If I could give six stars I would! We've been in Spain for a few weeks and I've been craving a burger. Arrived in Barcelona late last night and this place is around the corner from my hotel. We chose to sit inside away from the smokers. The vibe was chill and all three servers were friendly and spoke English. The menu is full of options but I went for the burger. It was amazing! Super juicy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly! The grilled foie gras was a decadent topper and coupled with the caramelized onions and warmed bun, I was in burger heaven! I opted for no Parmesan shavings and would have loved to see a nice briny pickle on the side to balance the rich and savory sandwich. Service was attentive and music was at a great level. My mom and I were perusing around after checking out Arc de Triumf and decided to eat here for brunch. They don't have a tapas menu during brunch so we went with the NY bagel and Asian chicken salad lol Surprisingly, the food here was really good. Ingredients tasted fresh and portions were huge. We shared a slice each of the New York bagel and split the Asian chicken salad. We washed it down with mimosas and they even gave us small sampler shots of the bloody mary which was eve more tasty! Firebug was the the best food decision I made in Barcelona. First off we came here pretty much right when they opened and they welcomed us, we were the first ones in the restaurant and were able to sit anywhere. We were greeted and even though there was a language barrier they were very patient with us. We ordered coffee first; I got a latte which was great, but my wife ordered a mocha coffee; not to sure of the name but it had whip cream on it and it was one of the best coffee's we had in Barcelona and we had a bunch. It wasn't just a coffee based, a little more on the sweeter side but it was just fantastic. We would just come back fo this coffee since It was so amazing. Now to the food; I got huevos rancheros and my wife got shakshuka Huevos rancheros was def a 4/5 At first it looked like a small plate but it was dense, had some great flavors and would def get it again. Did I mention the flavors, it was so good on a cold morning. Shakshuka 4.5/5 Would recommend this right away, the flavors to this dish were creamy, robust, and even light if that makes sense. It comes with two pieces of bread that you can dip into the shakshuka and it just makes it perfect. I LOVE this restaurant. It's my third time coming here and I already know I will be back again. I even came here for my birthday. To begin with- the food- it is indescribably "delicioso" in my opinion. The fish tacos which are pictured are amazing. Definitely use the corn salsa and sauces on the side because they add so much flavor. Also the patatas bravas here are hands down - the best - patatas bravas I've had in Spain so far. The eggs and chorizo sausage are an excellent touch and this dish literally bursts with flavor. For dessert, I can't recall the name of the sundae but it's the only sundae on the menu, and I would definitely recommend getting it. However, it is usually made with vanilla ice cream, but trust me, ask for the raspberry sorbet as pictured (picture attached), it's phenomenal. Also the servers here are very nice and usually fairly quick. One of the waiter's was aware it was my birthday so he gave me a glass of "cava" (champagne) on the house. Unfortunately, we could not take advantage of the Yelp check in offer as it's not valid on Friday, but no biggie. The brunch menu is quite "American style" if that's a thing? This was my first eatery on my first visit ever to Barcelona and it didn't disappoint. We had about 6 hours to kill and yelped this place almost a mile away from our hotel Near Pobleneau area. They have indoor and outdoor seating but because it was a very hot day and had just walked a mile, we opted for indoor seating with ac. The staff was very friendly and the vibe inviting. My wife had the pancakes, my son had the salmon bagel, and I had the chorizo and potato plate and everything was delicious. I had done a little research on the tipping but was still a little bit apprehensive of just rounding up instead of giving a percentage. Coming from LA, tipping is a big deal and I didn't want to offend. The bill came and paid on visa, thinking I could figure out the tip part after the transaction but unfortunately that was too late. So apparently in Europe, you have to tell them how much to add when the bill comes and before the transaction. The young man was very helpful and was more than happy with ending the transaction there but then asked him for change and tipped $5 e on a $47 bill. May have been too much but I appreciated the lesson which prepared me for the rest of my trip. I definitely will be back and would recommend this place to my fellow yelp friends. read more
