Easy to use website for booking. The lady at the store is also very nice and helpful. Overall a great experience for first time fishing like me.

    Amazing views of the bay

We did a crabbing charter and came bag with 20 crabs. They were delicious and it was well worth it. From 5am arrival to leaving the parking lot at 4:30pm this was an all day experience in the pacific ocean. Cruising by Alcatraz and going out (and back) under the Golden Gate Bridge were added bonuses. The captain and crew were tremendously helpful and there for anyone anytime they needed something. We would recommend this to anyone looking for a fun experience.

Second time using the pacific pearl. Limited on crabs and rockfish. Captain JJ and both deck hands (Jonathan and Matt) were very helpful and efficient. Definitely will be booking any future trips with the pacific pearl.

Halibut, had to return to sea

I had reservations based on the mixed reviews, but my experience was totally 5 star on the boat named TigerFish. The skipper & deck hands made it a great experience. This was for the half day halibut and striped bass experience (5:30am-1 pm) I am clueless about fishing so it was nice everything was already set up by the rail. My only job was to watch. Each time we caught a fish the deckhands (John) and the skipper (Al) came to help us netting and freeing the fish from the hook. Between 3 of us we reeled in 6 halibuts but all had to be thrown back due to size limits. The whole boat of 15 patrons must have caught over 30 fishes (halibuts, striped bass, snappers) and at least half were keepers. You can keep fish whole or can ask them to fillet. It's a small boat with tight quarters but enough to seat 15-20, one small toilet for all. Would definitely return to this company and in particular this boat for future fishing trips. Two king salmon. Pacific Pearl. 7.30.22

Personally I wouldn't call myself a successful fisherman (PePe Le Pew get to my fish before I do.) But you wouldn't have known that after a salmon trolling trip with the Pacific Pearl this weekend. Ended up limiting out with 2 King salmon, and one was more than 20 lbs. Shout out to first mate Alex Boulder Shoulders, deck hand Darren Phelps, and captain Andy for making this possible. My experience with salmon fishing on the Pacific Pearl was nothing short of amazing. I was looking forward to this trip so much that I didn't sleep the night before and was running on pure hype and adrenaline (not recommended.) You meet interesting people, the environment is friendly, you'll learn a lot from the deck hands, and your chances of catching a salmon is pretty high. Signing up is quite easy, you head to Fish Emeryville's website and book a spot on what suits you. Be sure to read which listing they have, certain boats do different things: salmon, or lingcod/rockfish, tours, and private charters. Some tips for new people like me. Free parking as of 7/30/22 When the option comes for rentals I highly recommend it; chances are you probably only seen YouTube videos of people doing it and not firsthand. The rods are rigged up for you hassle free, and the tackle is a must unless you have multiple 2.5 lbs sinkers, sinker releases, and the correct leader on hand. Make sure to bring a valid fishing license or day pass. They do pre-orders. The trip I took departed at 5:30 am, check in starts at 4:45 am. It's dark save a few lights. Check in is on the boat itself, just head towards the boating ramp. Bring some snacks and water, you're going to be out for more than 7 hours at sea, need to refuel. Dress in layers, with the outer having some water proofing. Sometimes you're in the rain, sometimes the sun beats down on you. Have fun. I get that there will be some sort of anxiety until you get a bite, but man, once you get to be the guy that says "FISH ON!", all of that washes away.

This is an adventure you'll remember for years! We purchased a half-day trip with Fish Emeryville for around 300 bucks including bait and tackle. As two amateur fishers, we were completely supported throughout the day and I never felt like I didn't have someone to help me with my line or my bait. The boat takes off at 8am and we got to see the sun light up the San Francisco skyline with a beautiful golden glow. Meanwhile the sea breeze is hitting your face. I absolutely loved the boat ride and we hadn't even started fishing yet. We ended up right outside the bay bridge. We hooked on our live bait and then waited for the fish to start biting. And bite they did!!! I caught 10 fish on the whole trip. If you're looking for an adventure for your staycation, check out Fish Emeryville for a wonderful experience with qualified and a really nice crew.

Wait.. what is that halibut doing there?!

The crew was nice, helpful and efficient especially when loading the ferry with customers and holding people and ancillary staff. #109 Thank you Capt…read more Dennis and companion (dog) for an amazing trip around the city via the Bay. We saw so many things up close and personal--in a way I have never experienced the Bay Area before--even after 11 years here. The weather was a little cooler than normal, and then on the water it was that much cooler, but it really did not bother any of us as we brought jackets and wore warmer clothing--Bay Area in July, right? While everyone else, everywhere else is in short shorts and tank tops, we are out here in Uggs and sweaters (oh yeah, and our short shorts ;) A friend told me about this sailing tour and I actually got super excited. I asked two of my close friends to join me and we were off for our "day on the Bay". We entered by way of the Berkeley Marina and parked easily. We brought wine, cheese, fruit and a few other snacks for the tour. It was a whole day event, so I was glad my friend told me what to bring. We saw the Gold Gate Bridge from underneath as we crashed on the egregious waves and held on tightly to the boat. We saw beautiful Angel Island and toured past Alcatraz too. Strange to think that this prime piece of real estate was used to house America's worst criminal minds. I guess everyone deserves a view of nature. We could see the East Bay as we set sail and ventured over to the other side--and then around the whole thing almost. It was so amazing. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who loves sailing, loves water, loves the Bay--yeah, I guess I would recommend it to anyone. Capt. Dennis we will be back to ride with you again. Thank you for a wonderful day. Stephani Smiles for Imagine Sailing Tours :) #captdennisisarockstar

I do not normally post reviews and was debating whether to post it but decided it would be helpful…read morefor others. I was on a hiking trip with this group (Dec 2025-Jan 2026) to Utah national parks. Instead of snowshoeing because of weather the leader (Preston) offered 10 miles hike in Bryce. This was not posted on the trip itinerary as an alternative in case of not appropriate for snowshoeing weather. There were 4 women in the trip including myself. Three -very fast hiker including one of them-trail runner. I was totally fit for the trip because of other recent hikes and other physical activities. However, I am a slow hiker but always reach the summit. In addition, the trail was covered with deep mud which slowed me down. I was left in the middle of the Bryce wilderness alone, no one checked if I was still behind. I lost sight of the others, and the trail was going to different directions, I did not know where to go and when I called the leader, he did not answer. I felt completely excluded, in a complete wilderness. It was really stressful as I am not used to be alone in the wilderness with no one around. This is unacceptable, what if something happened to me. I have never experienced this with any group before on any of my trips. Before this hike the leader said that I should not go or to go and hang around on the ridge and wait for them. He said they would not wait for me as I am slower than the rest of the group. Also unacceptable as the slow hiker should be accommodated, not just advise not to go. To tell the person who flew from east coast (others were from CA) not to go because I am slower than other - really rude. Alternatively, groups should be selected properly to align people who hike with same pace. On their site it does not mention anything about pace meaning that all hikers have to be accommodated. In addition, before the trip I specifically pointed to the sale person that I was looking a moderate hike. At another hike, there was raining, I got wet despite a rain poncho and I asked the leader to dry out in the lodge, he said -No, you will dry in the bus. I got really sick and it lasted 2 weeks when I returned to NJ. There was always unnecessary rush and not a polite attitude. Also, the leader spoke very negatively about some wild life - squirrels that he hated and kicked them of when they came closer. When I told him that he should not speak of any animals like this, he said that because they spread diseases. I have never heard anything like this in any of my trips with different companies. I am very sensitive about animals as many other people are. Regardless, a person with this attitude towards animals is not a good fit with nature and job he does. All leaders have to be advised to be cognizant in this regard. Very disappointing experience...

Apparently Zack was hyper focused on them almost the entire time, moving their equipment around without asking, hovering over them, ordering them around, and even openly made fun of my partner for the noises he made while using the bathroom! This was obviously targeted as my partner had observed over the trip that no one else on the boat was being treated this way. A different crew member had actually noticed this as well and agreed with my partner about Zack's behavior. To me this is insanely unacceptable to have someone like this on a boat crew that hosts people. My partner was super excited for this trip, he spent a lot of money for him and his friends to go and put in a lot of effort to make the trip happen. It's not often he does stuff for himself and he was really looking forward to it. After he came home he was just about in tears talking about it. It really hurts to see someone you care about look so crushed. My partner is a kind, friendly, and respectful person and did not do anything to deserve this kind of treatment. I'm really disappointed and angry for him and his experience. Aside from that - his experience with the rest of the crew and Captain J was great. Thank you Captain J for hearing him out afterward. I strongly recommend getting rid of this guy before he messes things up for your business and continues to hurt people. It's complete BS for this kind of thing to happen to not just a respectful paying customer but someone who didn't do anything but be black. Come on.
