I came in from Florida to vist family and they said we had to come to Fisher and Company for Steak. My Cousin, My uncle and I each got the Ribeye. They were grilled, with great flavor, but I would say they were slightly over. I had a side salad with an amazing homemade bluecheese dressing. They had several dressings they said were all homemade. I also had some mushrooms that were really tasty. My aunts each had grilled chicken with an onion jam that was pretty tasty. They give you bread, they had beer, but I didn't have any. They had a board with specials and desserts. The server was really nice, but seemed like maybe they could use another server or 2. Its pretty small, but everything I saw looked great. If I make it back, I will get BBQ and this stuffed potato I saw come out. read more

Went here today with some regulars and was impressed with the food, service, and atmosphere. Prices are reasonable and the building (an old hardware store) is really cool. After almost two months of not eating out we decided to get take out dinner from Fisher and company for Mother's Day. Was a little worried it wouldn't be the same as dining in but boy we were wrong! The meal was exceptional! Every detail down to butter for our rolls was included. Ribs were smoked to perfection, crab cakes were nicely done and the desserts were tasty. While visiting family I had the chance to have dinner here. With the limited choices in the area I was pleasantly surprised . I ordered the half rack of ribs with a potato and coleslaw everything was good. Ribs had a good smoke flavor that was not overpowering potatoes lets face it they all taste the same, but the coleslaw was great. Maybe it is because I have been in Virginia Beach too long and no one makes it fresh, but it sure was good. I only hate to report that I was so full that I did not have the chance to try any of the desserts. I have been told they are all made from scratch also and that is something I hate to miss. I look forward to the next visit and maybe this will encourage me to get back just a little faster. Thankfully there is now something to look forward to while visiting. read more

What a great spot! We were visiting family in the area and decided to make a reservation because we'd heard good things. While we waited for dinner, the kitschy decorations kept our attention as we wondered whether the various antiques were for sale -- we think not. I think our overall impression can be summed up by my brother who said, "Those were the best ribs I've ever had. Ever." My brother is quite the rib aficionado. Indeed, they were. The meat was fall-off-the-bone good and the sauces were deliciously complementary. One member of our party ordered a salad, which looked quite impressive. The rest of us had either ribs or the barbecue (which received rave reviews, as well). The place was packed! We were intrigued as we saw the side dishes and specials get erased from the chalk board as the kitchen ran out of these items. Overall, my my impression is a really good one. My boyfriend and I visited this place last summer and oh my, the food was so good!! I got pulled pork and it was great! I also had a baked potato and cinnamon apples. I love BBQ! I live BBQ! I cook BBQ! Smoke is used to flavor meat just as you add a spice blend, injection or Sauce for added flavor. Ordered a full rack of ribs and for the price, was very satisfied with the quantity of the food. Ordered to go and as I headed home the smell from the bag certainly had my interest. I was anticipating this first bite and . . . smoke, smoke, smoke. Next bite, smoke, smoke and more smoke! Nothing but smoke! The sides were good but could not eat the ribs for the intense smoke flavor. Could not really taste any rub or spice blend but ribs were very tender and meaty, just way too smoky! Was very disappointed but because I love BBQ, will probably give then another chance down the road but no time soon. I had hoped to have some great BBQ after The Hokies took down Florida State but was very disappointed with my stop at Fisher! read more

Though it be small, this restaurant is like stepping back in time. The atmosphere is meticulously decorated in primitives and the building itself is even historic. The food is really good too! The stars for me are the baked beans and bbq. Those baked beans though... They steal the show for me! Don't plan on just popping in here. Half the time you need a reservation on weekends because it's got limited seating and it's known for being good. Their hours throughout the rest of the week are weird. read more

We tried this charming restaurant on the recommendation of a friend. It appears to be an old general store and still has shelves with cool stuff. It is small so I would guess you might need reservations for dinner which is only served Friday and Saturday. Our server was friendly and attentive.
