0/10 would not recommend! FirstService Residential has been an absolute nightmare to deal with. Their communication is beyond terrible, and honestly, it feels like HOA communities are being scammed. They send out charges with little to no explanation, and when you try to call for clarification, no one seems to know anything about what you're being billed for. Phone calls go unreturned, messages get ignored, and accountability is nonexistent. To make things worse, they will happily charge you excess amounts in late fees for payments tied to charges their own staff cannot explain. How are homeowners supposed to pay something they can't even get information about? The lack of transparency, professionalism, and customer service is unacceptable. If you are considering using FirstService Residential to manage your HOA, be prepared for frustration, confusion, and unnecessary fees. read more

Horrible service. They deserve negative stars. They are the worst management company I've experienced in 30+ years. You can't get in touch with them to fix basic issues that they created and are causing issues for you. If you do get in touch with them they just finger point between "corporate" and their onsite manager to resolve the issue. read more

Just wanted to warn other home owners associations about this management company. If you are looking for this type of service steer clear of this one! They currently manage my association and using the word manage gives them a lot of credibility which they lack. They search for violations in a community which is good but then send violation letters to homeowners when it is not their violation. I've received two which applied to neighbors issues and all they would have or should have done was send it to the correct address. Other homeowners have received the same and since it wasn't their address they ignored it. Then they find out that a $1,000 fine is levied and then the homeowners have to deal with the management companies attorney. Quite frankly, it's a scam! read more

1-star because it's required to have "something" BUT they get negative 1000%. These are by far the worse of any lot of people in this organization and should not be managing properties. In the past they would issue unfounded and unwarranted violations to my property. When I questioned their source and showed proof the violations had nothing to do with my property they continued issuing violations. I found out it was from the neighbors who I believe were targeting my property since it was a rental and were notifying the HOA who didn't do ANY fact checking. This isn't the only issue with them and it's clear they are completely out of touch with the residential community. Fast forward to moving on from this nonsense... I recently ( 7/2024 ) sold the townhome property in the Riverchase condo community in Maryland under them as the HOA managers. Closing was 2 months ago and they were notified of the sale and knew I was no longer the owner and yet, and YET I am still getting notices for monthly payment of fees AND the kicker, they had the nerve to send it to collections. I received a first invoice for August just after closing and was told by the HOA that it would take 2 weeks to record new ownership. Apparently not true and I believe any conversations had with them cannot be trusted. Clearly there is a disconnect in this organization and they could care less since it's not affecting them. I've asked my title company to reach out to them AGAIN to get what ever documents resent to the HOA to show I am no longer responsible and PAID up to the closing. At the day of closing, all fees were paid to those owed. I had to send all my documentation showing I owe NOTHING to First Service since the collections agency is who I need to dispute this action with in order to not have my credit affected. I just wonder if they are sending ME notices, what are they sending to the new owner and is she paying like she's supposed to? But it's a "I just wonder" I really don't care. It's the next day after writing this review and I had to come back to make a comment about this. I got in touch with I'm assuming First Service internal collection agency, which has the same address as FS. I'm sure that there's a conflict of interest there somewhere. Anyway, I spoke to someone and explained I no longer own the property for which they are trying to collect fees from me. I told her Alicia Menefee, who is titled as the community association manager for FS at Riverchase, said to me in an email that it would take two weeks to change my name and remove it as owner of record. According to the person I spoke with, it takes 30 to 45 days. Here's the kicker if it takes that long to do a records update, have a process in place so that FS is not sending bogus information to collections to ruin the lives of people because of your own ineptness to properly update and monitor sales transactions. I have tried to get FIRST SERVICE for over 4 years to correct their records for my property ownership and they cannot get it corrected. EVERY time they send out documentation it is wrong. They do a terrible job at follow up and getting back to homeowners in properties they manage. DO NOT HIRE THEM! read more

Non-responsive! Extremely slow to the point of cost consumers more money than expected. I am not sure how this company gets new business given their reputation. I have worked with them personally and professionally and they are consistently unprofessional nor do they care. This is an unfortunate side effect of poor management when you get so big that business just falls in your lap. In most cases I do not think the board members of these communities realize how horrible their service front-end is. Condo building on Bayshore, south Tampa, Fl. From my perspective they have keep very few of their promises that they made to get on the property. Have managed to get rid of all our vendors of 10+ years, replacing them with their " preferred vendors". A number of our bills have been paid late or not at all. Just the other day their manager accused me of attempting to defraud my association. He had the facts all screwed up and can't seem to count to six. Can be very disrespectful even to board members at board meetings. So many residents are unhappy with them I hope to see a number of board members replaced at our next election. read more

The service we've received from this company is extremely poor. Any concern we have ever had never gets addressed. I have reached out to Vanessa multiple times in a polite manner and I either get no response or told there is nothing that can be done. It is very disappointing because our concerns are about our place of residence and unfortunately when they don't get fixed properly, the residents suffer while this company continues to profit. Vanessa has reached out to us once when she had an issue, but when it's us with the problem she chooses to ignore it. Very unhappy with the way this company is run, it is not that difficult to solve a simple problem...or let alone, respond at all to the customer you are "serving". They always direct you back to their website which is very difficult to use since they have so many locations. No one on the phone can do anything.
