Craftsmanship Rebuilds an Extraordinary Corner Mansion Beautiful, immaculate, and comfortable with a fascinating story, Fisher House Bed & Breakfast offers a lovely stay in Clinton, Iowa on a corner in walking distance of downtown shops, the amazing Seven Hills Brewery with wood-fired pizza, and the Mississippi River levee. Four traditionally furnished bedrooms (two queens, one king, and one king suite) have tasteful colors, lots of light, and crafted details. Each of the second floor bedrooms has an en suite bathroom with different combinations of tubs and/or showers. A huge bonus is a pleasant communal kitchen at the end of the wide hallway which has a small outside landing. We stayed in the Charles Baldwin Room with a lovely four-poster bed. Peggy reviews all breakfast choices for guests with an eye to any specific dietary needs and from continental to full breakfast has generous, delicious options. The welcoming entry opens to a main floor with a quiet living room, classic dining room, and enjoyable game/billiards room. This is not a remodel; this total rebuild was done with thoughtful planning and superb craftsmanship by the owners Dan and Peggy Fisher. Many aspects of the maple window trims, pocket doors, and wood flooring were custom made by Dan and his crew. The exterior is still in process. Wood was an important economic driver of Clinton, so the woodwork is a tribute to the town. We are already revising travel plans to revisit Fisher House. That says it all. read more

Not only is this home beautiful, but it had great amenities like, pool table, poker table, games, puzzles, guest kitchen with snacks and bottled water and an overall relaxing atmosphere. I can not say enough about this house and the wonderful owners Peggy and Dan. This was our 1st time at a bed & breakfast experience, and It was nothing short of SPECTACULAR! The food was great, and it was nice talking with the owners at breakfast to get their back story about how they started their business. The restoration of this Victorian home was a delight to behold. No attention to detail was overlooked. All rooms were well furnished and quite comfortable. It was easy to imagine life above the norm at the turn of the century. The upstairs breakfast kitchen was very comfortable and in December the heated tile floor was a wonderful surprise. The price was quite reasonable when one considers what comparable accommodations would cost! We were there with another couple and wish we could have stayed longer. We never got to use the game table or play billiards in the game room. Would not hesitate to return. read more

The hosts, Dan and Peggy, have done a great job with this property. We really enjoyed their company and all the attention to detail they put into their remodel of this beautiful building. We had a couple special requests and they were very accommodating. We stayed in the Frank Ward room, which would be great for an extended stay due to the extra room. But all the rooms looked beautiful. This is a much better option than the usual hotel, and my wife and I both highly recommend it. read more

Clinton now has a charming bed and breakfast: restored Queen Anne Victorian home with quiet, beautifully decorated accommodations and outstanding woodworking detail. Walking distance from downtown neighborhood bars and restaurants and the scenic Mississippi. Value priced competitive with local hotels but with much more personality and comfort. Second floor king or queen Tempur-Pedic bedrooms with private bath, TV, and internet connectivity. Friendly owners serve a morning breakfast in the first floor dining room. Wonderful place for a relaxing time away or as a base for a business trip to the area. read more

Just an amazing place! Comfortable, warm, and friendly. A perfect bed and breakfast. I stayed in the Frank Ward room and it was the most comfortable bed I'd ever slept in. Ok, so I might be biased. Frank Ward was my great grandfather. The new owners of the house have done a truly fantastic job restoring the house to its original charm. I was truly honored that they kept the history of the house, even hanging a photo of my great grandfather in the bedroom. It is seriously a comfortable place and easily the best place to stay in Clinton. read more

You will not find a more beautiful B&B ! Awesome beds for a restful night sleep in a beautiful room. Kitchen available down the hall. Wonderful hosts Dan and Peggy are the nicest couple and you will not be disappointed. Sit on the gorgeous porch with a glass of wine and let your worries drift away! We stayed 2 nights at the Fisher's B&B, it was a great stay, comfortable beds, beautiful house. They have a game room on the 1st floor that we took full advantage of with another couple we stayed with (Pool table, poker table). There was a guest kitchen on the 2nd floor that we took full advantage of as well. Bottled water in the fridge, coffee each morning and snacks on the counter. Each bedroom had it's own bathroom, so we didn't have to worry about waiting or sharing with others. The whole house was very well thought out for guests to stay and maximize their visit. I can't say enough about how comfortable and at home we all felt. Would definitely stay there again if ever visiting Clinton. read more

Honestly to God, one of the nicest places I have ever stayed. My boyfriend and I stayed over Valentine's Day weekend. The owners are so friendly and made everyone feel at home. They have the sweetest dog that is playful and well mannered. The room was gorgeous and the owners even surprised us with flowers and chocolate. There is a private kitchen for guest with fresh coffee. We got the couple massage in the morning and the beds were brought right to our room. We definitely will be back. I wish I could give more stars. read more

There's no where else I would ever stay in Clinton, now that I've gotten to stay here. The house is gorgeous- completely redone with all of the modern conveniences you want, but maintaining some original Victorian charm. Beds are memory foam. Marble in the bathroom. Peggy and Dan have done an amazing job and are superb hosts. Highly recommended. read more
