Love the modern decor it does give a nice and clean vibe though the minimalist was interesting with just two lines going for regular and business I can understand it's not town location though it's not exactly a practical location I'd like to do business with as the wait was a bit much for me and ended up leaving. Located in Ewa in a small shopping center with Foodland, Longs and Aloha Gas there's lots of free parking but I don't think this would be the choice spot for me personally but lovely place. This has to be the worst bank on the island. There is TWO tellers and they are terrible with customer service. If you don't have a cash transaction the tellers on the side can help you. I sat with someone in their loan department about a HELOC. She said she was the best person to assist me but please tell me why we spent the whole 45 minutes on the phone with the loan department her asking how she needs to handle my transactions. I'm told the other Ewa Beach location on Fort Weaver Road (by Mcddonalds) will be closing and this will be the primary location for Ewa Beach. Located right beside Subway, Gengki Sushi and same shopping center as Foodland. Designated parking area for bank. Location gets very busy and congested during peak business hours. read more

Service extremely slow, there is no line or accommodation for business and quite frustrating to be honest. When inquiring about the long waits, excuses of running short staff, which doesn't help the consumer standing in line. An hour run to the bank for deposits is wasted time. I came here because I hurt my leg and walk really slow. I saw that it was close to parking and thought perfect I won't have to walk far and standing in line for 10 to 15 minutes is doable. I ended up waiting longer than if I had walked to the bank with the furthest parking lot layout. It was 35 minutes for only 4 people. When it was my turn, the teller messed up on a normally simple deposit so I had to wait longer. My leg was hurting lol and I was regretting not going to the Pearl city branch. The tellers were nice and the bank was very bright and clean. But if you are looking to get in and out, look elsewhere. read more

It is shocking to see the number of poor reviews of First Hawaiian Bank. Sadly, it seems to have no impact on their customer service. I will add my complaint. FHB refused to open a CD account for me with funds that have been with them in a checking account for 10 years. When I called them to ask why, they weren't able to tell me. When I asked to speak with a supervisor, the representatives became completely befuddled, and would not connect me to any decision maker who could resolve the problem. First Hawaiian richly deserves its poor ratings on Yelp. I encourage any new depositors to use any of the alternatives on Oahu. read more

Overall 1-1/2 stars, for good reasons. Bad customer service from the tellers, 75% of them are just rude. Calling wait time is always 30 minutes plus. No 24 hours customer service. On the weekends, contacting customer service is closed. Their website and mobile app is lackluster. They don't value that you bank with them. When late on payments, they hound you and they are very unprofessional. First Hawaiian Bank needs give new and improved form, structure, focusing more on better customer service. Very convenient to my location nearby from home just a walking distance ... parking is great a lot of it, if there's a line inside or outside it means they're not busy its the clerks are slow. I don't know if the clerk's wanna show the customers that they're high-class Filipinos but they have a 2 clerk window so they have to pick it up customers has other places and errands to go on their day off or maybe on lunch break to come to the bank... if you see a line clerks are slow!!! read more

Terrible bank. Tried opening a business account was told I need to make an appointment. Ok that's fine but you only book till 3pm? Who the hell has a full time job and can get to a bank by 3pm? Asked if I could come at 3:30pm. She asked her manager. Nope!!! No consideration, no bending, nothing. I was like ok I guess I need to go to another bank then. The girl was like "yah I think so". Wow!!! That's crazy to me. You're not a bank for the local people. Cause most local people I know don't get home till after 4pm which is your business hours. New upgraded "core" banking system that now insists that customers present an ID to make a CASH deposit and that's a deposit of a mere $1500. This is the most absurd banking requirement yet. This bank never ceases to amaze me, yet they still do NOT provide customers with real-time transaction monitoring. EPIC FAIL. read more

Be prepared for long lines. Newly renovated with just 2 tellers. The problem is that Ewa Beach has a lot of old school and elderly customers who don't want to use the automated system. They may either want the personal contact or they may not trust or understand computers. It's not uncommon for the line to go out the door 10 deep... don't forget to include bankers hours. I'm not sure which branch as it was a long while ago... I went in to cash a large amount of US savings bonds. In Chicago it was as good if not better than cash for me. The teller went to get a supervisor. The supervisor told me she was going to hold my pants for six months. I replied, give them back to me to think of the road. I know we'll catch them. She asked me to wait. She comes back about a half hour later telling me that she calls me because she thought they were Counterfeit. read more

It's very disappointing when you need to speak to someone on the phone and the wait time is always 50+ minutes and you don't have the option of chat or call back. If I could get the information from my online account I would not wait on the phone. I'm not loving Ewa Beach's new First Hawaiian Bank branch. Although it is new - new smell, carpet, furniture it is not inclusive in its accessibility. In becoming more streamlined, you have sacrificed accessibility for our Kupuna and disabled community. It's a long line for standing with one space for seating at the entrance. I asked Mele, one of the tellers, what their thinking was behind this form of banking. She said they are wanting customers to shift to more online banking. Again, that's an assumption of accessibility of wifi, devices and use of each. Additionally, the ATM is located inside the building. I think, would like, it located outside so it can be accessed during non-banking hours. Lastly, although items are new, I worry for the ergonomic safety and comfort of the bankers and customers in the attempt to streamline everything. The personal banking tables are crowded, being close to one another and absent of anything remotely personal when it comes to personal banking. Their hours are terrible. 4 pm is so early for a bank to close and it offers no availability for working individuals. This is their brand new location and they only have 2 tellers to assist everyone standing in line and there is ALWAYS a line. Who makes a bank with only 2 tellers? Such a waste! By the time I get to the front, I'm grouchy because of the wait and it really wasn't a realistic thing for a bank to do. ALSO, there's no privacy because of how the line is set up. My other half came in nicely to ask if he could cash a check even if the check is from a different bank, wasn't sure...and the teller RUDELY said "well look does it say first hawaiian" blah blah blah trying to embarrass my other half. Unfortunately, I did not get the tellers name, but I did not appreciate her attitude. It seemed that she did not want to cash my check there. All I wanted to do was cash my check and she had told me due to the pay date on the check, she will not cash the check. However, I have cashed checks there before not at this location, but the Waipahu location and they never gave me any issues. Keep in mind that I have had an account with FHB for years, and they never had any issues. I felt that she was being rude and that she was just trying to clock to close the store noticing that it was about to be 4pm. She did not give any reason to why she could not cash the check. All she left me with was, "NO, I can't do it," and when continuing to ask her why she told me the same thing. With all these bad reviews, this location should either talk to their team about the customer service, or do a sweep of new workers. IF NOT, SHOULD DEFINITELY CLOSE THIS LOCATION DOWN. After this experience, I am now CONSIDERING OF CLOSING MY ACCOUNT AND MOVE TO BANK OF HAWAII. FIX THIS NOW BEFORE ITS TOO LATE. read more

After 3 days nobody had called me, so I called them again and they were so rude and acted like how dare I bother them with my insignificant problems. Paid off my credit card in full and check later to see that the payment was not processed and I still had my complete balance + a new "finance fee" from the day I paid it off. Called the customer service line and they said the payment I made on Thursday SHOULD have been processed on Friday, so now she tells me this branch has to contact me on Monday and I'll have to probably come in my self to provide my receipt. Also the only bank I know that has a "online banking fee" $5 a month just to do your banking at your convenience on your phone. So it's either you pay things in person and they fuck it up or you pay for your credit cards online and get charged $5 a month (something that other banks do for free) for online banking. Everyone should do their banking elsewhere I think I'm just gonna fully close my credit account here even if it'll drop my credit score by a lot. Not worth all the bogus fees, the mishaps on their ends and the general inconvenience it is to have this bank. read more

This is the absolute worst bank you will ever step foot in. No one is trained properly. The line can be up to an hour wait. That's right- an hour. Two tellers max. The one nice woman is the door greeter. Stay away from the mean one in the back named Jen. She has some serious attitude and yells at customers. I came in to deposit residual checks for my children. They already have Coogans at another bank (I would NEVER open one here) and they all treat me like I'm doing something sneaky and "just checking" on my account every time I come in and deposit checks. They clearly have zero clue or idea how the film industry works or what childrens residuals are and how this works. I have to close my account in a few months because we're moving off the island. I'll update on how that went after! For now. They get one star and that's only because of the kind lady who opened the door for me and my son. read more
