A lovely platter with shrimp salad and potatoes. A mouth watering brunch. Happy and conversive waitress

I already posted a review but Yelp just keeps taking them down. SO here we go again. Decent food, a little expensive, but typical for restraints attached to museums and other touristy areas. Staff was friendly and prompt. There are too many high top tables, people stood around waiting for regular tables as many adults don't like the uncomfortable chairs and some kids can use them safely. They could serve more people faster if they got rid of the high tops.

Location is beautiful, the restaurant seems nice. Probably their greatest asset is that their people are super friendly and helpful. My wife had a fruity Arnold Palmer, which she really enjoyed. The kids meals are a little on the pricey side, but generously portioned, so it seems fair. We shared a hot roast beef and provolone sandwich, which was really perfectly serviceable; not a standout, but not terrible. The dill potato salad had next to no dill flavor, and the cole slaw was swimming in an exceedingly tangy dressing. Overall? Nothing was BAD... it just wasn't good enough that I would go out of my way to go back.

    Great food and amazing views!

We stopped here after visiting Tryon Palace. The service was excellent, the place clean and the terrace was breezy and had a great view. We had a hunkering for hotdogs and were not disappointed by the pastrami dog and a made to order snap dog! The seasonal drinks were delicious and our servers were helpful and super friendly! Especially Tiffany (from NY!). Stop by to check them out!

This place was great! Lots of light and healthy options on a hot day. I got the platter with shrimp salad, and green salad. I picked fruit salad and chips for my sides. The shrimp salad was amazingly good. The fruit salad included fresh plumbs, strawberries, all kinds of mellon- so good!!! The servers were friendly. We happened to be there on a day that was packed due to the Jane Austen summer program happening, and we still got our food pretty fast. Also, I saw the kitchen staff wearing gloves and hairnets, which was very comforting! Ambiance was beautiful, by the river.

Came to yelp for a good lunch spot while working in New Bern today. Got there about 11:30 already packed outside by the water. Tiffany was my waitress and was very attentive. Had the pastrami on toasted white. Potatoes salad needs some spicing up, but was fresh. Sandwich was very filling and tea was good. I suggest get there before noon or you will be waiting, especially on a nice day! Plenty of parking and little shops around if you want a little something. Bathroom was clean too.

This was a made to order Turkey, Swiss, Cole slaw, thousand island dressing on marble rye grilled. And Chicken Noodle Soup.

Outstanding sandwich. Very Accommodating servers. Everyone was friendly. Busy place but worth it.

We visited Lawson's On The Creek today after we couldn't get to the Cherry Point Airshow. That's a story for another day! So that our trip from High Point wasn't totally wasted we decided to visit New Bern and have lunch. We asked a local on a bicycle where he recommended and he said "Lawson's!" He said he was on his way there too! The food was tasty and we would definitely return if in the area. The tea was perfect 1/2 and 1/2 sweet/unsweet. I love tea! The roast beef was tender and the turkey tasty. The panini tots were something new and different. We sat outside to enjoy the nice day. They even have a section on the menu for pups! A pup cup, cut up chicken or a hot dog! So cool! It's tucked behind the museum so you may have to hunt for it but don't give up!

We had to do a quick reshuffle of our plans, but made it back. My FIL, the reason we even got plates anyway (part of his Father's day), had to eat alone. I have spent a lot of my life in restaurants, if you can't give credit..most of the time you can ..then a manager usually personally apologizes. This one never stepped to the front, answered my call, nor called me. The sweet kid that took the order was so embarrassed and apologized so many times. His MANAGER should have done that. Also, NO we weren't ugly, Hubby even talked the sweet kid down when he was upset. When you have a first time customer and a mess up, as a Manager YOU step up. An I'm sorry goes a long way. As for the food, once we got it, it was great. I mean not the fries though, they were soggy, who likes soggy fries?

We had dinner there again a couple weeks ago and while he didn't get the ribeye he ordered, the ribeye he got was delicious. I got the Chinese-style ribs & slaw special. I almost ordered the duck special but I can make good duck at home. My ribs are hopeless. The server described these ribs as a small plate but I got 9 tasty ribs and the slaw was the perfect acidity to cut the sweet, heavy richness of the ribs. I generally don't care for 5 spice powder; it's usually too cinnamon or too cloves forward but these were perfect. Also, if you've never tried their South African Pudding, do yourself a favor and order it next time. It's like a cold bread pudding a bed of caramel and topped with whipped cream (but last night, it seemed like marshmallow cream). Never a disappointment and glad to have a great steak option in New Bern.

Didn't happen to us, but when we arrived, there was indeed a train sitting there, and some cars in front, well, they weren't going anywhere anytime soon. Inside is all vibes, kind of set up like an old pharmacy, but slinging cocktails instead, and I have to say, the cocktails were very tasty and well priced. All the tables were full of friend and family groups playing board games and enjoying various flatbreads and libations. Seems like the kind of place the local neighborhoods enjoy and spend quite a bit of time at. At the moment, can't remember the names of the cocktails we got, its been a few months. But I do remember the toasts. This place doesnt have a kitchen in a traditional sense, more like a prep area where they bring ingredients together (that I imagine are made off site) and toast it up to present you with some pretty unique combos and flavors. Honestly, a great way around some of the health code restrictions that start to apply to more in-depth operations while still having a robust menu. We ordered a variety for the 4 of us, as this was dinner that evening. Gettin Figgy with it was a favorite, as were the Pig and the Goat, and the Reuben. Their version of a Cubano was alright, but as could be the case you'd imagine, the pork was a little dry. The caprese was the only one we got that seemed to be a universal thumbs down, the avocado spread wasn't working with the other ingredients. Definitely would come back for some of these toasts, and drinks!

I tried the Spiced Whiskey Mule, which was decent--more of a lemon taste than I expected--but then tried the Minty Cherry Mojito which I really enjoyed. We were intrigued by all the fun toasts, so we ordered several to share. My favorites were: Gettin' Figgy With It (cute names, for sure); The Pig and the Goat; and the Reuban. We did not enjoy the Caprese toast. Something about the avocado spread did not jive with the other ingredients. This is a great space for a small group friends. It's been intentionally set up with sitting areas and a wall of games you can choose from. You may struggle to find a seat and it's a place where people will park and sit for a while.
