Worst firehouse subs ever. My sandwich was horribly made, to the point I couldn't even eat it. I asked for no mayo, no tomatoes, and no mustard. I received all three on my sandwich and it was made with soggy garlic bread? I didn't even order garlic bread. That sandwich had a layer of whatever garlic butter, thick layer of mayo, and then another layer of sauce. Who would want something like that? On top of their awful sandwich making skills (or maybe just reading skills) the parking is absolutely horrendous. There is construction going on so it makes parking impossible. read more

I will start this off by saying THE PARKING IS HORRENDOUS DURING LUNCH HOURS!!!! I placed a lunch order and I had to ride around for the longest to get a park before being able to grab my food. I rode around for about 15 minutes. You cant park behind the building, the street was full, the lot was full and in the front, that lot is shared with another place and a few spots were marked for them. Once I parked, my order was still not ready so I had to wait still before getting my food. This was my first time coming here and will be my last because of the parking. It is close to where I work, but I would rather go to West Columbia and be able to find a park versus the hassle of parking here. One of my favorite places. The best fish and chips in town....except last night my wife and I experienced a big disappointment when we went here. I ordered the fish and chips..which as always, is excellent. However, that was about the extent of it. I was looking at menus on yelp before going and noticed that someone posted a photo of a salmon dish with a "romesco" type sauce. Looked great, and as my wife was wanting salmon, I told her we'd go here and they had a good salmon. I've been here 3-4 times before and have always liked their Bloody Mary drinks...loaded with goodies...shrimp, olives, celery, and even bacon on one of them. They have two types, with the "Spicy BM" having the Carolina reaper vodka, shrimp, bacon. I ordered the Spicy BM, fish and chips and a She-Crab soup for appetizer. The BM came out and it was basically an ice filled glass of the spicy vodka with a celery stuck in it. No Olives, nothing else. I asked the waiter what was this? And he said they only do the shrimp/bacon thing on brunches. I've never been to a brunch here, but I've always got the full BM before! Next I tasted the soup. Good taste except the soup was just warm, almost to the point where it wasn't even heated. Not hot at all. My fault here, as I should've asked to have it re-warmed or something. A manager or someone came by half way through the soup and asked how things were. I said the soup wasn't hot. He apologized and left. Two thumbs down for the soup and the BM. FIsh was still great. Now for my wife's salmon. They didn't have a salmon on the menu, so I asked about having a salmon entree. The waiter said they have salmon, but only on a salad, but my wife could order salmon as an entree. So she did. They came out with two pieces of salmon and the green beans as a side. I took a bite of her salmon and found it to be the saltiest I've ever had. I'm a salt person and usually I'm accused of adding to much salt when I cook, but this was ridiculous. The cook must've over salted the outside of the salmon...not just salt, but all the spices. It was cooked right, sautéed or on a pan, and the inside of the salmon was done correctly, just that the outside crust was almost to the point where we couldn't eat it. She ate about 1/4 of one of the pieces. There was no sauce or anything, just two pieces of salmon and the beans. It really makes us think twice about going back again. Staff prioritized boxed meals when other customers were waiting. Total wait time was over 30 minutes for an order promised in 12 minutes per online ordering. Order was wrong as one sandwich was missing the pickle, mustard, onions, and bell peppers. The other was missing peppers and mushrooms (which were an additional cost we paid). Store was cluttered with the catering order in the main footpath from front door to counter. Store should turn off online ordering if they are out of ingredients and working a large catering order. Save yourself a headache and go to Forest Dr or Cayce. read more

The quality of sandwiches that Firehouse Subs delivers is outrageous. As a customer of both Subway and Quizno's, I know for a fact that there is absolutely NO comparison regarding the two versus this one. Subway has a method of toasting the bread, and at the same time, microwaving the meat topped with cheese. Then Subway adds all of the condiments to complete the sandwich. Eh... Quizno's places the meat & cheese on the bread and toasts the entire sandwich together, then adds the condiments to complete the sandwich. 'Eh' plus one... Firehouse toasts the bread, and at the same time, steams the cheese covered meat in a special steamer. Then the meat & cheese are removed and drained of excess water, and placed on the toasted bread. At this point they add the condiments. The meat is so juicy and soaked full of flavor that you experience the aroma in a way you never thought possible. Your entire palate is immediately overwhelmed. To explain further, whenever you see an advertisement for food, it usually looks like it was involved in a glamor photo shoot. As in, if you should happen to see this food in person, it NEVER looks the same as it did in the picture. I will try very hard not to immediately eat my next sub, so that I can add a picture of it prior to my consuming it. I was beyond halfway through the second half of my sub during my last visit when I got the idea to take a photo. I will not be surprised if I get accused of using a company photo. Go see for yourself. The simple bottom line here, the absolute fact of the matter is; wherever there's a Firehouse, Subway & Quizno's DO NOT & WILL NOT get my business. In the future, in addition to other business ventures, I can definitely see myself opening a franchise store of Firehouse... there is absolutely NO DOUBT it will be very successful! read more

worst firehouse subs i've ever been to. firehouse subs is one of my favorite places to eat but i was extremely disappointed in this one. girl at the counter was super rude, i stood at the counter for at least 5-10 minutes without even being acknowledged at all. there was only 3 other customers in there when i walked in. no hi, hello, or i'll be with you in a minute. after 5 minutes of me standing there i hear them say they're out of turkey.. which literally almost all the subs on the menu include turkey.. then the girl working the counter proceeds to sit on her phone and ignore me standing there. once i finally order she was rude and acted like i was bothering her. sub was okay, i was given 2 bottom sub rolls instead of a bottom and top. definitely wouldn't recommend. i was in the store for around 30 minutes from the time i arrived until i left. if you're looking for something quick i definitely wouldn't recommend it. girl at the counter needs to find a new job. i'm not normally one to leave a review but this was terrible. read more

Great subs. Friendly service. Unlike other locations, they do not have a kids eat free day. Thats the only reason that keeps me from going here more regularly. Yes, you may think they are slower than most places at making subs, but the subs are delicious and worth the wait. read more

Really good subs. I got the Under 500 Turkey Salsa Verde and had it Fully Involved (sans mayo). Probably the best sandwich I've had since I came to Columbia, the turkey was delicious, the bun held up, and the whole thing just tasted awesome. For only $7.00 and around 500 calories, not bad at all. Also, the staff is SUPER friendly. It's also awesome that they give back to First Responders, so I made sure to donate some money when I paid. Will definitely be visiting again with my dad who is a retired firefighter! read more

I am a huge fan of Firehouse Subs, but will NOT be back to this location! When they gave me my Club on a Sub, it literally had nothing but lettuce, mayo, and bacon. They forgot to put the meat on the sandwich. The workers were real rude and unprofessional, except one. One employee, (I'm guessing he was getting off work) walked from around the counter took off his work tee shirt in the store and walked out in nothing but a tank top. read more

Subs are good but the service was pretty bad today. I was excited to get a sub until I met an unpleasant man working the cash register. He lacked energy and really any care for that matter. Decided to only get a small sub, no combo or round up at the end of my order and take it to go. Good attitude matters and that employee lacked any. read more

Im from philly so I know what a good sandwich is. We call them hoagies, not subs, and cheesteaks not steak sandwiches. If your from philly/northeast like me don't expect anything to blow your mind. Subs that are a little $$ than other nearby sub places. Firehouse serves mostly hot subs, with the exception of chicken salad and tuna subs. They are very much all about the meats. They also offer salads and lower-calorie sub options. The store itself is pretty barebones, but very big. Lots of tables to sit at and Freestyle drink machines. You order at the counter and they bring your sandwich to you. It's very warm/humid inside from their grills and bun steamers so glasses-wearers beware. Parking is limited (if there is any at all) during M-F daytime. The lunchtime service can get pretty slow, so I prefer to just order online so my food is waiting for me when I get there. They keep online orders on top of the giant toaster so it stays very hot and ready. I like most of the sandwiches, they're pretty good, and I usually either get the New York Steamer or just the regular Turkey Sandwich. I've had a few of their low calorie sandwiches and they're also pretty tasty. The only thing I haven't been a fan of was their version of a philly steak. The steak was really rubbery and chewy and not thin shaved like it's supposed to be, and there was more mayonnaise on the sandwich than provolone. Everything else has been a palate pleaser however. I was at this location a few weeks ago late in the evening. One of the workers mentioned to me that they close early on the weekend. I was unaware of this and when I started to ask them when that started he starts pulling out his smartphone staring at it "Probably Texting" giving me this HUH response like he didn't hear me. Clearly a college student. The owner of this location needs to teach and train his staff to know what true customer service is. My husband and I stopped by for a quick lunch after I had an MRI done on my shoulder. I was in a little pain and needed to eat before taking the prescribe meds. I walked in with a sling on my arm and after placing our order, I was trying to handle the chips and cups with one hand; nearly dropping everything. Renee rushed over to help me. She made my drinks, got my order, carried everything out to the car and seatbelted me in! Where can you go and get that kind of SERVICE!!!!
