So, an impaired driver ran into the corner of our attached garage while we were on holidays. The RCMP arrived and reports were filed. Our insurance company recommended First Onsite to do the restoration. After the Insurance suggestion a contract was signed and a cheque was issued to close the file. The cheque was issued to First Onsite and to us. Then we waited and waited and waited. No communication; No work. Once in a while someone would show up, take measurements and photographs, and leave. Never to be heard from again. We forced conversations by email and phone with the company but the answers to our dilemma of not being able to use the garage, for now 3 months were platitudes and sweet words. NO Work. I contacted the insurance adjuster and cancelled the check. Their response was to say they were sorry and have learned from our experience. So, our recommendation, avoid dealing with First Onsite. My family used ASR for a recent flooding of their home due to a broken pipe under the slab (below the floor). The entire floor of the living and dining rooms, the kitchen floor, the lower bathroom floor, the lower kitchen cabinets, and the lower part of the drywall around the dining room -- all had water damage. It took days to chose a restoration company, but our HOA had used them before and recommended them. The Project Managers were very nice, and talked good game to reassure us all would be well to clear out any mold, do the repair, and restore back. We agreed to go with ASR because they were professional, gave detailed estimates, and the total price seemed fair. Fans were brought in, walls were cut, kitchen cabinets removed, and wood & tile floors lifted and taken away -- all was going well. They were able to demolish perfectly, and left the house as neat as possible. But, that's where the problems began. Drywall was sloppily done (created bulges on wall), paint was missed and thin in parts, cabinets were to be rebuilt anew and were not, and lots of shortcuts to save dollars but create a safety hazard during the project -- I could go on and on. Bottomline, every step of the action taken were not performed well, and took a discussion/meeting that turned to an argument to try to get things right causing weeks of delays. In the end, they didn't want to finish the job which was okay by us. We figured that they couldn't be profitable to the end of the job and were going to be way over there original estimates that we had agreed to (and chosen them for it). Permits were never provided to us, clearance from the city inspectors leading us to feel they were never completed. Overall: ======= Project Management: Fair Cost Estimates: Poor Demolition: Excellent Painting: Poor Restoration & Repair: Poor PS. After we had our poor experience with ASR, we began socializing with neighbors in our complex. It wasn't such a unique experience after all. These guys were called out for a 75ft sq restroom cleanup. The toilet overflowed and they charged us $3000.00!!! Wow! And I practically begged the supervisor to please give me a heads up on the charges before and during the process. I was brushed off until they were finished and thats when the bill came in. On March 28,2022, when returning from out of town, I learned my downstairs had flooded. Thankfully, water was shut off from the street and in transit, I was able to book Thousand Oaks Plumbing to come on March 29th. Upon first inspection, the plumber said I needed to call a restoration company and thankfully, he recommended First Onsite. Within an hour, Brittany and team were here setting up fans and could not have been more professional and reassuring. Thoughout the long process, Kris, Sean and Joe were equally the same. All three were available by phone or email, professional and open to listening to my concerns and addressing with them prudently and promptly. I am a transplant to Atlanta from New York. I moved into a new complex four months ago. Six weeks after moving in, I identified a water issue that would ultimately require 2.5 months to repair. FirstOnSite's role was to audit and oversee each phase of the repair process. She is one of the first 5 homes completed after the Thomas Fire and moved-in on April 1st 2019. Last December it rained torrentially all night and we awoke in the middle of the night to the sound of water dripping into one of our bedrooms. I own a townhome so we contacted our HOA who referred us to First Onsite. First Onsite arrived within a couple of hours. They opened up the wall, set up a retainment area, and set up equipment to dry everything up. They also looked for mold. This was all orchestrated by Kris, a Restoration Manager. It took 3 months for my HOA to repair the roof and approve the repair of my wall. When it was finally approved, Kris was back with his team. They replaced the affected drywall, patched the wall and ceiling, and repainted. Kris's team was friendly, courteous, extremely competent, and most of all immaculate. My major impression of ASR is that it has some exceptional employees. For example, Lindsay got us started on the right track, explaining what was needed and how and when we could move forward. Then Paul worked with our insurance company to make sure ASR's remediation plan would be covered by my policy. Austin followed up, supervising the cleaning and painting crews. When we pointed out anything that needed attention, Austin came out and either took care of it or explained the situation. On some items, like a problematic shutter, we didn't even have to ask him to get it right. He came back three times to make sure it was cleaned and put back correctly. The best was Garrett, whose quick and effective finishing touches, like adjusting the chandelier to make it finally hang straight, was so impressive, I tried to tip him $20. He refused to accept it. Overall, ASR did great work on a difficult job. Before ASR began, the house was covered in soot and ash, and the smell and air were so bad that even the insurance adjusters had to breathe through masks. First Onsite has missed their completion promises by more than double and still counting. They told me my fire damage would take three months, it is going on 8 due to cabinets not being ordered for nearly 3 months. Once they realized their mistake tried to force us to take lesser cabinets. Those cabinets were screwed up by Menards where they shouldn't have been ordered from in the first place. When they saw my complaint their solution was for me to call the guy that dropped the ball to start with. We have been forced to hire an attorney to try and get this resolved. We are going on 8 months and they still don't have the other things complete. read more

Our insurer recommended Onsite when we had a water leak. They arrived and removed some sheetrock from our small laundry room and used dehumidifiers to dry it out. Turned out a broken wax seal was the issue. A plumber came out and replaced the wax seal. I discovered our dryer was damaged and contacted the Onsite rep. He contacted their workers who admitted they damaged the dryer. If I hadn't seen it, would they have said anything? That happened mid-July. Despite repeated promises of repairing the dryer, nothing has been done, and unless I contact Onsite to find out the status, they are silent. However, they have no problem sending their $2,289 invoice for the little work they did. That doesn't even include repair. All in all, our experience with Onsite has been disappointing and expensive. read more

From the initial task of scoping and estimating the work, to scheduling the urgent remediation and dehumidifiers, to assigning project management and scheduling the repair work, I found it easy to work with ASR and found their communication informative, useful and very responsive (texted project manager a couple times and instantly got a call back). We Made appointments with Paul Luna Of ASR following the Thomas Fire for interior cleaning and we were advised that they needed 3 other agencies to evaluate our home.- 1. contents removal company, 2. Attic/ Insulation repair company, and ASR for cleaning. We spent a couple of days with their team members evaluating our home only to find out later (weeks later we had to hunt them down) if we want an estimate we have to pay them first. Mr. Luna Quoted the price by the hour in order to get an estimate and stated they only provide estimates if the contract is signed first before any prices are disclosed. They do not give free estimates for any jobs. Its a "strong arm" tactic in order to lock in a contract without any idea of total cost -like demanding a blank check and telling you later how much you owe. Pay first, then they tell you how much. They do not provide estimates without a signed contract. This was a COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME, certainly questionable ethics. Buyer beware. read more

I contacted ASR construction for a slab leak over the holiday weekend. Turns out there were possibly mold, lead and asbestos issues as the property was over 60 years old. I called out a couple of different plumbers to at least evaluate the issue and they were reluctant to show up and when they did just said you have a major problem and good luck. I had success with ASR in the past and decided it was time to call in the big guns for the entire project. They had the slab leak fixed within hours and the place contained for any major environmental issues. They continue to work with the insurance company to replace cabinetry, flooring and repair the walls that also had water damage. When you need it all done and done right- then there is only one call to make- ASR! I LVE this company! Integrity, professionalism, responsive.....and I could go on. I had a water pipe leak in master bedroom closet Sept 21. Opened the closet doors at 5:30 AM and was hit with a cascade of cold water, soggy drywall, and insulation as the ceiling crashed down. Soaked all my clothes, shoes, purses.... yeah everything!
