Tina Tran is a judgmental racist/prejudice, and in all my years of doing business with First Service Credit Union, I have never been treated with such disdain. I work very hard, and I just want to do my banking in peace. **Background on me (This is important)** 1) I'm a civil engineer of 11+ years. Graduated from Prairie View A&M University. 2) My credit score is 790+. 3) I started my 1st FSCU account at the South Texas Project Nuclear Operating Company. (This FSCU location requires access to do this because it's restricted to the public. I worked there for 7 years, 2015-2022.) 4) I started a short-term rental and real estate business in 2019, and I have been doing business with this bank location since then. 5) On the 8th of March, 2023 (check the notary book), Luis J. Flores, the manager, reviewed my business standing and assisted me with notarizing my warranty deed and a letter for me to start an international bank account. (I have been doing business with this bank for some time, and everyone has been great.) 6) I got my loan for my 2nd car there, a 2016 Honda Civic, that I paid off in 2.5 years. 7) I owe no debts to FSCU, and I'm always courteous to other members and staff. 8) I am always dressed clean, I have no tattoos, I speak eloquently, and I'm a respected businessman. I have locs that are well kept, and I treat myself and others with honor and respect. **The Incident (6/23/2026)** My brother usually asks for small loans from time to time, and I assist him with this from my line of credit. The loans are interest free, so I make no money off them. It's simply to help him with his business, and I have never been late on the payments, ever, with FSCU. With a credit score like mine, it's proof I'm never late. Around 9:30 a.m., I spoke with Tina Tran about 2 things: (1) Getting funds from my line of credit. (2) An onsite notary to sign the contract between my brother and myself. **Note:** My sister is a licensed attorney Graduated Widener Law, and she reviewed this document prior to my arrival at this bank. She completed the 1st transaction without issue. After telling me she was the current notary present, she asked to see a copy of the document. After 30 seconds of review, she determined that, and I quote, "She doesn't feel comfortable signing it." Some background: I have brought this same document to this bank 5+ times before. The only things that change are the dates, nothing else. The people involved, monetary amounts, legal jargon, and even the structure are all the same. It has been signed off with no issues in the past, and a very pleasant blond staff member would usually notarize the document. She stated, "The notary Acknowledgement section should be on the same page as the signatures, or else the Acknowledgement could be used anywhere." I agree!!!!!!! If the statement was generic, that would, in fact, be the case. My Acknowledgement was modified to include both names of the borrower (my brother) and the lender (myself). Tina did not read the document properly after asking to review it and took immediate judgement to make my life difficult on an unnecessary situation, denying to assist several times. (Unconscious bias/Blatant discrimination, regardless, it fits.) After I showed her both of our names on the Acknowledgement section, she then capitulated. I also stated the information in my background supporting that I'm above board and have conducted this transaction many times before. I was so disheartened and upset by the situation in the presence of Tina Tran. I was expressing to my brother, in a conversational tone (low talking voice), my background and my transactions with the institution, but you could hear that I was upset. Tina Tran then told me instead of apologizing, to calm down!!! I told her, in the same tone, sternly, and I quote, "Do not talk to me." We finished the signing, and I left. Even taking the time to write this, I feel a swell of emotions and sadness that an institution I have such a long history with would treat me in such a way. read more

She was really efficient, friendly knowledgeable and made the process super easy both my brother and I refinanced our vehicles at better rates. I've been a member of FSCU for over 3 years & just closed my account with this institution. Was never given an opportunity to build credit with them & would pay in the excess of thousands of dollars in overdraft fees over the course of my tenure with them. They never took that into consideration as well as the fact that the items listed on my credit were old items that are currently being disputed at the moment. They have no problem taking money but virtually do nothing or give chances to people seeking to build credit. Definitely a waste of time credit union that operates as a bank read more

After refinancing my car loan with this credit union they not only tacked on an additional warranty I didn't need to my loan. They are now trying to add $5,500 a year which is an additional $211 a month to my car loan stating that I need additional insurance when I'm already fully insured. I think I'm going to pass on all that craziness y'all and refinance with anyone else because in my entire life of owning cars and car loans this is the first time I've ever seen such shenanigans read more

I refinanced my car a few years back with First Service. My coworker recommended them and I got a really good rate, 1.9 or something like that. I have sinced paid off that car and just have a savings account with them. Their service has been good so far. I have dealt mostly with Ann Coleman and she is pretty helpful. This particular branch can get really busy. I recommend that if you are looking to refinance your car you take a look at their rates, they are pretty competitive! I only visit this branch when I want to withdraw some of my hard earn money, since it takes my regular bank 5 days to transfer it for my checking... sometimes I need my money yesterday. =) read more

Horrible credit union!!! Called them and let them know I was going to Las Vegas for a week and to temporarily lift the $500 atm max per day and the 2200 charge max per day so I could pay for all the hotel, car rental and extra money for my family vacation. Paid for the rental and tried to pay for the hotel and they canceled my card And of course there is nobody there to answer the phones until Monday. Called Monday and the couldn't turn the card back on and had frozen my account until I came in to a branch!!!! Are you kidding me ?? I'm on a vacation that you idiots knew about prior !!! 5 times now they have canceled my card for purchases I was making!!! It's my damn money you morons don't have the right to just keep it when ever you see fit to do so! It's a privilege for you to have my business, not the other way around. The reason for the review today is because they did it again!!!! I tried to pulse out $500 at a branch atm that I had to drive halfway across town to and they shut my card off and the atm ate it !!!! I have several thousand dollars in my account and can't use it until they send me another card that they will make me pay $5 for!!! BYE BYE crappy service credit union!!! After several years of using the bank it's finally time I close the account. I have had several unreasonably poor service experiences. Today my card was stolen. There was no way to cancel it online or from the mobile app. I tried to call but after 10 minutes I assumed the bank was closed or I had the wrong number. It was about 5:30. I then looked on the site again and found the number to report lost cards. It was the same number I dialed previously so I tried again. After 15 minutes someone answered the phone. He was a nice guy although he kept me on hold for another 5 throughout the call. After getting the card canceled he said it would cost me $5 for a replacement card. You should never have to pay for a replacement card. I have 3 other banks I do business with and they all provide much better service in my opinion. read more

Be WARNED when you use the Move My Loan program. They are very Deceptive. Be sure you can use the credit life and disability. I paid $1200.00 a year only to find out later from my attorney I could not use it, nor should it have ever been offered to me. Additionally, when you pay your note they apply your payment as follows 1) insurance 2) interest 3) principle. I made my payments at shared branching locations and never experienced problems. Anytime I made payments at the FSCU branch they claimed to not receive them. Always check your statement closely. Unlike other financial institutions they do not list your previous balance, then show how your payments are applied. They often will misplace payment and have them show up on subsequent statements. Go to bankrate.com, a before you move your loan to see if it's worth poor customer service and deceptive trade practices. If it sounds too good to be true it usually is! read more

Don't even get me started with this credit union. Where do I even begin. I have been with them for about 6-7 yrs now and it has been nothing but hell. Between starting a business bank account (Ended up going with navy federal) to cancelling both my debit and credit card because I was on deployment and didn't get emails while I was deployed. Apparantely the message was telling me they were switching to the new chip cards and my cards were going to be cancelled. Well I never had a chance to see that message because I was deployed. They left me overseas for 2 weeks with no money available. Now the newest and by far my favorite. Enter your password online 3 times. (Doesn't matter if it's 3 times in a row). 3 times period. They now lock you out of your account. They take in no consideration for the fact I have bills on autopay and I need to be able to get to my account on the weekends!!! guess what. They have no way of me being able to unlock my account on Saturday after noon or sunday. So goodluck to everyone that actually has bills to pay and may need to move money around on the weekends. Ohhhhh and then my favorite experience. Trying to buy a truck. LMAO don't even get me started on that joke. I was on them for well over a week. I was lied too. They left me dry just like I thought. ohhhh sorry you have to take out a personal loan because the truck has 270k miles. Right after they said that I went over to navy federal and navy federal had me a check for 12k in ten minutes. Not only that but the truck was appraised at 25k value because of what it was. Anyways my rant is over. Im still banking with them but only because I have to many things on autopay right now to be able to switch over. Not worth the risk quite yet. read more

This FIRST SERVICE CREDIT UNION HAS NO COMPASSION FOR ITS CUSTOMERS. I hold a savings account with first service credit union. I went there today too deposit a check into my savings account. But this check was not accepted because it is a third party check. The check is made out to my mother who was present. This check was issued from an insurance company. A little more information on my situation is my family and I were recently victims in a vehicle accident involving a drunk driver this includes my 2 infant daughters. I had purchased the vehicle that was totaled from my mother but we had not transferred the title. This is the reason the check was not issued to me. At the credit union I was told that it is up to the managers discretion if the check could be accepted. I am still wondering what the reasoning is, as to why my situation does not fall into one that the manager would see acceptable. This FIRST SERVICE CREDIT UNION HAS NO COMPASSION FOR ITS CUSTOMERS. There current slogan is BANK LIKE YOU OWN THE PLACE. This is a JOKE!!!! My employer endorses this credit union. I will be telling them and all of my co-workers about this experience. Hopefully they will find another credit union. I know i will definitely be pushing for them too. A tip that I can give you is to train your managers to take into account your loyal clients situations and needs. read more
