ordered online and went in to pick up my food and it was ready within minutes i had ordered for three people i was the only one who got a combo so i got my drink already when i walked in but after picking up my food i had assumed my chips were in the bag so i didn't grab some before leaving but the guy behind counter caught that i didn't get my chips and brought them out to me, correct flavor and everything. food's always delicious when i come here and i love the painting of the bears putting out the fiver on the neuse in front of union point. read more

Took 5 minutes after walking in for them to take my order. It then took 27 minutes to get my order, and only because my wife went and asked them what was taking so long. When I finally got it, IT WAS WRONG. Terrible staff and not to mention their sanitation grade was a B. Really a shame as this used to be one of the best subs in town. absolute awful.Sub was cold. and the assistant manager (older black lady) was very rude. had an attitude and was too busy worrying about her child who had a vape sitting on the counter. it was a funny farm. i go at night and the service is better. but during the day, it was so slow and employees need better attitudes and training. please fix this. ps. an 87 sanitization rating!?!?! as an ex food service employee, do you know how hard that is to achieve. read more

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of our sandwiches from here! We had an Italian, the turkey ranch and turkey club plus salads as a quick bite to have around while we were moving and I'm so glad we did. First time trying Firehouse Subs. No one in the place and still had to wait almost 4-5 to place order. My wife pointed out that the woman behind the counter was making sandwiches. Okay, but what about the other two employees. Just take the order and get it into the cue. We were the first customers to walk in at that time. Then another group walked in and ordered. Then a third group entered and ordered. Then a woman by herself walked in and while placing her order they told her they were out of lettuce. Now we ordered four sandwiches which all came with lettuce. They also didn't tell the next two groups. Our order was to go and guess what, zero lettuce on the sandwiches. How can you make an Italian sub without lettuce? Other things we noticed when eating our sandwiches. Our two Italian sandwiches had a large layer of ham, a single layer or pepperoni and then another large layer of ham. No salami at all on either. Way too much mayo for anyone. I like mayo but it should not be the ingredient you get the most of. If your sandwich starts dripping mayo and you haven't even started to eat it, then it's probably too much. Then I was mentioning that they heat their subs. My wife didn't think they did that to their subs. I pointed out that it's one of their selling points. Everyone had completely COLD sandwiches. Now we did get them to go but a heated item from any fast food place will be least very warm to hot by the time we get home. All our meats were seriously cold suggesting that they were not heated at all. My son then mentioned that his cheese looked melted. We looked at the other sandwiches and yes the cheese was melted but barely at best. Like just enough to make the cheese barely bend but not heated through. For a heated sandwich that you can get at other places these were NOT considered heated/cooked. Then there is my wife's sandwich. There was so much mayo on hers that her sandwich was soggy. Soggy as in it looked like her bread was dipped in water. She took two bites and ended up just throwing hers away. My son and I finished ours. My son said his tasted sweet which we thought might be the mayo. His sandwich was dripping in mayo too. I made the comment that if these were actually representations of the company's sandwiches there was NO WAY this company would have gone nationwide as a franchise like Jersey Mike's, Subway, Jimmy Johns, Quiznos, etc. Aall of these places mentioned if they even made a bad example of their product by any reason would have been better that the sandwiches we had. My family has actually sworn off ever trying Firehouse Subs again anywhere. I suggested that this location is a problem and I can't imagine that any other location could be as bad. They all said they would never try Firehouse Subs again because these were so bad. I can't blame them. Now it's your money and spend it as you wish. If anyone were to ask me in person I would suggest they pick a different company and if they had previously had a good experience at a different Firehouse Subs to at best steer clear of this location. Just trying to be FULLY honest in my review. I don't want anyone else to waste their money for slop sandwiches. You've been truthfully warned. read more

Deserves a half star! Store needs new management. A/C broke, Drink machine broke, soap machine in restroom broke, employees leaving door open so flies can come in. Store (ambiance) was as hot as a fire, for real. Bad customer service, employee taking order mumbling where you can't hear, AirPod in one ear, another employee on their phone. Took 20 mins to get 3 sandwiches. Plus food was not good at all, and then they didn't even get the order right. (Lol). Tonight's trip should have been a canceled enroute, as it wasn't worth what we paid. At least the first responders got a little donation. read more

This is a GREAT local spot for a tasty steamed sub. I highly recommend the trademarked "Turkey Bacon Ranch." Also wanted to share that you can add or remove any item from the sub. I was very pleased with my to go order. The italian sub was delicious with a crisp bun and a lot of meat. It had a sweet flavor to it. The proving was right on for what you get. I got a side salad, too the salad was good but I dd mot care for the dressing that much. I liked that they had other sides than just cookies and chips. Indefinitely liked this place much more than some other sandwich chains. I would order from here again. read more

I up until today have always loved firehouse. I just ordered food from there for the first time in months and picked it up and drove all the way home to realize they didn't heat up my sub at all. I don't know what happened but it was a new crew and my wife's sub and mine were both cold like straight out the fridge and they didn't give us the pickles. When we first found Firehouse we couldn't get enough of it, Subway just wasn't making it for us anymore. I have noticed they ( Firehouse) have changed over the past months, at least here in our local area. I always got the chopped salad, first of all the chicken they're putting on is like a shredded chicken instead of the small chunks. It seems like they're trying to give the appearance of more but I don't think it's the case. There are other things I've noticed but I'm not going to mention them as I'm not try to trash the business. We've just decided to move on to the next sub shop, where ever that Our location shows WV....we're now in the New Bern NC area I don't wish for this review to reflect on the Charleston WV location, I have no idea what they're doing there. Decided to pick up subs to take home for dinner. Having eaten here before, I've enjoyed the veggie sub and decided to get it with no cheese and no mayo. What I found when I got home and unwrapped it was a sandwich with practically nothing on it. Nine dollars for a sandwich containing only two things: mushrooms and peppers. Where were the onions, lettuce, and tomato? It was pretty disappointing. If you order the veggie sub, be very specific when you tell them that you actually want vegetables on it. read more

Went for the first time and I am happy new bern had another good place for subs. They were busy but the service was still quick. They have plenty of seating. You order and they will bring your order to you. The staff was efficient and polite. I got the Italian in medium and it was huge, with lots of meat on it. It's a good value for the money. When you think about the food a firefighter would be eating you would never think of food at such a great quality as Firehouse Subs. You walk in the door and everyone welcomes you to Firehouse subs. The great thing is that they ask if you've been to the restaurant before. If not, they take the time to explain the menu to you and how it all works. I don't think a restaurant can be more hospitable than that. I ordered the Club on a Sub and my wife got the Smokehouse beef & Cheddar Brisket. First think I have to say is the sandwich has the perfect meat to bread ratio, and it wasn't loaded with to much letters. you could tell the steamed meat was cheaply purchased. All and all it was an awesome sandwich and extremely filling. My wife destroyed her sandwich too. The firehouse signature hot sauce was so delicious with its spice and hint of sweet I had to buy some to take home with me. By the way the hot sauce is in the shape of a fire hybrid. Side not my wife really liked the smell of the soap in the restrooms. This place is my new place to go and I'm going to recommend it to anyone of my friends that will listen. read more
