Recently returned for a serpentine belt needing to be changed. Garage was dirty and only 1 mechanic. Mechanic said would go someplace else owner is folding the business soon. There's no warranty or anything. He suggested a new shop across the street PEH auto repair. I went these and had my belt changed in 30 minutes for 135 dollars. Place is clean with 5 mechanics. Stay away at all costs! I was told that my service on my AC was done but it might not work due to a possible bad compressor. It wasn't working after a few days so I brought it to my regular shop for another reason and told them to check it out. Surprise ! The AC was never charged so it was all bullshit, nothing was done to it, seems like they wanted the bigger job. It works great now thanks to an honest shop. read more

Had my daughter in laws Jeep Wrangler that had a nail in the rear passenger tire, first stop at Mavis up the block and was told it would be a four hour wait... left and found this Firestone store. They told me tech is finishing up with an inspection and will be right with you. I checked in on Yelp and was about to leave with such negative reviews but I was ready to argue but also didn't have another shop to get to. Tech came out took the Jeep and within 15 minutes tire was plugged and ready to go. No Bullshit or trying to sell up to a new tire, just professional and fast service since the first 2020 snowstorm was about to begin within the hour. One of the worst mechanic experiences I've ever had. Excuse after excuse. Gave me my car back and it wouldn't shift out of 2nd gear. Felt like I was being lied to constantly. Chastised me for a charge he added preemptively for scanning fee: "I'll add the OBD. scanning fee to the repair when you come back but don't come back in 6 months!!!" Who talks to a customer like that? Wouldn't accept my parts or oil for oil changes. "I don't know what's in that oil!" It was brand name sealed store bought oil. NEVER AGAIN. Horrible experience. Went for a car inspection and the lady comes back after 45 mins and tell me the inspection failed. The reason was i had jump started the car few days before and had no idea that the monitoring system only reports after about 70-100 miles driving after the battery dies. She tells me reason to run diagnostics which is 125$. She never mentioned about the battery till i said no for diagnostics. She also mention my rear back brakes are bad and need to replace which would cost 480$ although i had then replaced a year back. They are going to rip you. I came back paying 40$ just for the check. Was told I failed my inspection which was a surprise......and needed $700 worth of work including brakes and rotors on my 2018 car with less than 30k miles in order to pass. Ended up coming to over $900. I've never had an issue with my car since I had it and I now have smoke coming out of my exhaust.. which based on my research is not from the new brakes. I have a sneaking suspicion that if I were to have said no thanks and gone somewhere else none of this would have happened. This company needs a rating higher than a 5 star. The reason being especially as a woman, mechanics and that type of business sees us with a big s in the middle of our forehead. These gentleman at this location far and above exceed any expectations. They are honest and forthcoming and never see you as a dollar sign. I recommend going to them for any of your mechanical needs. My bf and I came here just to buy a used tire, the guy comes out and we tell him what type of tire we want. He gets a guy to go upstairs and look for the tire, we wait for a good 20 minutes and the original guy comes down and does nothing but look at us. He starts helping another customer out who came after us and she leaves and he's still just standing there. Initially had good service getting my Daughter's rims refinished at $300. Had to bring back for a slow leak in same tire as well as they broke her trunk release switch during last repair. Owner was very rude told me they didn't break the switch and couldn't fic it that day. When they looked at the tire, they found a nail. You would think for a return customer they would put in a plug , but no, they wanted to charge me $35. I'm done dealing with them and will take my business elsewhere. read more

BEWARE!! DISHONEST MECHANIC SHOP! Louie will try to scam you and rip you off. Came in for a tire patch and instead Louie tried to tell me the tire wasn't patchable. WRONG Louie! I had a nail less than a 1/4 inch puncture the tread portion of the tire and therefore it was absolutely patchable. Louie tried to tell me the sidewall of the tire was punctured and I needed to buy a new tire for $109 minimum to fix it (mind you I paid less that $70 for the fairly new tire than was punctured). Went to Mavis less than a mile away once I realized Louie was trying to scam me. Mavis patched and mounted my tire for $15 total. Louie is a scumbag, no good, piece of crap, DISHONEST mechanic who will try to take advantage of anyone he can. DO NOT TRUST HIM. read more

I brought my car in for state inspection since my regular mechanic was off and not only do they fail for brakes ( that ultimately did not have to be changed) but they messed up the battery which lead to alternator issues. A little coincidental that dashboard light went on 2 days and 10 miles after they did inspection???? Not sure if this was due to incompetence or purposely. When I called, she was nasty and when I told her we feel like sitting in parking lot to deter potential customers she said that is illegal and I already called the police on you. Hello- I said we felt like doing that, we didn't actually do it. Only leads me to think other people have done it before. Stupidity too. What a business. And they are State approved for inspections. I went to this Firestone for a tire that has been damaged and the manger at this location tried to scam me out of 300.00. After leave that branch I went to the location in bayshore and the manager was very professional and directed me to the lindenhurst location were I received the tire for 250.00 installed. Please stay away from sky the manger is a crook. read more

I have been going to the deer park location for oil changes and inspections for the past 3 years and they never seem to amaze me on how they want o charge you for stupid shit. $65 to put the diagnostic tool on the car to see what a code is for a check engine light. $165 to reset TPS sensor on a GMC. $2 extra for an SUV for an oil change on a Subaru Forester. They need to relax a little bit. STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AS POSSIBLE!!!!!!! Tried to give them another chance because of location and I should of never bothered. Went in for an oil change waited for 40 minutes with 3 open bays and was then told with a Tahoe I have to wait for the other lift that is currently in use and they don't know how long it will be. I asked why he would wouldn't tell me that when I arrived 40 min ago and he just looked at me dumbfounded. Waste of my time. read more

BEWARE! If i can give them a zero i really would(Check the other lowest reviews too,a lot of those).Mind you , they don't care about there customers. The workers here are very unprofessional, be aware they will you rip off and will try to take how much ever money they can from you. Crooks , removed my splash shield to change my oil and then explained to me they can't put the shield back . Becuz prior someone screwed it wrong . They placed my shield in my trunk and told me to buy a new shield and will charge to put it back on. Always try to find something to find issue with the car . All I wanted was to get my oil changed. Nothing special about the place but does the job. I wouldn't come here for major repairs, but for tires, it's fine. It's hard to screw up tires. Staff was okay. One counter person was very friendly. The other, who I think was a manager, was a little cold. Got four tires replaced. No issue. Work was done in a few hours. Price was fair. Disposed of my old tires. read more
