    Hand cut fries

Cool old fashioned hot dog spot. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Hot dog with everything; average dog Hamburger: good but skimpy on the meat Fries: the star of the show. Perfect hand cut fries ! Gravy: excellent Nostalgia: top notch Prices: great

    George the local dog.

We went for breakfast. Food was quick, tasty and inexpensive. The servers were super nice. It's a local dive and, if you go with the right attitude, you'll love it. If you go expecting a traditional breakfast place (eg no fancy coffee or tea options) you'll be disappointed. PS LOVED George the local dog.

Just had breakfast, and passed by the famous Mike's hot dog, the people there were so friendly, since I wasn't hungry, so I ordered only one hot dog, and they were happy that we came with a big smile. The hot dog were so delicious, finest hot dog as they said!

The place was packed when we went inside. The menu is pretty limited. We ordered a large fry and 2 hot dogs. We did not get the meat sauce but was given a sample, which I was good with a little spice kick. The staff was friendly and knowledge. The hot dogs were ok and the fries were hot. I would go back but would choose other places to eat first.

Been going here for years. It's still good but just not the way it used to be. No call ahead ordering because the phone never works. Prices much higher like everything these days

    Hand cut fries? Yes please!!!

I really dig this place. It's an old Schenectady staple and the fact that its been open for over 70 years is impressive. The staff is genuinely friendly, and not that "fake friendly" you get because a modern business is afraid of a bad review. It's kind of refreshing. The environment inside has that old school vibe that takes you back in time, but not too far back. And the food is not only cheap, but actually better than what you would expect from a local greasy spoon. In fact, I specifically get the occasional craving for their hand cut fries, their little double cheeseburger, and the fantastic breakfast they serve. From reading other people's reviews, some people really dislike whatever changes were made to the hotdog meat sauce. Personally, I don't think it merits an overall low score, because it's a single element of a main dish. So it just comes across as unnecessary bashing and makes the reviewer look petty. But then again, I really dislike meat sauces in general. So what do I know? In any case, I'll be regularly enjoying Mike's food (without meat sauce) for as long as they stay open. =)

They have a homemade meat sauce (think chili) that has a little spice to it and is delicious.

I really wanted to love this place! I came here for a business lunch. Our server was very nice and…read moreefficient! I ordered the margherita panini with a side of coleslaw. The coleslaw had a rather large chunk of cabbage core on top of my portion cup, right away I knew it wasn't house made. Okay so I removed that, still excited to try the coleslaw but as I forked it I noticed the dressing had a weird texture. I smelled it and tasted it and as suspected it was about to turn. No more coleslaw for me. The panini which sounded excellent was weird. I'm just not sure why it didn't taste good with all of those wonderful ingredients. And although I'm not positive, I suspect that the chicken breast wasn't an actual chicken breast. It was an interesting texture and flavor, kind of like chicken at a theme park where it's more like a patty instead of cut right off the ribs like you would find in the grocery store. This was just an off putting food experience unfortunately. My lunch mate said that the home fries were really good and he appreciated that they gave him gluten free toast at no up charge, though he said the bread was soggy, which is an interesting comment to make about toast. He said the omelette was an omelette.

I've always wanted to visit More Perreca's on Jay St. I've heard so much about the restaurant and…read moreespecially the bakery, Perreca's, located right next door. The businesses are located a couple of blocks from the gateway marking the entrance to Schenectady's Little Italy. So much history, food and romance in this neighborhood. We had Sunday brunch at More Perreca's. The bakery is closed on Sunday but I got a Sausage Lettuce Tomato sandwich served on toasted Perreca's bread. It was so delish. The Italian sausage was served with lettuce, tomato, roasted garlic puree, mayo and side salad. Everything was so fresh. My $11 meal was reasonably priced. The garlic purée was amazing. They need to bottle it. I'd buy some. My friend had the Mac and cheese and an espresso martini. He loved both. Rachelle was our server. She was wonderful. Very helpful. She explained some of the menu to me because there were a number of Italian sausage dishes. The food was prepared quickly which was great because we were hungry. Rachelle came back later to check on us. I gave her a thumbs up and a smile while busily chewing a bite of sandwich. The restaurant is charming with nice tin ceilings and big windows to let the light in. There are many booths which makes it cozy. When we arrived most of the tables were full. Based on the chatter in the room it sounded as though a lot of friends had gathered at the restaurant to literally break bread over brunch. The menu offers a nice variety: from egg breakfasts, assorted salads to Italian classics. It was an all around yummy and enjoyable experience. I let Rachelle know that we'll be coming back.

Our server, Rachelle M. was great! My app was garlic parm wings that were tasty & crispy-perfect. Three of us had the eggs in purgatory- 3 eggs cooked in a spicy marinara sauce w/ 4 pieces of toasted Perreca's famous Italian bread. Highly recommend this dish that's always on their menu. Others had the very good eggplant rollatini over spaghetti. The original coal-fired bakery is next door offering their signature crusty bread, red tomato pie, cheeses, meatballs, salamis, soppersottas, olives, giant cupcakes, & cannolli. Located in Schenectady's Little Italy. Restaurant hours: Sun, Wed, Thursday 11am-7pm, Fri & Sat 10am-8pm, closed Mon & Tue. More's Perreca's never disappoints. Beer, wine, & cocktails served so try here for brunch too. Thank you, Rachelle & staff. We had a great time. Nick & Liz, Albany, NY, USA
