Also, I like how Tony, the owner, will not just give you a haircut based on what you tell him IF he knows it is going to look bad.

Every other time it has just been okay, but last Sunday takes the cake. I had an event to go to and I had probably the worst blowout I've ever had (in general). The stylist herself was nice although a little rough with the brushes and washing. I had asked for just a basic blowout with some flips. In the salon it looked okay from the front (I wasn't shown the back). By the time I got home it was a frizzy mess, even my husband asked WTF happened. I looked in the mirror at the back and it was awful - some pieces had large curls, some were flipped, some just laid flat and there entire blowout was so frizzy. I called in a panic because my event was coming up and when I explained my situation to the (I believe) owner, she said in the most annoyed tone of voice "so you want to come back?" Um yeah? I paid ~$37 for the blowout and gave my stylist a $10 tip. She seemed so annoyed over the phone. I then realized I truly had no time to 1) drive all the way back there (kinda far from me) and find parking (difficult) 2) deal with the attitude of the manager. I then went down the block to Walgreens and bought a curling iron to try and fix it (didn't know what else to do), which was about $27. So over $60+ spent to have a bad blowout and feel rushed and stressed before my event. In this economy where people are struggling and these things are seen as a luxury, not a need, you would think management and staff would be understanding and try to be provide the best customer service and styling. I only gave it an additional star because again, my stylist was nice. I'll truly never come here again, especially with all these newer places opening up.

I am disgusted by this spa and how managers react when an esthetician hurts the client. Here is my…read morestory.. I wanted to go to a "nicer" spa for a facial on my birthday so my mother found this place with based solely on reviews. The esthetician that did my facial was Nancy who had 20+ years doing this. I like a calm, quite environment but she spoke through the entire facial which was not pleasant as this is the time to relax. Given Nancy's experience, I would hope she knew the difference between pimples and skin colored moles/bumps on the face, however.. she did not. Nancy extracted pimples along with two skin-colored moles which bled during the facial and she did not tell me. I could not tell directly after as my face looked red, but the next day as my skin calmed down, I saw the damage that was done. I immediately called the spa to let them know what happened. There are several managers at AF Bennet. The first I spoke with was Theresa, I sent her a picture since I lived in a different borough so I would have to pay a toll. Then, she said I would have to come in so she can look more closely at it as if she did not believe me. I went in on my birthday which is not something I wanted to do but I wanted her to see what Nancy had done to my face. She took pictures and told me she would send them to the other managers. Theresa made it as if it was no big deal and she scratches marks like that all the time and it will go away. I asked for the money back but instead she said "How about you come in on a day Nancy is not there?" Theresa completely ignored what I wanted and gave me some acne cream and told me to cover it as it was under my glasses. I said I should see a doctor because I was in pain, she said just put this on it with another esthetician and there was no need for a doctor's appointment. I wish I listened to my gut and went to a doctor. A month passed and it was not healing. It was red and still bleeding so I called back and spoke with Theresa again but now her attitude completely changed. She was nasty about it but I insisted I wanted my money back. She would have to get back to me. I kept calling and then got another manager Michele, who had no idea what happened even though Theresa said she would share the pictures she took of my face. Again, I was running after Michele to get a response as she was not the general manager. Tina, general manager was finally made aware of the situation when I got ahold of her. I was disgusted that Theresa never shared the pictures she took of my face with her. Theresa took pictures of my face and just kept them in her phone?? At first, Tina sounded sincere about the situation, I had to explain everything from the beginning as Theresa never told her anything. I told her I've been in pain due to the negligence of Nancy. I was refunded when I told her it was healing and that I will not come back. She said I need more details to know what is going on with your face. So, I sent her the information and she told me it must be an underlying condition. This would have eventually come out anyways. I never had a problem with this area before and I get skin checks every year yet a general manager read a summary from an MD and determined this. I am absolutely appalled by all of the people at this place. If this was their daughter, sister, etc.. I bet their reaction would be different. I am now going for a confoccal imaging procedure to make sure everything is ok and they do not want to pay for this. If I have to take further action after the procedure, I will take them to court. This place does not care about people. I would look elsewhere if you want a facial!!

Here's a spirited, whimsical take:…read more I still remember the day I stumbled upon a shimmering Groupon gem--a "Haircut and Blow-Out" waiting for me at Zöe Salon in New Dorp. With a tap, I snapped it up and found myself in the capable hands of Alyson--the moment her shears met my locks, I knew I'd discovered something magical. Ten years later, my loyalty to Alyson (and to Zöe's pristine, spa-like space) is unshakable. Every inch of this salon gleams with care: spotless stations, sterilized tools, and an atmosphere that whispers, "Your hair is in the safest of hands." Today I reunited with my beloved "hairapist," Miss Alyson, and as she coaxed each strand into place, I simultaneously unleashed a torrent of heartfelt confessions. By the time she unveiled my reflection--exactly the look I'd dreamed of--tears of relief and joy were streaming down my face. Ready for a hair revelation? - Choose Zöe Salon for a routine trim that feels like artistry. - Choose Zöe Salon when you crave a bold transformation guided by true masters. - Choose Zöe Salon to discover your forever stylist (spoiler: it will be Alyson--or her talented colleague, Claudia). - Choose Zöe Salon as an investment in yourself and a chance to connect with a caring professional. Beyond the salon chair, here's some extra inspiration: * Pre-appointment ritual: Bring a photo of your dream hairstyle plus one that's totally "you" for Alyson's creative spark. * At-home care: Ask about Zöe's favorite leave-in sprays and serums--your hair will reward you every morning. * Future fun: Keep an eye out on Zöe's socials for seasonal color inspirations--think pastel highlights in spring or rich mahogany for fall. May your next haircut feel less like a chore and more like a celebration of you. Enjoy the glow-up!
