I had earlier spoke to someone who was not helpful but when I called back I got an employee made sure I was able to do this. I did this twice and it worked well all because someone was willing to take time to walk me thru it. I was paying off a loan early. It took over an hour to find out what the payoff would be. I wrote a…read morecheck and was told they were putting a hold on it for 10 days during which time I would continue to accrue interest so would still owe on the loan. I was then told I could get a cashiers check instead. I drove to the other bank to get a cashiers check. When I came back with the cashiers check they had to call the bank to ensure it was good. I guess they thought I had gone home to my check forging machine in my garage and cranked out a bogus check.

It's only been 3 months I've had to make a few phone calls anytime during the week any day of the week minimum hold time is 45 minutes. The worst customer service I have ever experienced. I don't know if this Credit Union is too big for its britches but they need to get more help. No one should have to hold that long to ask a question about their loan or anything else for that matter . Refinancing my loan with my credit union which is what I should have done in the first place so very sad!

Customer service hasn't helped either. The chat agents seem to be handling too many conversations at once -- responses take 5-7 minutes and usually end up being generic messages like, "We're looking into your history," without actually resolving anything. With how expensive gas, groceries, and everyday cost of living have become, I think people should seriously consider who they trust with their money. For some families, even $125 can make a real difference in paying bills, buying groceries, or getting through the week. In my experience, the way this situation was handled felt disconnected from the financial pressure people are already under. Overall, this has been by far the worst credit union I've used. Good communication shouldn't only happen when money is leaving your account -- it should also happen when there's a problem. Based on my experience, I wouldn't recommend banking here.

However, getting money back after my mom not paying for 5 years made trip worth the inconvenience. Getting calls from "fraud protection" when I was on vacation or when weird "over the internet" purchases are made is inconvenient, but by checking account and credit card are safe. Everyone is so kind, patient and makes sure I am not needing help with any other transactions before I leave. It typically takes them longer for my deposits because it's not my bank. They still are patient! They also do events and they are loads of fun. The last one I attended had bounce houses, face painting and a balloon artist! If you're not banking with them, their service alone is phenomenal I can't imagine how much nicer you'd be treated actually banking with them!
