My sister and I went to the First Friday Art Walk a few days ago and stopped in since it was one of the major stops on the Walk. They have a wide range of art styles represented here; we saw painting, photography, jewelry, fiber arts, and more. The gallery extends invitations artists to be members of the gallery based upon their non-juried art exhibitions that happen twice per year. Whilst the First Friday Art Walk is one way they regularly welcome in the community, they also host a bunch of workshops. I was surprised to see how full their schedule is, and the cost of the workshops are incredibly reasonable--I think I even saw on that accepted donations on a sliding scale. Given its location downtown, it's very easy to visit via LTD or of course by car. There isn't dedicated parking but there's a city lot on the next block, as well as street parking.

Our tour started with a sampling of local beers, an introduction into the afternoon's activities and some time to get to know the 2 other couples who also did the Eugene Eats Food tour. We enjoyed a 2-10 minute walk between each venue during which our guide and business owner Siera provided information about the area and of our next stop. Food choices are varied and excellent. Our final food stop was at an incredible local bakery for a bit of sweet tooth satisfaction. The tour ended with a stop at a local distillery for a small sampling of infused gin, vodka, and rum. Siera did a great job facilitating the tour and included some local history. She kept the tour light and fun. I highly recommend this food tour. It includes some well selected beverages and showcases multiple local eateries.

We were so pleased to find Eugene Eats Food Tours! Sierra was a wonderful tour guide and she showed us a neighborhood that I had never seen before. She took us to a brewery, sushi, food truck, bakery and a distillery. All the food was delicious and the drinks were wonderful. She was very knowledgeable of the area and the history of the neighborhood. If you have a couple of hours in Eugene - give Eugene Eats Food Tour a call!

I stumbled upon the lights tour and talked to someone who was very helpful with information, costs, and options. Communication with the company was great from the time I made the reservation until we were picked up. Ian was our fantastic driver who picked us up on time and with chocolates . We started on the west side of Eugene in the hills, to the east, and then dropped off at the restaurant where we had dinner reservations. Ian made several stops to take pics of us and drove thru many neighborhoods with beautiful displays. We loved talking to him and hope he enjoys his upcoming Wyoming trip! The limo was clean, stocked with water, drink, and decorated with Christmas garland. We were able to play our own music (sorry about the Richard Cheese songs!)

I've used My Party Bus for local events, birthdays, wine tastings, and networking events. Sean, the owner, is a stand up guy and always goes above and beyond to ensure everyone is taken care of. Also, good communication is often times something we take for granted, and they always have been great in this regard. And then I found some and sent them to her "for future reference". She didn't give us any travel advice even though she had been to the region. Didn't recommend any hotels, and we ended up with a hotel that didn't have any food service ----even though it there was no food within walking distance. She could not book us train travel ("just do it yourself and I'll add it to the insurance") and then it was never added. Second hotel had no shuttle from the train station and we ended up at 9:00 at night trying to call an Uber. When I asked for information on tours I found and asked her to book, she said "It's all online. I'll send you the link." Every time I called or emailed the agent, the message was "I'm either on the phone or out of the office" and then we'd get a vague reply a couple of days later. I came very close to cancelling this trip, and then changed some things, printed up our itinerary, and asked some helpful folks at the airport to help us get our tickets. We had a wonderful vacation-----in spite of these folks. My advice to anyone thinking of "travel perks"----DIY---it's less stress!
