I had to take my mom here because when we went to another well known laboratory to have her tests done from a written script from the doctor, the lab didn't complete / do all of the tests requested. That was not good as it's already like fighting a hungry bear to get my mom to go get anything medical done, so when I was told this Quest Diagnostics lab location was in the same building as the doctor's office, it was a god send because I could kill two birds w/ one stone while visiting the doctor. This way, my mom wouldn't be as upset about having to go to two locations, again. In addition, the lab technician @ this Quest Diagnostics location was super nice and patient with my mom (who at this point was especially cantankerous because she had been fasting in order to do her labs). Unlike the other lab who didn't do the tests as requested, Chanel (I believe that was her name) from Quest Diagnostics at this location was really nice and ensured she had all of the vials verified for submission and everything was completed. At this time, Chanel was taking walk-ins. I don't know if that was because we came from an office in the same medical building and can't say if this will be ongoing as the location gets more established, but it was very helpful.

They take walk ins but I highly recommend making an appointment so you won't have to wait. I have an online account so made my appointment there. The check in process is done on a tablet right by the front counter. All you have to do is put your phone number in then scan your drivers license and insurance card. After checking in I only had to wait two minutes then I was taken into the back to have my blood drawn, the phlebotomist was professional and friendly. She completed the process painlessly. The whole time I spent in the office was less than 10 minutes. Great experience that's why I will continue to come back.

The phlebotomist, however; was a gem! She poked me once and I didn't even feel the pain I typically feel when giving blood! I have visited this lab three times. The first two experiences were disappointing, but I decided to give it one more chance. Unfortunately, the third visit confirmed that I will not be returning. I arrived before the lab opened and was behind eight or nine people already waiting in line. When the doors opened, a staff member collected everyone's driver's licenses, and we were instructed to take a seat. Shortly afterward, additional patients arrived and checked in using the self-service kiosk. I waited 50 minutes while watching four patients who arrived after me--and checked in at the kiosk--get called before I was. When I could no longer wait, I went to the front desk to retrieve my driver's license and asked how patients were prioritized. I was told that patients are seen based on the time they check in. Apparently, those of us who handed our licenses to the staff member at the door were not actually checked in at that time, placing us at a disadvantage compared with patients who arrived later and used the kiosk themselves. The check-in process is confusing and unfair, the waiting room is small and overcrowded, and the order in which patients are seen appears inequitable. In addition, one of the phlebotomists has been consistently so unpleasant that I find myself hoping I won't be assigned to her. After more than 30 years as a Johns Hopkins patient, I expected a much better experience. Fortunately, I have other options for laboratory services, and I will be using them in the future.

First of all in the state of Maryland you're allowed to choose your own doctor with a Workmen's Comp case and make your own appointments . It's Maryland law !!! you're not required to let the doctor do them things it is your civil right in the state of Maryland if you have a referral you can call that doctor and set up your own appointment. You do not have to be at the mercy of your previous doctor to send referrals and approvals to a doctor. But this is how this doctor operates violating your civil rights bye only excepting referrals from doctors offices and not individuals. It's a form of discrimination!!! Not only that it violates your civil rights!!!! Why in the world would you want to use a Doctor Who so arrogant that he won't even return patient's phone calls and has an answering service taking all these phone calls so they can screen their calls. I saw Dr. Dreese here for a recent shoulder injury and was pretty happy with the whole experience…read more When I called after my primary care doctor referred me their administrative staff was quick and efficient and got me an appointment within a couple of days. Wait times were always reasonable and I never had problems with billing or any other hassles like that. Dr. Dreese himself seemed like a nice guy. He took the time to explain my injury to me and was happy to answer any questions that I had. The support staff (x-ray techs, nurses, etc) were all very courteous and professional. Thankfully I didn't need surgery so I didn't get the "full experience" so to speak.
