Me and my kids were living in the house during the sale. Amy worked with my ex to set up fake showings with the private investigators he hired to spy on us and remove belongings from the house. She then lied about it when I confronted her. She is completely untrustworthy, and didn't do a very good job as an agent in general. Do not hire this firm!

We called a few local realtors and decided on Niego (Nee-go) after seeing all those bus benches up and down Archer Ave. A friend of ours had a good experience with Niego in selling her home, as the buyer's agent was Angela from Niego Realty. I called the office, answered a few basic questions about the kind of home we were looking for, and we were paired up with Brent Wilk. I'm not sure of the process in which we were matched up since I was put on hold for a few minutes until Brent picked up the phone, but however it worked, it was a good match. Brent made himself available to us at nearly all hours. He was answering my emails about the MLS listings well into the night, before we had even met! I was beginning to wonder if this guy had a life outside his job. However, Brent was aggressive in trying to get us our first home. Our first few outings with Brent weren't anything special. He showed us homes in the price range we were looking for, but assured us that after a few times out he'd get a feel for what we were looking for, and he was very, very right. He "got" us right away and understood our concerns for space, neighborhood safety, and location. He was very upfront about resale values, which neighborhoods were safer, and he also pointed out other homes he'd sold in the neighborhoods we were looking. We also got to meet with some other realtors in the agency, and everyone we talked with was more than polite and really seems to love their job. Paul H. was the seller's agent and was a really nice guy. He came into our closing with a big smile and ready to get the deal signed. Overall, I'd recommend this agency to any of my friends and family who are looking to buy and sell. We had a great experience with them and when we're looking to sell (though after the governmental paperwork loophole from hell, I doubt I'll be selling this house ever; they'll have to pry the keys from my cold, dead hands!) we'll definitely return to Niego.

After our introductions Alexandra provided efficient and fast service that I did not get from the other 4 agents I was working with trying to move here to Chicago. I did tell her i was running out of time and needed to move within the next week, the quality of options and the variety if options was exactly what I needed to see as I was getting stressed with the whole "moving in the summer to Chicago". She was very transparent and when we were dealing with difficult realtors she was not hesitant on reaching out for me to find out what the hold up was on their end to really get me in a place that I was interested in. Alexandra would send me morning texts to check on statuses if I was getting emails replied and getting in touch with the home owners. She did a really amazing job delegating my stress and communication with everyone I needed to all the way until i was officially moved in. At times I felt i was probably annoying her and I apologized for being antsy and she told me that everything was ok and that there was no need for me to apologize. Her goal was set to get me through this process as smooth as she can make it for me.. I will be sending all my friends her way and i will not use another agent as long as I live here in chicago!

She is very knowledgeable about various areas of Chicago as well as different properties which was a huge bonus. She's also extremely responsive and gets questions answered right away. I moved to Sterling Estates on May 21, 2026. I love it here. Dorothy Mayers assisted me being a 1st…read moretime home owner. She assisted me with all my questions & concerns. The staff was so nice & assisted me with anything that I needed . It's very quiet & my neighbors are so nice , they welcomed me to the neighborhood. I don't know where these 1 star ratings be coming from. I think it's very nice how Sterling Estates has everything set up , with the garbage removal , the rules for the yards& the no parking in the streets. It keeps everything in order & makes sure everyone can get through the road safely. I say, job nicely done. I haven't been living at Sterling Estates long , but I don't see where people are complaining about rodents when I've taken a ride through the neighborhood & some of these homes are eye sores. Some people got garbage & junk stored on their porch , just nasty. & junky looking. I've seen garbage sitting on the ground from overflow from the trash cans. Some tenants being too cheap to go to the office & let Dorothy know they need an extra trash can. Then I've seen some comments where people are complaining about rodents. I don't have any rodents in my house . I clean & mop everyday in my house & I haven't seen one rodent. The rodent issue is coming from these people that have these dogs not picking up their dog poop. Because I have it on my security camera where these people are taking their dogs & they let them piss & poop in other people yards. I have to clean up my flower bed & get dog poop out of my flowers bed, I got to go to Menards & get a fence to put up around my flowers to keep the dogs out . It's a Mexican man with a husky & he let his dog poop all in my flowers & in my drive way. I have to go out there everyday & get up his dog poop, just trifling. I be trying to catch him to tell him about his dog , but he be gone before I even get outside . Then some of the reviews are talking about the neighborhood is getting bad , it's getting bad because some of the people are lying on their applications to the staff . Because before you move in here , they ask you to give them the names of everybody that's going to be living with you. Some of y'all be lying on your applications to get in & once y'all get in , y'all be bringing these bad seeds in here & then you got issues getting Dr. Jeckel & Mr . Hyde out of your house; then y'all want to blame the staff for the neighborhood beings bad. Now , let's call a Spade a Spade & a Ace A Ace . You can't blame management for the stuff you're doing . Watch the company you keep & the company you bring . Everybody you can't invite to your house . When you level up on life , some people you just got to let go, you can't bring everybody with you. The staff isn't the issue , they're sweet as they can be . You can't be going to the staff demanding help & giving them attitude. You want something from them, but you coming at them with an attitude . You can attract more bees with honey. It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice to people. Like I said before , I've never had any issues with none of the staff nor managers , they're always sweet to me & always greet me with a smile . No issues here .

I started looking for agents on the internet. You would think that being one of the top-5 biggest cities in the US, Chicago is an easy city to find an agent in. WRONG! Every agent I called turned out to be a either a douchebag who "did not do rentals" or an asshole who "had nothing in my price range". After a few hours of looking for an agent, I was convinced that I will end up having to rely on outdated Trulia data and take my chances with open houses during our 1-day house-hunting trip. I ended up cursing at myself, Chicago, and all its real-estate agents and did what I typically do when I want to cool down: filled a bowl with plain yoghurt and took it to my bed to eat in peace. After devouring the first spoon of plain yoghurt, I came across Stephen's number on Yelp. I was pessimistic, but that one spoon had un-pissed me enough to give another agent a chance, so, I said, what the heck, I'll call this one too. Now, this was a cold depressing Sunday afternoon, so, nothing could really cheer me up and I wasn't expecting anyone to answer anyways. Still I called anyways. He answered the phone asking me the exact kind of questions I was expecting "how close do you want to be to the loop?", "how do you feel about spending $100 more to get a place that's closer". He then took time to explain to me how real-estate market works in Chicago (it is VERY different than Boston and San Francisco!). We exchanged emails and he put us through the smoothest apartment-hunting experience anyone in continental US has experienced.
