The most unorganized bank iv ever been in... no signs anywhere. Everyone who walks in looks absolutely confused.. people waiting on the side for a long time & waiting to get help. March 14,2022 9am--I do not work at a bank BUT don't you think the employees here would Know-how to read the amount on a personal checks or how to read numbers ?!?! Needed to deposit xxxxxx and Jonalyn process the check xxxx less than what's written on the check and gives me a receipt with the wrong amount on it!!!!! It really worries me if she has done this before and what happens to the extra money that wasn't deposited? What would happen if I didn't catch it ? We work hard for every cent and to have this happen is bothersome. And to add insult to injury she denied it and made me feel like I AM THE INCOMPETENT ONE !! So, I told her to check again !! And SURE ENOUGH I WAS TELLING THE TRUTH !!!She screwed up on a simple transaction !! IT makes me question her ability working with $$$... it's really scary !! Drive thru ATM and Teller? Score! You know some days you just don't feel like getting out of the AC in the car or you're just pressed for time, the drive thru teller and ATM is a definite plus. Today I had to cash a check, and my son was not having it. So rather than taking him out of the car seat, the drive thru saved me a toddler meltdown. It was my first time at this bank and I'm always on the look out for extended hours since. The ASB down the block from my place just has regular bank hours. I'm so glad they're open until 3pm on the weekends and til 7pm on weekdays. I will probably do most of my banking at this location. read more

What I've always like about ASB is their no non-sense approach. I had an account with ASB growing up here in EB. I was sad when I closed upon moving to the mainland. When I came back, I went to the location there were at then but only found First Hawaiian. I needed to setup an acct quickly for online banking to take care of business. I was dishearten to see additional fees and minimums. I had payments to make and bit the bullet. Then when I had the time I found the location of ASB and immediately went there to setup my acct. I was greeted warmly. I stated what I needed to do and was setup quickly. Later that night, I got into online banking with no problems and no worries about minimums and fees. This is where i like to bank. Happy there are now some good eats in the strip mall they are in, especially Starbucks. The teller I most frequently get is Ewa. Yes, that really is her name. And, she's wonderful to work with when I have to go in to deposit cash. When can we do that over the internet? Hmmmm read more

ASB charges non customers $4.50 to withdraw money from their ATM. My bank CPB reimburse ATM fees because I have an Exceptional plan. But it only reimburses up to $4. I use ASB ATM because i don't need to step out of my car. Even though CPB is right their, trying to find parking sometimes is hectic. It was $3.50 before asb installed the new ATM, up by $1.00. By far the most expensive ATM fee out of all the banks and credit unions in Hawaii. Although I am not a customer of ASB with the increased fee being so high it would be a disadvantage to others who may consider banking with ASB. read more

7 days a week, drive through tellers, open until 7pm on weekdays is amazing. Then you add friendly staff and an attentive manager and I'm so thankful. I opted for a deluxe kalo plan and pay a monthly fee- but I get free cashier checks, safety deposit box and up to 15.00 in ATM fees paid back when I use other banks atms- I compared all banks and credit unions and no one compares. They have a feature called pay a friend, free for the merchants and free for me- it's a win all the way around. The pay a friend allows me to text or email a payment -and in seconds it's goes to into their account. I transfer money to my spouse, teen and hairstylist too. read more

Dragged myself to do some errands today. Decided to go to this bank to deposit money in my checking account. After all these times I decided to create a savings account again. Since my other account closed cause I didn't need it. I expected this place to be busy since it was Friday. However I went in and everyone was being helped and no one was in line since most of y'all know I'm impatient. I was greeted once I walked in. Waited about a minute and was promptly helped. I hate myself for not remembering the tellers name but she was awesome. Smiled so big and very humble talking to me. I totally forgot to sign in for savings account and I asked her can I create a savings account. She was ecstatic and said yes, she then guided me to a seat on the desk and I'll be helped in a few. Again with the names I forgot again who helped me set up my account. I knew what was the terms and conditions before coming in to the bank so it was fast and easy. Talked to the girl who set up my savings account and talked about personal stuff too since she knows my friends and cousin. All in all the two transactions I did took under 15 mins. Which was by far the fastest I've done. Once I left the teller and the account specialist said there byes by my first name which made it personal. There so awesome. What I've observed was the most tellers in there which made the time and line go by fast. That's how a bank should be on fridays. Some other banks only have 3 or 4 but this one had 6. Anyways thanks again American savings bank for a wonderful experience again. I'm glad I had this bank for awhile. Treat you like family. read more

The new Ewa American Savings Bank is located in the Laulani Center, right behind Starbucks. It boasts a two lane drive-thru as a convenient banking option. The inside is clean and spacious. There are two lounge chairs and a table near the entrance if you need to do any waiting. So far, the tellers I've seen, have been friendly and welcoming to their customers and more than happy to help you find the right banking options available to fit your needs. I seem to be lucky and not go when they are busy. So, it's quick to do my transaction when I decide to walk in. I like that they have a drive thru teller for people with children or anyone that is just not feeling like walking in. Still have to fill out the paperwork before heading to the teller. Just note that you can only do a single transaction in the drive thru. I tried depositing a check into my account and putting some money into my parents as we were all in the car with my infant daughter and was told that they do single transactions and I had to go inside. Understandable.. I guess I was just not aware. Now you are so don't do what I did. The teller was nice enough to just give my info and paperwork to a teller working the counter so it was a fast transaction overall. Just junk because I was excited to tell my parents about the drive thru. Lame. read more

There always seems to a lot of people coming to this location, but the fast service helps a lot! I thought I would be there for at least 30 minutes but was only there for 5! The customer service is always really friendly and positive. One of my favorite locations of this bank for sure. read more

I used to live in the mainland and got spoiled by drive through bank transactions. And so when I found out that this ASB had drive through, I was so happy! As a mom with two toddlers, there is no such thing as doing and errand "really quick". Like going to the store to pick up something or make a deposit. So this helped a lot. read more

I'd like to believe that I'm a valued guest here at American Savings Bank in Ewa Beach. I've thought about leaving several times because of issues that occurred throughout the years. It's because of Angel that we're still banking with ASB. I've never experienced or seen dedication, sincerity and passion she has for your company. I have been banking with American Savings Bank since moving to Hawaii four years ago. I have my business plus personal accounts here. I have been happy with the service at the bank, friendly service and the new location in Ewa Beach is new and nice. UP until today! THEIR FEES ARE RIDICULOUS! I was on a business trip to Canada and my travel wallet got stolen. I called to let them know, they put a hold on my account but charge $20 to replace the card... WHAT? I have banked with many banks in the USA and Canada and have never heard of this. The ATM fees are so high, they charge for EVERYTHING! I have dealt with all the charges and haven't moved to another bank but I am thinking about it after today. My loan payment is overdue and I'm not able to get to the bank during bank hours for another three weeks so I need my debit card... but I can't replace my card over the phone because I withdrew all the money in my account from the teller before I cancelled my card and now I don't have the funds in my account to order a new card. They won't replace my bank card until I can physically get into the bank... so I'm going to have a late charge and they are not willing to wave the card replacement fee due to my circumstances ... POOR business practices, and POOR customer service! VERY DISAPPOINTED! read more

Their old Ewa branch closed down and this new branch is located conveniently in the new shopping center with Petco, Starbucks, Ross, Walgreens etc. They have a drive through, which I'm not sure if it is operating yet because the branch is so new. I've always received great customer service. And even if I come at a busy time, the line still moves pretty quickly. However, this location is not preferred. The main reason being the parking. Even on a weekday before most people finish work, the entire parking lot seems to always be pretty packed. The last time I was here I parked at Walgreens. read more

Just left the Kapolei branch the service and wait time was a one star so I left and drove to the Ewa beach branch to open a new account the atmosphere is better the tellers look pleasant and willing to help. There is no sign up sheet for those opening account so you need to speak to the teller and wait but at least the teller was friendly and asked if I needed help. Employees here are a lot more pleasant, especially Eden she was a big help for me and my mom, very friendly and patient. read more

My husband and I have been banking with American Savings Bank for almost 10 years. Seems like we always missed the long lines whenever we deposit cash. But any other than the tellers there are so nice and kind. They always have the biggest smile on them even on the busy days. read more

It's 9/13/15 2:50 pm, the service and people here are so nice but I'm placing a complaint because hours are 9a-3p Saturday and Sunday's and the place is closed when all I need to do was deposit a check so I could pay for my payment plan for school that is due. The drive up is very convenient when I have my dogs in the car, I especially love Angel when she's there, she decorate and lights up the drive up window, wonderful customer service and she brings true meaning to the word ALOHA, she is Hawaii!! She is why I'm still at American Savings. read more

This really is NOT SPECIFICALLY FOR THE EWA BRANCH. Instead it is for the I guess call center I called there spoke to Amanda and asked a few questions on their new banking service. Unfortunately she did not really know the answer. Simply to how long will payment be made she says depends on the bank? Then she says if the receiving bank dies not have the service there might be a charge. Now that is not what was explained to me when I signed up. The people at the Ewa Branch are FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL! I rated 3stars due to customer service call center . Other than that I'd rated 5 starts if I got a more clear answer. read more
