Left a more detailed review on Google to which they decided to take it upon themselves to respond with false information plus breaking HIPAA policy. I did deleate that review after they defamed me and broke HIPPA privacy (took screen shot as proof and documentation). In the end my diagnosis after being properly evaluated by local providers and Advent hospital. I had a major bladder infection, Group A Strep infection, that caused nerve toxcity, Hypoxia, Acute Respitory Failure plus injuries, head trauma that came with MULTIPLE surgeries the next year. My initial appointment with them , I explained in detail what I knew sounded like a "crazy" story but sometimes things can happen to people, and they should be taken very seriously it almost cost me my life. Plus with all the above I was struggling with my cognition and ability to walk and communicate effectively. Instead of being concerned or care for my well being they choose to humiliate me verses taking the opportunity to learn from their grave mistake. They sent me to the private Oviedo ER where the lead doctor of urgent care also worked at as an ER doctor, without updating my proper meds and that very same ER forced meds I had informed them I was allergic to MULTIPLE times along with my adult daughter and did not run the test or imaging I had requested. Instead they forced more meds that I was allergic to causing silent seizures on top of more injuries while in their care. Needless to say, it all was a VERY traumatic experience. read more

We have been to First Choice countless times over the years. It's our go to when someone gets the annual respiratory crud and can't be seen by our PCP. Sometimes there is a wait, as with most urgent care centers, we usually ask to wait in the car if that's the case since their waiting room is small and have never been given grief about it. The care is always thorough but efficient once in a room. As I nurse I usually come in with a request, knowing what I'm looking for and they are always very accommodating and respectful. My husband was just there yesterday and my son is headed there this morning since the flu is tearing through my house. The office staff (front or clinical) has never been rude to any of us and we've never encountered any billing issues. read more

I had a terrible sore throat come on Friday in the middle of the night. By Sunday afternoon, it was even worse. Dreading the week to come, I needed care BEFORE Monday. I went here on the recommendation of my mother who lives near by. I'm happy that I did! Walked right in. The front desk staff was friendly and efficient. The nurse was relatable and kind. And the doctor was very helpful and answered all my questions. They took my United Healthcare insurance and had me on my way to the pharmacy in under an hour. They have two locations as well. East Oviedo, in the Sterling Creek Publix center and near UCF in the Palm Valley Publix center. read more

I read the bad reviews, but was desperate, so I went anyway. Was the 12th patient in line and waited for 4 hours to be seen. The waiting room chairs were super close together with a bunch of people hacking. When I finally saw the doctor, he was in there for about 5 minutes and bragged about how Covid was paying his mortgage. Got diagnosed with a sinus infection, no meds were prescribed. After a week, I was not any better, and I called to see if I could get some meds. The woman who answered was cold and rude off of the bat. I politely described my need and asked to speak to a nurse. She replied that they weren't open -- maybe don't answer the phone if you're not open. I asked if I could call in later and speak to a nurse. She replied that they weren't open right now (?). She said I needed to come in again and be seen. I politely told her it was not a new issue -- I just needed to speak to a nurse about meds to help me and that I was too sick to get myself there. She said no and that they were closed again. She hung up on me. I never raised my voice like she did. The nurses there were very kind, and I felt bad for them. The reviews saying that this place is just about taking your money are probably not wrong. read more

Would give it a zero. The new location is horrible. You bake in the sun in a small waiting room. You are jammed in like sardines. No social distancing. The Dr or whomever he is looks like he rolled out of bed and couldn't be bothered to wash or brush his hair and beard. Gross Nothing is wiped down. read more

The business model here is this: 1. Collect money from people as they come in. 2. Bill the insurance company for the same amount (or more). 3. Sit on the customer's money for *three months or more* (their words to me) before refunding it. Went to First Choice for a Covid-19 test in mid November. Paid the clinic the $120 they required. Two weeks later, my insurance company had paid in full the lab to which they sent the test . The insurance company also paid First Choice in full for $120 fee I paid. According to the insurance company, patient responsibility is now $0 for this visit. First Choice tells me it will be **at least** three months before they refund my $120. They would not give me a phone number for their billing department. They only forwarded me to a voice mailbox so that I could request more information. I am still waiting for a response. read more

Horrible experience. Waited three and a half hours and office visit was $178.00 with insurance. Had allergic reaction to the antibiotic and they refused to call in a new prescription even though they have my record. I have used their services many times, as we tend to get sick on the weekends. They are always professional. They helped me when I caught a horrible case of pneumonia last year and treated me 3 days in a row with breathing treatments (it was Memorial Day weekend and my doctor was closed). My favorite is Kathy the Nurse Practitioner; she is very courteous and empathetic. We live in Oviedo, about 2 miles from 419 (Chuluota) and there's no emergency room within 40 minutes. This place has been a God-send to this area. I've used the Florida Hospital Urgent Care near Oviedo Mall and will NEVER go back there (they treat you like a number, they make you use a computer to register yourself, they misdiagnosed me when I had the above-mentioned pneumonia....I can go on and on). I had an issue where my ear got clogged up, and couldn't hear out of it. This urgent care is a bit further from my house than a number of other locations, but the reviews for other places were not so good, so I came here instead. They accept my employer's insurance (a Blue Cross/Blue Shield plan) and seem to accept most major insurance, which is always a plus. As a result, I had a relatively low copay. Didn't wait too long before being seen. Eventually I had my ears flushed out to fix the problem and was visited by their nurse practitioner. They have a number of students working here so they can learn on the job, and I think that's a good idea for this location. They ended up prescribing me some medication since I had an infection in both ears leading to ear canal inflammation. Overall, liked the service I received. It's nice to see a locally managed and run place compared to all the chain facilities. Would come again if I ever need any other help. read more

This used to be great urgent care. It seems they are overwhelmed with Covid testing at this time. I was prescribed 2 different antibiotics, but they forgot to sign the one electronically, so I'm unable to receive the treatment. When calling the office you can't get through to the front desk. Now I have to wait for them to resend to the pharmacy. I will not return there until Covid is under control and not sure even then I will return. Very disappointed. read more

I've been here a few times for urgent care visits for myself, my husband, and my kids, and sports physicals. I've never had a long wait. Ever. The shads is always very helpful. The providers are always prompt and knowledgeable. I usually do to Night Lite Pediatrics for my kids, but I've been here several times for them as well, and it's always been pleasant here, too. I hurt my back out of nowhere yesterday afternoon...couldn't sit, stand, lie down...agony. Went to First Choice first thing this morning as it is very close to my house and about as far as I could make a drive (and I have 3 flights totaling over 9 hours travel time to make for work on Sunday!). Skeptical on check in as the receptionist wasn't confident they would be able to help me although they did take my insurance, but after a short wait, very sympathetic consultation and examination with Catherine and 2 shots later...my back is much better, I can semi function again and am hopeful I can make my work trip at the weekend now. read more

Scheduled an appointment for my wife and self to be seen at 5pm on 12/31. Was called by clinic on day of appointment to tell me they wouldn't be open at 5 pm and could I make it in at 1pm. We both left work early and arrived at 12:55p and got checked in. We were told we would be next and after waiting an hour went to inquire and told the receptionist was wrong that we had many walk ins ahead of us. We challenged that walk ins should not be ahead of an appointment and we're told they are. We challenged why we're we called to come in earlier at 1pm and leave work early if we were going to have to wait hours even though we protectively planned. The Practice manager was arguing back with us that she did us a favor by calling us and would just cancel since she didn't want to deal with our challenges and even said she would call the cops if we don't leave. We never cursed and spoke as loud as she did. Honestly wasn't very loud she just didn't like that we wouldn't stop challenging. read more

Zero stars! Contacted facility to verify they would be able to do immunization records- was told yes, for a $25.00 fee, which is reasonable. Paid the fee, dropped off the forms and had to follow up the next day, after being told they would be ready by the end of the drop-off day. Upon contact, I was told the previous day receptionist "didn't know what she was doing" and I needed to complete additional paperwork but the forms would be ready at noon. I went at the requested time and was told to "have a seat as I'm backed up", per receptionist. After 15 minutes I received my form but it incomplete! Was told, incorrectly, that a specific vaccine was required "as of 2 years ago". The vaccine wasn't even on the form! I tried to explain to the clinician that it was not a requirement and wasn't on form- to no avail. I followed up with documentation in an email but received no response, after specifically requesting a response. Out the money- and didn't receive the correct paperwork or a valid response. Would not go back. Poor communication, rude staff, unable to complete agreed upon task. read more

Rude unprofessional staff. I would not recommend going here for care. We brought our daughter in because she was not feeling well back in August. They said they took our insurance, UHC, but billed us the full amount before we left the office that day. Then they submitted a claim to our insurance and received payment so they were double paid. I waited a while to see if they would reimburse us but they didn't so in early December I went into the office and spoke to a gentleman who confirmed the double payment and told me they would reimburse me in 7 to 10 days by check in the mail. I waited 3 weeks but the check never came. I went into the office again mid-day to see if I could talk to someone in billing. The young woman behind the desk said there was no one I could talk to but she could send a message. However, she couldn't tell me when someone would get back to me. I then ask to speak to the office manager. The office manager (short blond hair) came out and she said she saw my previous request when I came in 3 weeks earlier but told me it could take up to a year for them to reimburse me because they are so busy. Then she told me to leave the office. When I questioned her about it taking a year to get reimbursed didn't sound right, she said leave or I'll call the police so I left. I called back to get her name, but when I asked the woman on the phone hung up on me. read more

There was only myself and two other women who walked through the doors. Then, once I was in the room, an hour and half went by and was seen by two people (well, only 1 because I walked out). I was going to explain my symptoms 3 times; to the nurse, doctor and was going to see some other guy, but ran out of time. These people are crooks. They made us believe that it was SO urgent for my 8 year old brother to stay there at their care center rather than go pay 1/3 of the price at our pediatrician. After being told that they'd lower the price by 50% and see us right away, we waited an HOUR longer, and they did NOT lower the price. When they finally saw him, they didn't even touch him. They told us to put Neosporin on his cut and sent us home. For $160. They're dishonest and manipulative- don't go to them. read more

Wish there was a "0" star option. Came in to an empty waiting room and thought great I'll get in and out. I was wrong. They didn't ask why I was there and I ended up waiting well over 2 hours to be seen. Again sitting in the empty waiting room, in pain. Would never go back there again. On top of that, my insurance company was closed that day so i was informed I'd be billed which is fine because typically my copay is never more than $50. However, when I received the bill I was charged $250.. after reaching out to first choice billing they said there was a note in the file saying I verbally understood that billing. However, no one informed me that it would be $250. Terrible experience. Waste of time, money, and all of the above. That's 2 hours and $250 I'll never get back. Great experience. They where very busy this morning as it is Flu season. The staff was very friendly. I saw Robert Buckley the PA. He was amazing. Very professional answered all of my questions and explained my treatment plan in a way I can understand. We had the best experience here - my partner walked in with 2nd degree burns on her hand and was seen in less than 10 minutes. About a half an hour later we were out of there. We have spent over an hour waiting at Centra Care and much longer in the ER for her dislocated shoulder (she is Calamity Jane) and this was the best experience we have had with urgent care by far. They say they're open till 5pm on Sundays, arrived at 4:30pm, they told my wife and I , along with our 3 year old son (ankle injury) that they just finished treating their last patient of the day. They turned us away 30 minutes before they closed. That's a problem. read more

I took my son to this particular walk-in clinic after his 24-hr battle with what appeared to have been a Stomach Flu or Food poisoning ONLY to have him checked out to get a Dr. slip for being out sick so he can rerurn to work. But before going, I personally called to see what the cost would be for an uninsured person to obtain that Dr. slip and was then informed that they would be a COMPLETE evaluation for $129. So I thought, OK. I would like peace of mind knowing that his 24-hr bug was gone. We arrived, filled out paperwork, paid, waited. Finally he got called in the back and they did their usual series of questions based on the paperwork. The ONLY test they did was a urine test and prescribed him a medication to minimize his nausea; charged $20 for that too! Before departing, I sat there to review the written diagnosis and had my son to ask them "would the requested follow-up visit be FREE when we return 3 days later" and the answer was yes. The very next day, my son 24-hr bug re-appeared and I called to inquire with the attending PA or assistants about his symptoms and to see if we can come back sooner than Thursday, only to be told "we do not have any PAs here and will be closing for the day. You can take him to the emergency room if you think it is an emergency." So I did just that ---- I took my UNINSURED son to the Winter Park ER where we received PERFECT service from start to finish!! They checked him out thouroughly!!! Now, it's Thursday and I wanted to keep my follow-up return back to the clinic for my son. We arrived at the Urgent Care clinic 8:45, sat in the car waiting for them to open at 0900. Then I started to notice that there was NO OTHER CARS (not even the employees) in the lot for this place to be open at 0900. Sure enough, they did NOT open at 0900, 910, and so on, so I drove him back to Winter Park ER to have his matters re-addressed. While sitting at Winter Park ER waiting area, I decided to call the walk-in clinic to see if they ever opened up for the day --- only to be told this time "their Dr. had a family emergency and they will not be open." THe moral of my complaint here is that I feel that I got CHEATED OUT OF MY HARD EARNED $129; the service that they claim to have provided him wasn't provided; and certainly the follow-up visit was NOT done because they are NOT a business that values other peoples time to be courteous enough to either post a notification on the door of there is a problem or change their voice message to address all follow-up patience. If you are sick, do NOT think twice about going to this particular walk-in clinic because you will be wasting your time and money. You might as well go elsewhere or to an ER!! Now I am going to fight to get my credit card disputed about this crappy service we received. read more
