I've been here many times over the years. It's down the street from the school I used to teach at. We had a retirement party outside in a tent last night and it was catered. Other than it being abnormally hot to the point that being outside was not comfortable, the set up of the space, the price of drinks and the efficient bar tender, and the nice apps, buffet and dessert, it was a good experience. I'm sorry to do this but it's gunna be a low rating for me. I walked in and it's was beautiful but the smell was heavy and I couldn't tell you what it was but it was not pleasant. I wanted to love this place and went for a special occasion. The staff is friendly but service is so incredibly slow. We sat down at 7:30 and left at 9:30!!! It was like a frat house with the staff, staff everywhere chatting it up and so many staff and barely any customers on a Saturday night and I can see why. The food is pretty good but not good enough for the slow moving service. We watched staff, chat, walk around aimlessly and completely just stand around as we waited for water refills, food to be ordered and even getting our to go boxes was crazy long. Completely ruined the night. There was zero reason with that much staff and that little of WEEKEND customers to not be inefficient for service time. The place was pretty and the stuff was great but the food was not good enough for such an awful experience. Also this is mom's comfort type food so good warm friendly prompt service would make it a hit. Told my friends and they said same happened to them. Anniversary dinner ruined. read more

Some of the best nachos we have had. Fireside Burger was excellent as was the smash burger. Southwest salad was also delicious. Fish and chips look unbelievable. Our server needs some training on how to take care of people. 3 people at the host station and the one who offered to help literally had food in her mouth and continued to munch on whatever while we waited less than a minute for them to set a table. Not a good first impression, but managers made up for it checking with patrons. We will be back and highly recommend Fireside! read more

I went here with the holidays and was a big fan. The prime rib was so tender and juicy. I was very impressed. We got the chicken wings and arancini for apps, the chicken wings were juicy and crispy. Definitely the move to get the sauce on the side. Atmosphere was nice, not too loud or crazy. A little bit of an older crowd though. Service was great, our waitress was great at tending to our needs. I went with my riding family for brunch with my hubby and 30 of my other friends. The food was abundant with a lot of variety. Everything was fresh looked very nice. When we first came in. It was average for a Sunday doing the fact it was brunch and a lot of things going on also baby shower it was kind of loud! He went into check out the buffet. It started off with a couple of green salads as well as a fresh fruit salad. I didn't really like that didn't taste like fresh fresh then it had different kinds of pastries croissants, etc. Then it had scrambled eggs as well as home fries, next came eggs Benedict. They were out of it at first by when went back like the third time they had some it was good, but the English muffins really weren't cooked. They then had bacon and sausage , They also had their waffles and homemade cinnamon rolls. They had a prime rib hash. As well as baked ham with pineapple. Next they had fried chicken with the hash, then they had chicken, broccoli ziti, and then they had sausage with peppers and onions. Then the last thing you came to they had a nice small tenderloin of beef with horseradish sauce, or a jus. Their dessert section was very well filled with different things. They had an chocolate fountain with probably 20 different things between fruit and cookies and brownies, cream, puff things and etc. that you could dip in the chocolate fountain. They also had some macaroons they had coffee cake. They had donuts like cinnamon, plain powdered that type of thing several different kinds of cookies. Again, as I said, everything was wonderful. The only thing I really didn't like was that the home fries were overly seasoned so it was super spicy. The hash was very salty, but I think it was because it was made with prime rib and you have the seasonings from the crust on the prime rib that kind of like flavors the hash. And the English muffins that were under the eggs Benedict were not cooked. Other than that, everything was fantastic. I my husband and our riding family really had a great time. Lexi our bartender swiftly poured a cold coors light draft and mixed a margarita with raspberry chambord for my wife We each got the soup of the day chicken tortilla, perfect for a rainy is it spring yet? Saturday afternoon. Plenty of fresh chicken, black beans, corn and flavor! The tricolor nacho strips blended perfectly though I would have preferred more strips for a taste in every spoonful Wife had the seafood stuffed mushrooms from the appetizer menu generous portion and plenty of seafood, not too heavy on the breadcrumbs I ordered the arancini I was a little disappointed the rice filling was mushy don't think I would order this again not a dealbreaker Fireside is still worth another visit as the service was efficient and friendly and Heather, oh such a beautiful smile, another one of the bartenders made sure my beer was cold and my glass was chilled. Went Friday night. Food was ok nothing special. While we were waiting for or food I noticed a couple who were just seated said something to their waiter and he brought them a different menu than we had received. I questioned our waitress and she didn't know what that was would find out. When she came back she said it was a specials menu they offered Monday thru Friday for only people who made reservations. (Huh?) A specials menu for only customers who make reservations. Never heard of such a thing. The ambiance is fine but if the food isn't great the ambiance is not a big issue. read more

I am usually very happy with Fireside Grille. We have gone there many times over the years for brunch or dinner and have held multiple special events in their banquet room. However, I am severely disappointed with them today. I called on April 4th to make Mother's Day reservations. I SPECIFICALLY asked if they would be having a special brunch. They told me that there was nothing scheduled. Their regular Sunday Brunch is $25/$15 for adults/children. I made a reservation for 10 people and budgeted for $230+tip. They called today to confirm the reservation. They are now having a special Mother's Day Brunch and the price has gone up to $45/25. My 10 person brunch is now $406+tip. ​ I mentioned that I had been told that there wasn't a special brunch scheduled when I originally made the reservation. Their response was that they "always have a Mother's Day Brunch." Why was the person I spoke to on April 4th, not aware of this? Why was the person that they went to speak to when they put me on hold to verify if there was a Mother's Day Brunch aware of this? It is now 5 days before Mother's Day and our brunch is going to be NEARLY DOUBLE what was originally planned. I would love to be able to cancel and just make other plans, but it is FIVE DAYS before Mother's Day and there is nothing available anywhere. We didn't want anything fancy. Probably 80% of the "special menu" is irrelevant. We just wanted a regular brunch. We wanted to be able to get together as a family and spend some time together. Now even that will be an issue as there is a limit on the amount of time that we will be allowed to be there. Based on previous "special event brunches" that we have attended at Fireside Grille, half of that time will be spent waiting in line to get our meals. read more

Party of 4. Went out for a belated birthday celebration and had a great evening. We started with wings and the pretzel. Both were delicious. For entrees we had New England Haddock, Mac and Cheese with Bacon, the Reuben, and Fish and Chips. All were hot and delicious. We didn't have any leftovers. We also split some desserts, the brownie sundae and the apple crisp and both were great. The restaurant was very busy so I would call it an excited atmosphere, but we didn't mind. This restaurant had a very large party in the regular dining room instead of another appropriate area. It was noisy as servers were cleaning up while we tried to order. Not sure why they seated us there. My husband had the "meatloaf special" which wasn't very special and was dry. I had a smash burger which was very underwhelming. If you got food from the buffet and were in the other dinning room had to cross the entrance way. Food: went for brunch and the food was very good, cuts of prime rib were generous. Food was buffet style with a wide range of options. There was a lack of clear indicators what good contained allergens Drinks: got brunch drinks they were good quality. Would recommend the mimosa Service: service was average, however server got bad information regarding allergies when talking to the kitchen Noise: loud, screaming children and loud adults to the point it was rude Recommendation: would absolutely recommend the brunch food, but would recommend a reservation (we had one, wait was around 30 minutes without) as well as asking for seating away from the chaotic entrance. The Fireside Grille used to be my family's 'special occasion' restaurant. So after a long break, we're back! We were celebrating my Mom's 86th birthday. We had a reservation for 12:00 pm for the Sunday Brunch Buffet. We were seated promptly, and drinks and coffees were quickly delivered. Once the guest of honor arrived, we hit the buffet in a couple of waves. The buffet runs 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, and we weren't rushed at all. A carving station with perfectly cooked medium-rare prime rib and plenty of other choices, both breakfast and lunch. Eggs benedict, bacon, sausage, French Toast casserole, pastries and desserts of all types. Stuffed shells, waffles, prime rib hash, fruit salad, home-fries and hash browns. Plus a whole lot more. They even had a chocolate fountain. The buffet was very reasonable at $24.95 for adults, especially considering the recent cost increases across the board. Not worth it for someone like my 86 year old Mom, but the rest of us certainly got our money's worth. Service was excellent and a team effort. One minor quibble, they do egg dishes to order, but our waitress didn't mention it. read more

Our server Doug made us feel at home, gave us time to get settled, order and even offered to bring the kids meals out first which made dinner more relaxing for the adults. Fireside is a South Shore classic and hidden gem for out of towners. My girlfriend and I come here at least once a week for quite a few reasons: 1. The environment is incredible. Depending on the night you come in and the atmosphere you're expecting you'll find it. Enter the door and you're immediately greeted by a friendly hostess staff. Turn right and you've got a nice sit down area for families and folks who want a quieter atmosphere. Turn left and you're in the bar area with one of the coolest and larger styled bars in the area. The bar features a large hearth as a centerpiece and really catches the eye when you walk-in giving you its namesake. 2. The staff are professional, outgoing, and more importantly friendly and knowledgeable. We have been coming here as regulars for the better part of 6 months and if you see Liz, Ian, or Ashley tending bar Thursday-Sunday you know you're going to have a great night. 3. The food. The food is outstanding. I'm a creature of habit and usually rotate between clam chowder, the salad, the Seafood pasta, the ribeye... but the main food feature that keeps us coming back is the Prime Rib. Let me just say the Prime Rib here is the GOLD STANDARD dining establishments should strive to achieve. Perfectly cooked and seasoned... the medium rare prime rib is a perfect blend of salty and savory and might be delivered from the heavens. The au jus that accompanies really helps to bring out the flavor that keeps our mouths watering and coming back for more. Our compliments to the chef who really put this place back on the map for us. My only critique of the Fireside are the hours of operation and how quick the prime rib runs out! Wish it was open just a bit later and the rib lasted a little longer! Both are good problems to have and don't merit less then a five star. Keep doing what you're doing! read more

I would give the food a 4 star rating - it was delicious. My husband ordered the cioppino which came with crusty bread he had to ask for the bread and he was almost halfway finished before it arrived. I had the haddock which was delicious. Service was disappointing. When the restaurant was busy Meg was attentive, after our meal was delivered she never checked to see if everything was fine. Also the fine print says you can get a side salad for $3.99 with the order of an entrée, we asked which salads it applied to and she said all of them so we ordered 2 greek salads. When we got our bill we were charged $8.99 for the salads and when we pointed it out Meg said she miss understood us, even though I was pointing to the $3.99 salad statement. Then we ordered 2 glasses of red wine and 3 boxes to go - we waited and waited and waited. Finally we asked a busser if Meg was still around. She came out and blamed the bartender for the delay, yet when they were busy the drinks came faster. Then Meg brings the wine and spills it all over splashing onto my semi-new grey sweater. Someone ran to their car and got a Shout towelette but it's dark in there and I didn't get out all the spots. Not much flavor, which was disappointing. My friend had the roast beef dip, which she said was very heavy. I'll start with the outdated ambiance and decor (or lack there of) nothing hideous, just tired and boring. The old ugly faux wood w/heavy square top with heavy medal base. Clean, the lighting is appropriate, not too bright not too dark. There's a good sized bar in the left side dining area which is the more attractive side, better ambiance, however there is a section of the bar near the back wall where they have seating set up right near the kitchen door...servers coming in and out serving an event room off the side corner with giant hot pans, squeezing through patrons trying to enjoy a cocktail and conversation. It's dangerous and the servers seem annoyed. We paid $22 for an ipa and Tito's/soda which is comparable to the city, not a small town outdated venue, not to mention the cocktail was skimpy and overfilled with ice. Food was sub par. I had a salmon dish which was over cooked and dry, the rice was horrible, clearly a boxed or bagged pre seasoned deal, the broccoli was cooked well but no seasoning not was the dish served with a lemon wedge which would e helped with that as well as the dry fish. Lastly and this was strange, but we received rolls and butter which is hard to screw up, the rolls were warm, slathered some butter on and but into what I thought tasted like a jam or jelly. I thought maybe I was served a dietary knife with residue on it but lo and behold, there butter is flavored with something sweet, like you would spread on corn bread at a bbq joint, NOT on a dinner roll preceding a various types of meals like prime rib or salmon. Just wrong and the rolls alone were blah so missed out on what of our favorites pre meal nibbles. Would not recommend this place with all the great choices in that area you can def do better. read more

I'd like to give it 3 & 3/4 stars. Just on the sandwich but everything else was great. Very friendly staff, customer service was too notch. There is just about something on the menu for everyone. I was debating the Nashville hot chicken sandwich or the Rueben. I wish I got the chicken sandwich as the Reuben was kinda of the small side meat wise and not super tasty. It's not the big traditional style on marble rye. That being said the onion rings were fantastic and our waiter was on point. I will definitely be back for the Nashville hot chicken and of course the dinner rolls. read more
