For a casino bar, it seems strange to me they only take cash. However a $2 beer is always a delight, even if it's in a plastic cup.

Can't say too much about the gambling here because I didn't donate a lot but it surprised me when I…read moredid a full walkthrough and noticed that there is a second floor full of machines as well. If this is your first time in here like mine, you can explore around and find many many Nook and crannies like you've entered little rooms of machines, it's pretty neat. I'm sure it would get tiring after a while or many trips back to here. What I like about here is there are table games like most medium casinos. I would consider this as one and the table limits are low, for example, $5 as compared to $10 or $25 at large Casino like Choctaw or WinStar. Also there is a food court here (kun1 a mall) I guess for the budget-minded food consumer here instead of the expensive restaurants that amplify their menu prices. It was closed this particular Sunday but I could tell it would be a good value to eat here and not worry about going outside for something cheaper down the road. At last there are drink stations here for your beverage enjoyment pleasures because the cost is free hundred for each cup and the unique thing that I like about here is this is the only Casino where I've seen where they dispense SOFT SERVE ICE CREAM (gasp!) in a cup!!!! McDonald's has left the chat. Connected to the hotel are numerous ballrooms and hotel with a garage connected in the back but parking is ample out front as well and there is valet parking.

Just left hotel casino after three days. Not one win between my husband and I. We spent at least…read more$3000. Keno is our game, been playing for years, I even wrote a book about it, called Keno Gold, the Ultimate Guide to Win. However, we tried every Keno machine that was working; 10 machines, 2 broken down. If you know anything about Keno, then you should expect to hit at least one 5 pattern. Never in my life have I had such an experience. There was nothing hitting in the casino at all. I use to own The Little Horseshoe and the Jubilee in Texas, besides working for Harrah's, and the Venetian: So this was a shock that there was absolutely "no" five spots, six spots, definitely no seven or eight spots that hit. Not even the old stand by, bar tender numbers of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. It's as though the chips that was in the machine, had a 100% block for any groupings. I was beyond words, stunned. I have made a lot of money playing Keno, so I am not a novice. But this experience at the Grand Casino in Shawnee, Ok., was terrible. What ever the Grand Casino has going on, and how those Keno machines are set up, it is definitely working for them. Customers have to suck it up, because, they are taking the money; giving nothing back, except frustration and pain. At first, I was surprised that the New Casino Management, would have the machines so tight, but that is exactly the word. It was not a pretty picture, tight, stingy, and greedy. You would expect to get a few wins, here and there, to keep playing, but there was nothing. Nothing... I was mystified, then I was mad, like, I was on a mission to prove the Grand was not so underhanded. I wanted to prove at least one of their Keno machines would pay something. But No, there was nothing to show for our playing for three days, except, frustration. And for that, I give the Casino an "F" in the effort to keep returning customers, but the losses like this was a blow to my ego and my money. This trip was very bad, Decided to drown my sorrows in a cup of ice cream, but ther was no soft serve ice cream in their machines, and the soda area was filthy. It took an hour to get a cup of ice cream, but them they had no spoons. WOW. We went to Grand Stand Sports Bar, for our dinner. We ordered, Sprite, and Dr Pepper. Waitress was good, got seated right away, got our drinks zippity split. Was trying to read their new menu, but the coloring, and the font is script and for us, bordered on the impossible to read. So We ask for Taco salads. They no longer had taco salad,m no Chicken wings, No nachos, no burgers, no chicken fried steak, but they did have Pizza. Seriously., that's all? While we were trying to decide, there was all this hammering and pounding going on. Right across from our table a worker was building some sort of cabinet. My husband has hearing aids, so everything is amplified. We asked the waitress, how long that was going on. She said, they have been doing it all day. We knew we could not enjoy any type of meal in an atmosphere like that. We said we had to leave; the waitress understood, and did not charge us for the drinks. We left. We got a taco bowl mixture at the food court. The spicy meat was good, , but the fried rice and beans, not so much. Chips had a funky smell and taste. But the meat was good. Left most of our meal, and decided there was nothing else to do but go gamble. Like I said, that was a mistake from the start. Moving on to the Spa. My husband had a wonderful pedicure and a full hour of back massage. He loved Renee and Trinity. Well worth the trip. Then he went swimming in the 100 degree heat. The card reader would not read my card, nor my husband's card to get in or out of the pool area. Another guest helped us. Now the room. Two queen beds, really comfortable. the refrigerator, didn't work. So we waited on maintenance. Come to find out, there is no maintenance man for hotel. Finally they found someone but didn't really get it fixed, so they replaced it. The toilet kept filling with water. It would wait for awhile, then fill again. It was constant. We kept the door shut, so we didn't have to listen to it. The air didn't work, so they had to fix that. The big curtain was off it's rail, so we kind of pushed the chair over to hold it in place. Really lame what we had to do. At some point, they had to have had pets in that room, because there were fleas, as well as two pesky flies. The front desk staff was really nice, as was the security guard at the elevators. Breakfast each morning at the Grand Cafe. Truly great. Wait staff, food, everything was perfect. Friendly, absolutely great service. . The second night, we ignored the Sports Bar, and the Food Court, we ordered through Door Dash: Panda Express for me, and Rib Crib for my husband. Great food. The Bell Boys. All super great, conscientious and professional. Overall, we will not be back to play Keno.

I have a small service dog that rides on my scooter. I went there and I know the rules about not bringing in outside drinks or food. I didn't. I had an empty water bottle that one of the nicer older casino workers took the empty bottle to fill it up, so my service dog could have a drink. I got the bottle and I put some water in a little dish that I take with me. My dog got her drink. My husband and I was playing and a young girl came over said she was assistant manager, and security said I brought in outside water. I explained what happened. She walked away. 5 minutes later she was back, she said my scooter was taking up too much room. I was sitting on my scooter , not able to just get off it. It was parked sideways in front of two machines , my husband was on the third machine and we were both playing the middle machine as well. So we were playing three machines, She told me, I needed to open up that machine for other people to play, that I needed to play only one machine. We moved to a table top machine, so I would be out of the way. Then she came back. she said security said I came in with the water bottle. They watched me on camera bring it in. I told her, yes I brought in the bottle but it was empty, the casino worker filled up the water bottle. She said I was a liar, I brought it in. Of course I did, but it was empty. I protested about her calling me a liar, and said I wanted to speak to the manager. the manager was also a younger woman. No matter what I said, I was told I was a liar. They refused to ask the employee about filling up the bottle. They did not want my husband, me, my service dog or my motorized scooter in their casino. I turned in my players cards and have never gone back. That was over a year ago. I used to be a diamond player with Harrahs, until I moved to Oklahoma and there was no Harrahs. But if this new Harrahs Iowa casino has the same management, the same two women, I will never go there. I live fivee minutes from Harrah's new Iowa casino which is now right across the street from the old one. But even so, the management of the older Iowa casino is horrible, and if it happens again, you can bet I will no longer just take their abuse. I came from Texas, I held my temper then, i was respectful, but I was disrespected. I was a nice Texas woman, but now I have been in Oklahoma long enough to know there are some people who are just meaner than a junk yard dog. The treatment I received at the hands of these women was appalling. They were smug and just plain nasty. Their welcome to Oklahoma attitude showed me that giving authority and a title to young women is truely a mistake. Like I said if they are at the new Harrahs, I will not be a customer. I will continue going to the Grand Casino in Shawnee.

I definitely recommend finding a seat under the tarp, it was comfortable there. The whole process from getting the tickets to getting off the boat was very smooth and easy. We paid $15 for a 45 min. Boat ride. Worth every penny! Our driver, David, was awesome we were laughing the entire time. It's a quick 30-45 minute water cruise on a man‑made canal that's only about 3-4 feet deep, so you definitely have to go in with the right mindset and make the best of it. Our taxi wasn't too crowded, and since we had time to kill, it ended up being a perfect, easy outing. Trying to avoid a crowded ride is definitely recommended. The ride doesn't stop, not that seen!
