While the facilities were admittedly dated, the beautifully maintained grounds and charming atmosphere made it worthwhile. Unfortunately, last night's visit completely destroyed those positive recollections. We checked in around 11 PM and were sent to our assigned room -- a tiny, isolated space in the attic. It was unbearably hot and steamy, with no air conditioning or adequate ventilation, despite the rest of the building being cooled. The conditions were so shocking and unsafe that we turned around immediately, left without staying, and went to find another hotel. When we raised the issue, staff simply suggested using a fan. The only way to have endured the night would have been to sleep with the door wide open to the hallway, which was obviously not a safe or reasonable option. I will never return to this hotel and cannot recommend it to anyone. The lack of basic comfort and guest care is unacceptable.

It was a bit dark but we could definitely tell how cute and adorable this place was from the outside! The Victorian style architecture, the details, and the decorations around the house were phenomenal! The dining room, living room and even the restrooms were all filled with an antique feel furniture, books, etc. I loved the details on the door hands to the door hinges. My boyfriend was in awe of all the working sliding door hinges as they were older style - but definitely new. The breakfast was amazing - as I believe Josh cooked for us. I was stuffed! Even the breakfast service was delicious as Josh and Miriam joined us for a morning conversation as well~ The next morning, we went around the house to have a better look and you can definitely tell they put in a lot of work! Inside the living room is an old photo of how the house looked. And if you see it now - it looks exactly the same! Their yard looks amazing to have a cup of coffee/tea in and even have a little train area in the back! They also have a cat who is very friendly. (The cat is not allowed indoors FYI.) Overall, we LOVED this place and is definitely a place to stay at! This has so far been the BEST bread & breakfast place I have ever stayed at. It's hard to choose with which part of our stay was highest on the list of "impressed". Everything…read morewas outstanding and memorable. I guess, have to start with our host Tom. He communicated directly via text and email before we even arrived and provided a lot of valuable advice and suggestions to plan our trip to Eugene and the surrounding area. When we arrived to the B&B it was like coming to a second home with a welcoming relative. Every detail and comfort was considered and present in advance. The estate is massive and yet homey simultaneously. Tom was a tremendous host throughtout our 3 day stay and cooked and served a delicious and fresh breakfast daily. Also charged our Tesla at no cost, told interesting stories about his home and the region, and recommended places to visit. He truly went above and beyond to make our stay a 5-star+++ experience. If all that was not enough, Tom picked berries with our 5-year old in his orchard, gave her cooking lessons, and kept her entertained while we rested. Can't recommend McKenzie Orchard Inn enough and can't thank Tom enough for his warmth and hospitality.

WTF? Furthermore, when we asked for our keys back at checkout so we could fetch our car, that valet: 1) Didn't believe us, and 2) claimed there is no self-park option. Everyone needs to get the story straight to avoid misleading customers. The previous evening valet was very kind; the morning valet was a jerk.

She made us feel like we were home. The atmosphere of the Catbird Seat B&B was everything we needed that weekend. The decor looked like it was out of a magazine....stunning! Elizabeth prepared a delicious country breakfast that made me want more. She treated us every afternoon with a refreshing pitcher of ice tea that I could not get enough of. I will stay at the Catbird Seat every time we are in the area. There is no other place this remarkable and memorable to stay.

Orange juice and coffee are standard and they have a breakfast kombucha if you want something a little healthier and probiotic. They also have a happy hour with regional wine, bubbles, and local beer for really reasonable prices if you just need a refresher after getting back to the hotel. The location is unbeatable with just a couple of blocks to excellent places to eat downtown like The Davis, and the Eugene Public Library nearby.

Check-in was smooth, and the staff member who greeted us was genuinely pleasant and cool, giving us some extra water and few green bags of goodies (returned the next day), promising to wave the parking fee. That's where the positives ended. After a long drive, we dropped our bags in da rooms and went out for a dinner without inspecting our rooms a bit closely. When we returned later that night and checked the beds with a UV light, we were shocked to find stains on both beds. It was darn disturbing (photos attached)! We went down to the front desk to report it. The night staff told us there was no one available to change the linens and no other rooms available to change at full occupancy. Instead, we were handed a set of sheets and sent back to deal with it ourselves. After 10 PM, exhausted, we had no real choice but to accept it. In the morning, we raised the issue again with the new front desk rep. The replacement sheets were not much better, and despite our complaint, the response was limited to verbal apologies only. We were still charged full price for the night, plus a $20 parking fee for overfilled parking lot that's essentially had open access from the street. This is not the level of cleanliness or service expected from a Hyatt. Do your due diligence and do not assume standards are being met. Check your room carefully before settling in. Breakfast on the other hand was great! Variety of eggs, milks and healthy choices beat other Hyatt locations we stated at the next day in Portland. Loved it, and that what basically got the stars.
