Waterbury CT. location on Wolcott rd. Don't ask them to program TPMS sensors because they don't read directions. First off! I spent 3 hours in their shop just to have new sensors installed and programmed. They were training someone new who didn't follow directions correctly. They then told me my truck was all set but my aftermarket TPMS wasn't reading properly. He tried again but clearly didn't know the programming procedure while also forgetting to install an important lock feature. I told the manager I would go home, send him what he did incorrectly and could be back the next day for him to try again after he reviewed the directions he asked me to email to him. He never responded by email to tell me if he had read through the procedures or returned two messages I left with his employees. The reprogramming clearly stated to begin in a particular sequence which he clearly didn't but charged me anyway. I don't intend to remove this complaint unless they program my vehicle correctly at know charge or refund me for the procedure. read more

I needed tires and front suspension work on my car recently and they came through fast when need. Customer service was also top notch.

My experience w Firestone happened in August. i gave myself time to review because i didnt want to put out a review in anger. i have been a customer at the Wolcott St Firestone for at least 30 years. i had up until this time received great service with the one exception of every single time i had work down from a regular oil maintenace the whole dash was sll lit up w alerts, so how would i know if i really needed an engine check or my abs system needed attention. it happened so regularly that when i picked it up from an oil change i automatically asked them to reset the dash. this last time in particular involved replacing headlights. i was quoted a certain price which i calculated i could pay for between my firestone card & my bank account. and it was way beyond that when i went to pick it up. it took me 40 minutes in the firestone parking lot with my dad as a witness to get that manager in a very restrained discussion to admit that the error was his & the comm's problem was his as well. i am now the proud customer of pep boys right down the street where they are very thorough & informative. also applied for credit there. my experience with the firestone app connected to my credit card was subpar compared to all my other credit & banking apps. sorely missing a way to check your balance, due dates & balance. i always had to resort to paying by phone. whats the point of having the app? read more

Firestone offers availability. They are that friend that you text in the middle night who answers because everyone else is sleeping. Look. Firestone is not my 1st choice for any auto repair needs. Their prices are almost ALWAYS on the higher side (compared to local shops) but if you are in a pickle on a weekend and need work done, they come through in a clutch situation. Firestone has 7 days/week hours which gives them the win in availability. We had an issue with frozen brake calipers and because of this needed back rotors/pads to be replaced along with brake calipers. Brought it in end of Saturday and they had it ready to pick up first thing Sunday AM. My wife needs her car during the week and it was something that had to be fixed over the weekend and most locals shops that we get most of our work done with are closed. The staff was nice. They do try to suggest replacements of other stuff they notice as most shops do but when you say no, they will give you a sheet with suggested fixes so you can always think about it and come back later. My experiences although always more than I'd like spend, have been positive and I will continue to use them in a pinch. Quick Note: They offer warranties on most of their parts/work and I have heard (from family) they will easily honor those warranties when you bring it in. read more

Horrible serviceable!!! Tech are lazy and pure rude. I drop my car in for a flat tire repair, it took them from 8 am to 12:45 for a flat repair and they changed my tire on the passenger side as well without my permission. Bunch of scam. I did not complaint about because it's not my car it's company vehicle. Would I recommend this place to any other?? Absolutely not. Crooks!!! Do not waste your time at this place. I come here often but never have I been even 80% happy! I'm dealing with an idiot by the name Brian. He's by far a gem. I needed 2 tires he has to order them but it's like he didn't even want to. We ended up calling a different Firestone that had the tires and they told me exactly the tire weight I needed in which the Firestone that I'm sitting at has! Really??? He finally decided to put my car on their list to get done. He said it would be several hours before the new tires were put on the car. Fine, I told him I'd like a ride home he says oh we're short staffed it can't happen for an hour, bc we have to wait on another mechanic to come into work. I told him I'll go next door to lunch while I wait for the staff member to come to work. When I came back my car was on the lift half way thru getting the new tires! Wow nice way to get things done fast! Anyway They always have services that are "recommended" for your car that are extremely pricey and really I don't think in fairness it's needed immediately as they so like to put it. One time I came here and they lost my oil cap!! They would order a new one but it will take days to get it in, I can go to pep boys and get one immediately! If they lost it they should pay for it. He made me try and feel sorry telling me it's coming out of his pocket! Well I didn't feel sorry bc otherwise it would be coming out of my pocket!! Made an appointment 4 days ago to have some quick simple work done (put my summer tires on and do an alignment). It should've taken around 45 minutes to an hour at the absolute most with an inexperienced mechanic. I had an alignment done a little over a month ago after I replaced most of my front end suspension so nothing should've been seized up. I just wanted it to get done because of all the huge potholes in my area. So I make my appointment for 9am, letting them know that I would be waiting in their waiting room. When the appointment was made, they had open availability so I was able to choose whatever time I wanted. The technician told me it'd take about an hour, which was to my expectations. My car wasn't touched until 1-1/2 hours later when they moved it. Then a half hour later they finally began the work. It's now 2-1/2 hours since I first came in and my car is still on the alignment rack. Truthfully, with them knowing what they did, they should've made arrangements to make sure that I was serviced quickly. I gave them ample notice of the services I wanted done, they had my previous alignment on file, and my intentions to wait in their waiting room. To make it just a little bit worse, I'm the only customer waiting in the waiting room, the chairs are incredibly uncomfortable, they have the TV off, there's no table for me to do work on (might as well do something while I'm here), and there's no complimentary refreshments like other automotive service centers. The entire situation could be much much worse but I feel as if my business is not appreciated and I was not given the time and courtesy that I have come to expect from professional automotive service centers. I can look out their window and see 5 places that could've gotten my business. In a 10 mile radius there's probably about 20 places. I have a choice when it comes to where I take my business and I chose poorly. If I didn't have lifetime alignments with this company it'd be unlikely that I would come back. God forbid I had more serious or time consuming work done. read more

I used to be a regular customer of Firestone on Wolcott Road in Waterbury but stopped going there because I found them to be very overpriced. But I went in just recently for a oil and filter change plus an overall inspection of my car. This entire process took about two hours, The price of the oil change was competitive. They said that everything checked out on my car except that I needed rear brakes which they told me would run $445.00. I told them that their price was way too high. Well, long story short, I went to my regular repair shop and they inspected the brakes and they were almost brand new, basically no wear. So, the moral of the story is that I will never go back to Firestone again at this location because they are entirely dishonest. I went there for four new tires and alignment which I was quoted at $639. They were late with taking my vehicle in and when they finally did they came to get me to tell me I needed extra work done ASAP for another $600 or my wheel would fall off! I decided to get a second opinion since the work they claimed I needed was just done and when I told them that they stated " maybe that mechanic didn't do it right". The second opinion found that the work was unnecessary and that the only way they could of shown me how bad my wheel was to have loosened the lug nuts before coming to get me!! Totally scammers!!! Did the work (an oil change, inspection for 27 dollars) didn't do the wheel rotation because my tires were balding (news to me). They missed the screw in two of my tires but maybe that's nitpicking. Never have your vehicle serviced at this location unless you want things stolen out of your vehicle. Everyone knows to take cds and loose change out of your car anytime you have it serviced but what kind of place claims to be professional and have integrity when they uninstall and steal your subwoofer and amplifier while your vehicle is being serviced? They even stole a pack of gum, a quart of power steering fluid, and my USB cord! If I could have given this location no stars I would have. To make matters worse, management could clearly see that I was robbed but neither them nor their corporate office is willing to reimburse me or replace my stolen items. But you can bet your bottom dollar that they wanted me to pay for their terrible service. I did some asking around and come to find out, other people have been robbed at this location.
