In response to Todd T and his review. I had a similar experience a few years ago where their "drywallers", left a ton of nail pops everywhere. I counted 24 in the one bathroom alone. When I complained about it, I too was met with a very angry owner named Denny. Just a cussing and everything. He came back out and fixed everything, but it was a hassle. I paid $3400 to him for a large and small bathroom to fix them like new and I had to have it all redone 2 yrs later. The drywallers and painters are sub-contractors too, but the painters did a good job the first time, they had sharp lines and did a great job. But when they had to paint the second time, not so much. I think they were in a hurry and just did it to get out. Plus, he used Sherwin Super Paint in my bathrooms, instead of using a semi-gloss to help protect from moisture runs in the paint. After 2 yrs I had to repaint because it looked worse than before they painted. I had the water run stains everywhere in both bathrooms. Even the paint around all 3 tub surrounds was peeling. And the repairs to my ceiling was the exact same issue I had before they came (4 large nail pops in one section), they apparently did not do a very good job when they supposedly ripped it all out and redone that section. Also wish he would had told me Super Paint is one step above contractor grade paint and that I should have used something better. The new painters used Emerald semi-gloss. The painters suggested it and said Super Paint is garbage. I did not know at the time. Needless to say, this was the first and last time I used Fish. read more

Denny and his crew were able to install and finish an entirely new ceiling in a 33' x 32' vaulted great room in short order and with quality. Would definitely use them again for future drywall projects. read more

We recently completed a multi-room project with FISH Painting and Drywall. I am very pleased with the results and it was a pleasure doing business with them. I love the professionalism. They're on time and just do an awesome job. They replaced our ceiling in the kitchen that actually was redone from another nameless company! They put in trim that I absolutely love on our back door. We also had a new valve added where drywall was cut out. They built us a new cover so we'd have access to valve. Well...they discovered the new valve leaked, told us right away so we could have that looked at again. I appreciate the honesty they displayed and not just covering that up. Fish Drywall's quote was 30% lower than the other quotes we received so we decided to go with them since they had many good reviews on Angie's List. We had some major issues in the finishing of the drywall. When I called Dennie to tell him that we had issues with the joints he went off on me on the phone and started yelling "are you a drywall finisher"and told me I did not know what I was talking about. He later called back and apologized for his behavior. He came to our home the next day he stated that we had a reason to be unsatisfied because the joints were completely over sanded. You could see the depressions in the wall from 10 feet away. I tried to tell him this on the phone the evening before but he would not listen. He did come and put more mud on the joints and it helped hide some of the issues but not completely. I also found another issue in one of the corners. The drywall hanging crew added a stud in the corner that overhung the bottom plate by .5". This caused the wall to bow badly in that area and would have made it impossible to install baseboard. He blamed me for the framing and said that his guy just aligned it with bad framing. I was home all day when the hanging crew was there and I told them to come and get me if they needed any additional studs added. They did not do that they added it themselves. He did cut it out and replace it but he complained the whole time. During all these repairs he kept asking for more payment and I did not feel comfortable giving any more money until the job was complete. I gave him 50% of the total at the beginning. The final night he was at our home his temper flared again because I was questioning the joints. It appeared they were still showing defects. He got all upset and started saying that I needed to pay him and there's nothing else he could do. I told him that I would pay when the job was done correctly. He stormed out of the house and said I would be hearing from his attorney. After he left, I applied another coat of primer to the joints and it covered the defects. It was the chalk he used in the mud bleeding through the primer. I was planning to let the primer dry for 24 hours to make sure then I was going to pay him the remaining balance. The following afternoon I received a call from a debt collection company out of Florida saying I was going to be sued by Fish Drywall and Painting because I had a balance that was overdue since January. I told the person that they had just finished the job the evening prior. I had to work through this company to settle the payment which I did not feel I should have had to do. Bottom line, Dennie has a bad temper especially when you question anything. I tried to call him after the first coat was applied because it did not look right and he kept saying don't worry everything will be ok and would not come and look at it. When things turned bad he just kept loosing his temper. Please think twice before hiring this company. read more
