If was possible to give ZERO stars for the Clovis office, I would…read more I recently had the opportunity to use Old Republic Title Company's Clovis office for a purchase. If I could say it was a pleasant & professional experience, I would. My experience was far from anything related to professional. Long story short(hopefully), the seller and myself(buyer) agreed to close escrow in 15 days. Unfortunately, Old Republic Title Company's escrow officer, Lisa Hanson had other plans. Specifically, Lisa's plans included a vacation in the agreed upon 15 days to close. Without any notice, the escrow slowed to a crawl. As of the 15th day day, I still hadn't received the Settlement Statement/Wiring Instructions from Lisa. I had been asking our realtor for information on multiple occasions. Our realtor made several phone calls to Lisa, inquiring about the Settlement Statement, without a professional response. After finally getting ahold of Lisa, Lisa attempted to place the blame on the notary used by Old Republic Title for the delay. The notary was unable to send the signed documents overnight, due to the FedEx policy of no drop offs later than 4pm for overnight deliveries. With our appointment scheduled to begin at 5pm, this was an impossible task from the get go. With further inquiries by our realtor, come to find out, Lisa had failed to obtain a required document to finalize/close the escrow, whether Lisa had received the signed/notarized documents overnight. After the notarized documents were received by Old Republic Title, and with the money successfully received, Lisa finally made a call to obtain the document in limbo, all while holding up the entire closing process. Unfortunately, this is not the end to the circus of failures/delays by Lisa... After all the delays by Lisa, the seller and our broker offered to refund a portion of the purchase price. After speaking to Lisa on the phone, on a Friday, Lisa assured me a delivery would be made the following Monday with the refund check. I was very clear with the delivery address information in our phone conversation. So to say I was surprised there was no delivery the following Monday, is the truth. Lisa had evidently sent the package to the wrong address. Once again, Lisa began blaming someone else in the office for the mistake. So if you have to use the Old Republic Title Company's Clovis, CA office, to avoid the frustration and disappointment, I would seek help from anyone other than Lisa.

The first was the guarantee, upon first seeing the home, that the window coverings (wood blinds) would be repaired. The selling agent personally told us this would happen. (It didn't.) Another issue was the prompt and even unresponsive communication. We agreed upon a quick escrow since the home was unoccupied. But, at times we could wait days, and sometimes no response, to questions or forms to be completed. The agreed upon terms weren't all met and my (buyers) agent had to do the termite work the Sunday before closing (Tuesday) in order for us to close. After closing we came in to an extremely dirty home. It took over 11 hours for my wife and I to clean every surface. When I told a few friends what we did, as home owners, they were shocked and all indicated they would expect the home to be clean, or at least not that dirty. (From a glance things were vacuumed, and generally looked good. But seemingly every surface and area needed to be cleaned.) The kicker, the last straw, was the last day of escrow when the sellers wanted one extra day. In most cases that would have been fine but in this case we needed to get in the house asap. (My bust season started less than a week later so we needed to be settled before.) The oemers had all of escrow to be there but they choose the last day to reminisce. This almost devastated my wife, having her expectations dashed. The Blain team may be the most prolific real estate team in California but that certainly doesn't qualify them as the best.

This was the worst experience we have ever had selling a home. No communication everything that need to get done the home inspection, appraisal, repairs, paying for the repairs was done last minute. The SI statement was requested 1 week prior to the close of escrow. Some of the invoices that needed to be paid in escrow did not get paid prior to the close of escrow. It took 7 weeks to close escrow. Then I needed to ask about when we would receive the funds from the sale. I would not recommend this company.

They were supposed to disclose this practice called "dual agency". I have followed up with them since I sold my house through them last year. I only found out that this office was handling both the buyer and seller. It is legal, but it needs to be disclosed upfront. I used someone named Veronica and she did not really have experience as I noticed I had to push her to do the work and although she was patient, she did very little work on getting me a good price. She was just in it for the quick sale. They are not professional and even though I found out they were representing both buyer and seller, I only found out after I asked her. They should have disclosed it by law!!! They are shady and I would go maybe to Guarantee because Century 21 is another awful broker in Sanger.
