The place is extremely dirty and rundown. I don't think they have cleaned it since the day it opened. The casino staff stands around and chats instead of doing work. The food and beverage was much better. They were friendly and helpful. There was a lady at the blackjack tables that was asking everyone to buy popcorn to support her daughter. I have been going to thunderbird casino for years. I am considered a "VIP". I cant even start to count how much money I have spent here, and never once got a jackpot on a machine. The reason I go, is for the VIP gifts. If you work on a weekday, don't expect to be able to receive your VIP gift after work. They don't order enough for the people that work. It is frustrating to drive all of that way out there, to be told that they are out of the gift for that day, "but we are giving you $40 in free play that expires in 24 hours". What a waste of time. i recently went out there on a wednesday which is half price senior day for the buffet which has consistently good food the last 20 years. They now offer no ante which is the charge that some casinos charge not-mandatory for table games sunday-wednesday good thing. i get my catfish dinner with a side salad SO GOOD. go to play my ten dollar a hand 2 deck blackjack game and it has been removed! As i was already there i decided to play a 6 deck black jack game also 10 ten dollars a hand had some luck won some money but am in NO hurry to go back as their are NO comps for table players as they used to give you a food ticket no more and no credit for free-play or free anything SO SAD! read more

We always have a good time when we come here. This is our first time back since social distancing began. There is wipes and hand sanitizer in a lot of different spots for your convenience. The food is always delicious. I ordered the chicken quesadilla and my husband ordered the steak quesadilla and they were both packed with meat and cheese. They still have the free drink stations. I tried a couple of new games but the most fun I had was on the big buffalo game. I have to take away a star because it is extremely smokey inside. Even through my mask it was bothering me and burning my eyes. I also miss the western theme it used to have there. It was much cuter decorated inside and now it doesn't have much personality. read more

I always win and leave with more money than I came in with when I go to Thunderbird. It may seem like a long drive from someone who lived in Edmond, but it's a really nice drive at night and when you get to the casino it's never busy so you always get to get on the games you want to play. For the few years that I lived in Oklahoma, Thunderbird always seemed to be doing some sort of construction or moving games around or taking out old games and switching with new games, so it's not too stagnant. You can always find a close parking space, as the parking lot is hardly ever full. I think most people don't know T-bird is out there. It is kind of out in the middle of now where. But there is a gas station in front of it and huge lights indicating a casino. Just watch out for deer or armadillos or other wildlife that scamper around in the dark hours of the eve. When I went they had free soda's which a lot of casinos have but we'd fill up on soda and throw a couple of dollars around and just enjoy hanging out with our friends at night. It may seem hokey and lame to some as far as decor and landscaping and outside appearance, but it's one of the nicer more quiet casinos in OK. read more

Visited again after the upgrading of their machines and the place is pretty happening! A good-sized crowd was there (though you could still find two machines sides by side if you looked) and I actually won some $ (not a truckload but more than I went in with)! I liked the Star Wars slots which came complete with light saber sounds (see photo). What really makes this place special though, like I mentioned in my previous review, is the staff. They're personable, thoughtful, and kind- always keeping an eye on my elderly grandparents (who still tip according to the going rate in the 1940s so you know these people are being nice to them because they have good hearts, not because they're expecting to make any extra money). Thunderbird's employees make the scenic drive down Highway 9 more than worthwhile and you can make some cash and get your photo taken beside plastic horses all in one trip- can't beat that with a stick, I'm telling you. read more

There was a "Karaoke contest" but it was a total ringer. Many contestants were told who the winner was gonna be before they announced it weeks before the contest. Even the night of the finale the winners were telling people they knew they won , the other contestants had nothing on them! Haha if your gonna do a contest you might want do a contest instead of Ringer. People with talent didn't get a chance to win why? Because you already knew who was gonna win and the MC actually said on stage to one of the winners she is my favorite hmm kind of strange when this is a "fair" contest but the top two winners are part of thunderbird casino and one is in a band! How fair is that ? Karaoke is for fun and for people that enjoy having a good time not people that sing for a living. Especially people that put money into your casino this is some bullshit maybe the next time you need to tell us all who we need to pay or buy drinks like the winners did the night before,oh and please tell me why the 2nd place winner hugged all the security and the wait staff treated her like royalty ?? The casino does NOT give BIG payouts! Hello? They lie, they lure you in like a fish and snag you, reel you in, skin you and that's all they want, your money, your home, your savings, your credit card limit, everything! I went a lot and still didn't get called but a couple of times, after a time or two they stiffed me forever more, it's been years since they chose me for a 'hot seat'. Vicious to the bone. Firelake Grand recently had staff murder a man upstairs in a bathroom while he screamed for help. They held back his mother while they kicked him to death! Don't go alone! I witnessed two men in black harassing a woman who had been served too much to drink by a waitress. They were on her like hornets as she played her machine, not bothering anyone, just a little unstable in her chair. They kept threatening her so, I sat by her and talked to her, glared at them to make them leave her alone. They do not appreciate anyone and will hurt you! Soverign immunity because of being indian is what they use to cover their crimes! Our city government won't do one thing to keep these indian casinos honest or hold them responsible for what they do to you! That's a fact I found out first hand. My husband and I went to Thunderbird Casino today (8/24/2013) to see for ourselves what it is like. The place was not real crowded, and the employees were most helpful at the front desk. Despite the place not being significantly crowded, the smoke in the casino was overwhelming and oppressive. (Mind you, we are smokers--although we do not partake in public when there are other nonsmokers around.) After about a half hour or so, my eyes were burning, and I developed sort of a tightness in my chest much like being squeezed by a tight bear hug. The airflow was minimal in most areas of the casino. Smoking patrons were moderate, however. Since this was our 'first' time in this casino and we signed up for the rewards card, we were given $10 in promotional cash. The slots were EXTRAORDINARILY tight, and we quickly went through our bankroll without any significant episodes of winning anything. We realize that playing slots has its ups and down, but this bordered on the ridiculous. Usually, there are some small wins and sometimes even pretty good wins that can have you playing for a few hours or so, but this was not so at Thunderbird. Save yourself the drive and save your money. I do recognize that it could possibly have been a totally off day as far as winning anything at the slots--that happens. However, considering the wretched air quality, we won't be going back to this casino. read more
