it had Cajun food listed on its menu, making us think it wasn't an authentic Chinese. But this place serves real Chinese food with good wok hei. Recommended dishes: + Kon Pao Tofu, + Thai Basal Eggplant, + Fireart Stir-Fried Broad Rice Noodles. Off menu item, "Can you please make your version of beef chow fun for the kids?" Their broad rice noodle is a little more al dente than fresh chow fun but it's good. In fact, their version of beef chow fun was so good that we didn't have enough for the kids when they wanted a second helping. Next time we're back in Kailua Kona we're definitely coming back. Their price point is cheaper over all. The other Chinese places cost a little over $200 for each meal. This place was $160. read more

The night before myself and my two worker's spent $80 eating at a bowling alley. This cost us less than $50. Was really tasty and portions were good size. Couple days later we went back near closing. Other two really well cooked & beef flavor dominated the sauce. Chicken retained texture, but didn't taste of anything but the sauce. I think they overcook it ahead & throw some into the mix. (Previously had soup with chicken in it, and pieces were also tasteless.) I would order again & save the chicken bits for the dog, because she didn't mind the blandness.
