I used to go here a lot, and the food was good and had good value. Then I started getting an upset stomach after I ate there, Shortly after that (2025), the restaurant was closed by the Health Department for multiple violations, especially with unsanitary food preparation. I decided to give them one more try. Driving in, I saw meat hanging outside the back of the restaurant. I decided not to get any food and won't go back again. It should be easy and important to prepare food under sanitary conditions. It's kind of a contract between a restaurant and its customers. For me, this restaurant broke that contract for good. We stopped by to grab dinner, they only serve to go, no dine in. We had two orders of the two choice lunch plate. The orange chicken and sweet and sour pork were stale, there were not crispy at all. The beef and broccoli and rice and noodles were better. I wound pass on the deep fried proteins unless you know they were recently cooked. When I was younger my parents frequented this spot. I love this spot. Other places just don't hit the same. The salt and pepper chicken? Phenomenal. Amazing. Breath taking. If I were to have a wedding and get anything catered it would be the salt and pepper chicken. The service was always nice to me too as a child. But now I live in Maui, and Maui has little to no Chinese food spots. I remember being there and fur Elise would be on constantly, I still hear that tune sometimes. We use to go here all the time. But lately I have stopped going due to their skimpy portions. The charsiu is hard and seems old as if it was there all day. The roast pork was cold and not on heat or even warm. As you can see the portions in my plate it's pretty sad especially if you are paying per choice. They also give customers the old food that had been sitting on the line instead of giving out the fresh food that they refill the line with. Call ahead and your food is ready when you get there. Take out only, no dine in. The orange chicken always tastes better when ordered ala carte instead of off the line (unless they just brought a new batch out). The crispy chicken is a winner, pair it with an order of the pork egg plant and an order of char-siu fried rice and you got a meal. Very typical local Chinese restaurant. Not amazing, not bad. Just average all the way. Nothing wrong with average for normal everyday consumption. When you aren't in the mood to cook, go grab a plate. The menu is typical for all Chinese restaurants here. Of course they can make stuff not on the menu if you just tell them what you want. The owners are what make this place special to me (not to mention being 3 min from home). They are really nice, always talk story, and are extremely hard working. Even if there may be a little better place ten minutes more down the road, I still consistently eat here because I love the people and want to give them the support. Along with the regular menu (I recommend the mabo tofu, House seafood mein Hong Kong style) They also have the hot station with food already made. It pretty much never changes, so if you have something from those choices you like, you will always be happy. They have orange chicken, sweet sour pork, salt and pepper chicken, shrimp, beef broccoli, kau yuk, egg fu young, etc. They have a beer and wine menu, and there is plenty of room to sit tons of people. They take credit cards ($10 minimum) and do not have a website or delivery. I saw that mentioned in a previous review and wanted to clear that up. I will continue to eat here at least once a week. There are better choices if you drive, but you could also do a lot worse. Solid 3 and a half out of 5 stars for me. read more

Fast place to get very good take out. The restaurant portion is no longer an option. Can go in and get two or three choice plate pretty fast with wide selection. This is old school Panda Express style. Pick either noodles or fried rice and then your favorites. Definitely the chicken bok choy is a go to dish. read more

Food is delicious and like any restaurant, its best when cooked fresh and hasn't been sitting all day. This is of my favorite places to order food from. I've even recommended it to several family and friends that love it too. However, please be aware that they use the same utensils to serve several different dishes with. If you have any food allergies like me, let them know what they are before you order. Today was the second time I had to let one of the employees know that I cannot eat the food if they picked it up with the same tong that they served the shrimp with. The employees are usually nice here, but this one had an attitude and she told me that I should've said something before I started ordering. First of all, I didn't know that they didn't apply food safety rules to their restaurant. Cross contamination could cause people to get sick or die. Thankfully, another employee (she might've been the boss- very nice lady), made me a new plate. I apologized for the inconvenience and paid for both plates. She apologized and assured me that it was no problem. The first time I've caught one of their employees serving several dishes with one utensil, is when I realized WHY I had an allergic reaction to their food before. Never thought it would happen again. I give it four stars because I love how much chow mein they give! I love chinese food although I don't really like to try new things - so I always stick to what I usually get. Lately, however, I've only been craving chow mein so that's all I've been eating from here. But they give sooo much and it's soooo good. :) ANDDDDDDD it's cheap!! I think for $4 maybe even less than that (I ordered with my friend who got some won ton and total was $5 with tax) I got a small box of chow mein. You might be thinking a SMALL box for $4?! Seeeee . . . The thing is that they PACK the box with chow mein! I mean REALLY pack it - bursting at the seams pack it. And I think that's AMAZINGGGGG. For about $30 I got three main dinner entrees plus steamed rice, and I brought it over for dinner for the four of us. I was a bit sceptical about going to this restaurant after reading some of the negative reviews posted on this site. I am very glad I went there for lunch. I am never a fan of eating all-you-can-eat or buffet style food sitting in warming trays, so I always order from the menu in order to get freshly made meals. The salt and pepper calamari was delicious! The batter was thin and crisp. The calamari was tender and plentiful . The crispy chow mien was also great.
