And I got so much more space for my money than hotels offer, since there were 3 of us she gave me the conjoining room with 3 beds and she didn't charge any extra for our puppy!!!! What a win! We were pleasantly surprised how cute, clean, and comfortable the room was! The outside area is beautiful, with lots of flowers and decor. The room itself was clean and modern. We loved the rain shower head! I would definitely recommend Crest Motel and would stay there again if I were in the area.

Sterling ended up a mistake in numerous ways. Starting with the Ramada. Once a great stay, this facility is so run down, we handed the keys back and headed for Fort Morgan. Even the woman at the desk recommended we take a good look at the room before paying. Good thing. Clearly dilapidated over the years, it's clearly time to renovate or just plain knock it down. Very sad. While that second woman was polite and a godsend to us, the first clerk we dealt with was rude and abrupt. Snapping at my wife that she saw two dogs in our car and will be charging a large fee for both of them. Shame on me for not walking in and getting names. 03/24

Loved that we were able to pick or room from all the photos and choices. We called wanting to stay. The owner met us and showed us around. We enjoyed everything about Doc's. We felt at home and comforted with the personalized touch of staying there . The whole place was set up like originally back in the days . Antiques displayed but with a certain touch of perfection . The price of the room was perfect and being close to downtown it's easy to walk to a place for dinner . In all , I will definitely come back .

Ryan at the front desk was amazing and went above and beyond to ensure we checked in seamlessly. We even left the lights on in the car and he called up to let us know. As soon as you check in there is coffee, water, juice, cookies and even some doggy treats. Breakfast was great and the lady who was there was so attentive and always refilling and ensuring everything was clean. I appreciate all the staff here and 10/10 recommend.

She checked us in quickly and allowed us to use a luggage cart to bring our bags upstairs. I have ridiculously thick hair, so I asked for extra shampoo and conditioner, to which she happily accommodated. Our room was equipped with a mini fridge and a microwave, which was helpful for storing our road trip snacks and heating our dinner. The beds were super comfortable and the shower was powerful. The room seemed very clean and we slept like babies. In the morning, the hotel offered a complementary breakfast that featured a variety of foods, as well as some packaged foods, like danishes, that we were able to snag to munch on during the drive. Our boys got to experience what it's like out in the countryside of this part of Nebraska. They fed llama's, swung in a big old tree swing, tossed some horseshoes and slept comfortably under the sound of a rainstorm on the roof. Everything is lush and green. Our hosts are very good people to know. We ate dinner at an old café down the road and enjoyed the burgers and chicken strips for the kids. The locals here treated us very nice. I found this little town remarkable and so rich in history that it overwhelmed my senses in a wonderful way. The sky at dusk and early morning are spectacular.

There's a lovely patio area, and a beautiful living and dining area inside. The lawn comes complete with lawn games and an old-fashioned tree swing. Dave will cook up fantastic meals to order and take care of your every need. Additionally, the small (nay, tiny) town is perfect for wandering, and features a lovely playground, a (sometimes open) swimming pool, a library that's open for a few hours on Tuesdays and Fridays, a one-man farmer's market on Friday, and the Most Unlikely Place, an art gallery and cafe that's lives up to its name. The few people you find here are kind, curious, sociable, and generally delightful. You'd think all this would come at a sky-high price, but the prices are equal to or better than any of the chain hotels in Ogallala. For about 20 extra minutes of driving off the beaten path of Highway 80, you'll find an oasis of peace, beauty, and goodwill. Be forewarned, though: one night here will have you wanting more!
