I've been in and out of Firestone in the last couple of months for help with my car. I was due for an inspection but ended up needing it very quickly. I called A BUNCH of places and noone could get me in for weeks... until I called Firestone. They worked me in the next day no problem at all. I did drop my car off and leave it all day and that helped. During the inspection they identified that I had a large nail in one of my tires and it was not repairable... it needed replaced. I called where I got the tires from as I thought it had road hazard, but it was out. I still wanted to get a matching tire to what I had so tried the dealers that sell me... could barely get through anywhere and when I did noone really wanted to help me. So I called Firestone back and they were again able to get me in the next day! Now they sell house brand tires - still a good tire but not matching what I had. I decided that would work and they had reasonable prices as well. The only reason I took it down a star was there was a slight communication blip that happened on tire replacement day that could have been handled better, but I also believe the employee was truly trying their best. There was a lot of business going in and out of here and they were steady busy all day and a new employee. I appreciate the help they provided. read more

You can see a trend of incompetence and poor management throughout the reviews, and this one really topped the charts. Dropped my car off for a simple oil change and inspection. The driver's window was taped up when I picked up my car. The mechanic did not tell me anything about my window when I received the call to pick it up. When asked about the window, the mechanic said he was unsure what happened. After he asked co-workers what happened I was told they rolled down the window and they couldn't get it back up, so they taped the window up to keep out water due to the rain. My window was just fine before, and I did not drop off my vehicle with the window taped up. I asked to speak to a manager and received the worst managerial experience of my life from Joe Suggs. He gave me two options: he could take the tape off and let the window fall, or I could drive away with the window taped up. He was dismissive, raised his voice, and insisted they roll down all the windows in every car before it is brought into the bay; they could not be held liable. I begged Joe to acknowledge how wrong it is for a customer to bring in their car for a service, only to leave with a bigger issue and he said it happens all the time. After pleading multiple times for him to make it right, he said they could fix the window if I bought the part: a $157.99+ tax part I never needed to purchase in the first place. He continued to raise his voice and avoid eye contact when asked why I should pay for a part that was not damaged when the vehicle was brought in. He insisted I was receiving a good deal since "he" was paying more for labor than I was for the cost of the park. He knew they messed up and did not want to admit it. I just wanted to be done with the interaction, so I agreed to his terms. He said "It ain't gonna happen today" (which I heard him tell multiple customers, must be his catchphrase) and I'd have to come back on Wednesday when the part arrived. This all took place on a Saturday. Wednesday I took my vehicle back to fix the window and received a call Thursday it was ready for pickup. Before paying I asked the mechanic to come out and show me how the window functioned. When he rolled down the window it fell. The work was not done properly. He said Ol' Joe Suggs was not in that Thursday and I would have to wait until he called me the next day. Called my neighbor and asked him to turn around (he just dropped me off), pick me up and give me a lift to work. Friday I did not receive a phone call and was not comfortable talking to Joe after receiving so much disrespect, so I called corporate. About an hour after filing a complaint with corporate, the area manager Scott Ebner gives me a call. This was the only time I received somewhat of an explanation as to what happened to my driver's window. Scott said that one of the window clips deteriorated and that it was bound to happen eventually. But it never happened in the 14 years I have owned the vehicle. He stated it was not their fault due to the deterioration. I asked Scott to give me some sort of assurance the work could be done properly because so far it seemed his technicians did not know how to fix the problem. He was unable to refer me to another shop and insisted I had to pay for the part. I agreed to wait and see how they did on the second attempt. Saturday arrives and my SPOUSE receives a call from Joe that they were unable to fix the window. They wedged it up to keep it from falling. I did not pay for the part but was left with a non-functioning window. I never received an apology from Joe or Scott. After looking through other reviews, it is clear management does not know how to service vehicles properly, speak with customers, or handle high-stress situations without yelling. An oil change and inspection ended with me being unable to use my car for a week, and a window that does not roll down. If I could give a 0 I would. I went there for a screw in my tire yesterday and they were not interested in helping or looking at the tires at all. Throw the whole building away please. In the field of automotive repair businesses, you either get: 1) Stations that cater completely to customer peace of mind and deliberately work to satisfy your needs at a fair price or 2) Stations that take their customers for granted and ask for repair costs that fetch them every single dollar in their wallet, bank account, and 501K. Firestone St. Charles Rock Road, thankfully, is not the latter. After getting pulled over because my bumper was falling to shreds, I had to find a place for a quick fix. Mind you, this was also at 7 A.M. in the morning. On a Sunday. Most auto repair shops are closed like they're a Chik-Fil-A counterpart. Anyways, long story short, I was desperate. So, after seeing that Firestone was the lone wolf open at 8 A.M., I bet my cards and went all in. The manager (I believe her name was Ashley) greeted me kindly and assured me they'd get it done in a jiffy. Knowing auto shops, I smirked in my head cus a "jiffy" could span from 1 hour to "Yeah, I'm gonna be late for work tomorrow". Low and behold, though, the repair only took 30 minutes and she didn't even charge me for the costs. That right there folks, is a rare species of 'Good customer service'. Knowing that they are true to their word, friendly, and speedier than Speedy Gonzales on a good day, I can fully see myself sticking to Firestone for the rest of my auto repairs. read more

The amount of time wasted... I bought 4 brand new tires for my 2020 ford fusion 2 months ago, for a ridiculous $1050, but at least they came with roadside hazard warranty. Last week, I hit something and caused a bad flat so go get a used tire. Call Firestone to schedule an appointment for repair/replacement with that warranty. When I get to the Firestone off Loughborough, the guy tells me he scheduled me for a "drop off". I didn't even know what that meant, but basically you just leave your car there and they'll get to it. I thought that was ridiculous since this is just changing a tire... I mean it should take 10 minutes why is someone leaving their car there all day. Anyways, I said no thanks and called the St Charles Rock Rd Firestone, he said I could only drop off that day but could book an appointment. Right after I said sure, he immediately says I can drop it off Monday morning at 8am... Idk why, but they don't like booking appointments for warranty replacements, I'm guessing because there's no money in it for them but I digress... I drop off this morning at 8am, literally as they're opening the doors. There's exactly 3 people in front of me, which one actually didn't get any work done. I tell the guy the flat is in the trunk, I have a used tire on the front passenger side, please put that tire in the trunk so I can go get a spare with that tire. I come back 2 hours later, and it's still not done. Wait about minutes and see a guy come in, with no appointment, and get new tires and leave within 10 damn minutes. I go ask the guy why mine isn't done, and says because you scheduled A drop off. Meaning they just get to it whenever they want? Now, I'm not sure what the benefits of this is for the customer, maybe they get something off the bill, but my tire is just a warranty replacement. The guy acts like it's my fault and he can't believe I wouldn't want to just drop the car off and let them help every other customer is walks in before me... goes to the back and gets a sheet and says they couldn't find a leak in the tire. They looked at all 4, and the other 3 are brand new, but the passenger front side had no leak... I'm bewildered and just ask did you guys check the wrong tire? I said the tire with the flat is in the trunk... he goes oh crap... I then yell at him that the damn tire they checked isn't even a Firestone tire, it's a michelen. Do they replace warranties for non Firestone tires? ... Let's just say it was a mutual agreement that it would be best for me to leave because I was irate. To the guy's credit, he did offer to fix the mistake after I calmed down. He was a fairly nice guy, just so incredibly dumb and bad at his job. This particular one on St. Charles RK RD there is a gentleman that works there that should only work on vehicles, if that . He keeps coming up front to talk to the customers about their concerns or check them in and each time he was very rude to the customer he suppose to be helping. (I got to see this personally since I had to wait over 3.5 hours to get a flat tire changed) In my opinion he should not be there at all. I believe he even scares customers off that do not like his horrible attitude. I too, had a few questions about my car and when talking with him, he was just as terrible. I would find another place to get your service done if I was you. read more

I was 20 yrs old when the mgr at Firestone talked me into bringing my new car in regularly. That was 42 yrs ago. I still have 4 cars but the service now is so iffy, I usually just go to the dealer. I wanted an oil chng and my Firestone tires rotated and told the mgr I had a slow leak at 8am. I got a call at 12:30 to p/u. With a line of people behind me I ask the mgr about the slow leak. He says "we didnt see anything" as he was hurrying along. You didn't see anything? I told you I had to put 9lbs of air in and it was a slow leak. "We didn't see anything, but if you want we'll pull it back in and actually place it in water to see where it's leaking". Are u gonna do that now? "No, I'll have to work you in, We're already locked on other work". So, I have to wait b/c you messed up? "I didn't mess up. We visually didn't see anything". I paid for my oil chng and left. If I couldnt trust this guy to not cut corners on a slow leak, there was no way I was gonna trust him on anything more serious. I went directly to Dobbs Tire and opened an acct. 42 yrs tossed away on an unthought out comment or a deliberate lie. Either way, Firestone will never see another penny from me. read more

Car had a flat at airport parking lot and husband called two days before we were getting back and asked what time they closed and what the situation was. I called day of and let them know what time I was arriving. Neither time did anyone tell us we needed an appt and that they didn't take anyone after 3:00. Both times we said we would be here after 4:00 and we were told they closed at 6:00. I got there and they refused to help me. Wouldn't even consider it. Then also told me that I couldn't have AAA help me on their lot. So had to move vehicle with flat tire to have AAA roadside help me. I understand being short handed which they were but I wouldn't have even tried it if they had told us the truth from the beginning. We could have chosen somewhere else to try to make it to for help had they been honest. Businesses should at the very least be honest up front about what they are willing to offer. The service is really hit or miss. If you don't want to be taken advantage of, then you either really need to know about cars or really do your research. I've being going there for a couple years and the service has been par. The prices have been high, but the location is convenient, so I've gone there when I needed to. However, after the most recent experience, I am never going back. They recommended two services that I know I don't need (cabin air filter replacement and protective car battery coating). Then they overcharged me for a car battery and shorted me on my coupon. I didn't realize it until I got home. I contacted the manager. He said that he didn't know what battery he put in my car and that I needed to check myself to see if the coupon was appropriately applied. In short, he did not apply it right. I would not recommend them to anyone. read more

I took my 2015 truck to them for a simple Missouri State inspection. Drove the truck right home and woke up the next day with a low tire pressure in a single tire, expecting it to have been cause by the cold weather I just put 5psi in it and I drove it a little. Woke up Monday with a low tire again, scheduled and appointment on Tuesday to get it looked at. I had to stand by the counter for 15 minutes because the desk worker was on the phone with a very upset customer, once she asked him to hold, I was told they were running behind. After 1 1/2 hours of my truck being "actually" being looked at I was told they couldnt find a leak, valve looked good so they just reset the tire. Told me it was a bad tire sensor. Knowing that was lie because I had used two different tire gauge and have filled the tire with an extras 40 psi at that point the tire would have exploded if it had not been leaking. Still had to pay the $21 for them not to find the leak. Tire started to lose pressure right away called them back and they told me they couldn't fit me but if I wanted to take the tire off myself and leave it with them I could. I did just that and found the leak within a minute. A small crack on the inter tire wall which can't be fixed. Drove the tire to them first thing in the morning to be told they could sell me a new tire for $275, couldn't do much of a deal because I was only buying one tire. Becoming upset I asked for a refund of $21 since they couldnt find the leak....a tire store that can't find a leak in a tire....what level of employees do they hire. Funny because the tires had 11,000 miles on them. I had never had a problem with the tires, didn't hit anything between the time I had the inspection and the leak started and only put 50 miles on the tire, half of which was spent going back and forth to the store. These guys are scam artists, came in for a simple state inspection to get the sales pitch of a new tire sensor, $21 tire check fee and then a brand new tire. Do not trust this store... they damaged my tire to get an extra sale and I had to fight to get the $21 credit back on them not finding the leak in the first place. Terrible store...customers beware Don't think the customs care response means anything. Sent them all of the documents never heard anything back... corporate problem read more

I came in without an appointment the day before Christmas eve with a flat tire. I was on a time crunch and the manager made my car a priority. Turned out I had a nail in my almost new tire in a spot that couldn't be patched, and a new tire was going to be very expensive. The store manager was so kind and let me purchase insurance on the tires before I got the new tire so it became much more affordable and I would be protected for future cases. They put on the new tire and had me back on the road in no time. This is by far some of the best customer service I have ever experienced. Lyenn the manager took the time to show me exactly where my tire was punctured and why it couldn't be patched, then went out of his way to make it work for me in a timely and efficient way. I brought my car in on 11/17 around 5pm or so and left it to have them look at it the next day due to my car wouldn't start 2 days in a row and had to get a jump both times. It is currently 7pm on 11/18 and i just got my car back maybe 20 mins ago due to there was some mishap where there was no service ticket put in or found for my car so it had been sitting there all day without being looked at. I called earlier today while at work around 1pm to check on my car the guy informed me that it had not been looked at yet but would let me know as soon as they look at it and if they find anything. 4pm comes and i call and now the person is asking me if i have the right location due to not seeing my car/name is the system puts me on hold for about 5 mins and comes back stating that there was not a service ticket put in for my car and it had still not been looked at due to no one knew to look at it per no service ticket. The people there were apologetic but i felt it was more out of embarrassment then good customer service and i had to mention some type of compensation no one offered me anything to really rectify the situation. I was not charged the $25.00 to check my vehicle which really doesn't seem like much compensation for my time and just the sheer inconvenience and isn't it standard business practice to not charge anyway if you don't find anything wrong??? This was the first bad experience i had with this firestone but it was a major one and will be the last as i have decided to take my bushiness elsewhere. Firestone is not the most expensive auto care shop here in St. Louis but there services cost enough where you shouldn't have to go through an ordeal as i did. read more

We were 2 1/2 hours away from home and had a tire losing air fast, it was 3:30 in the afternoon. I had to stop a couple of times to add air and then found a local place that said it would be at least 30 mins maybe longer, which I understand because my dad ran a service station for years.. I then asked them the price of a new tire if it was needed (I was 99% sure it was needed). He said that he would have to get one from the warehouse. I asked him how long that would take and he said that the warehouse was done delivering for the day and then started taking phone calls ignoring me. I discovered that the was a Firestone a mile away and went there. We shot down there and they were backed up. I explained to the woman behind the counter, Missi, our dilemma. She told me she couldn't guarantee when they could get us in, and again I understood. I brought the family in to the waiting room to wait and in just a few minutes I saw our car being taken around. They pulled the tire off and brought it in and showed me the problem and it was as I thought, no good (it had been previously repaired in the bad area a couple months back). They gave me a good price on a new tire and had us on our way in just a few minutes. The service and friendliness was outstanding. If I lived close, I would not hesitate to go back for anything. read more
