On Dec 15 I had a one hour interview with Klye and Todd. Kyle scheduled a follow up meeting for additional info on our current accounts. I was sent a link and then it was removed. When I first retired years ago I made an appointment with Fisher Investments. I brought a list of all my investments and met with a representative who worked out of a rented office space near where I lived. I was most interested in understanding historical rates of returns on their portfolio's. A few years ago I decided to remove myself emotionally from investing, and split my company 401k between two active investment firms, one being Fisher, and the other Merrill. I still maintain control of my Roth IRA. With this strategy, I can weigh the differences in the returns against each other. Fisher fees are high, that is clear, but I am happy with my returns as well as the other services they have offered. Absolutely, but I am now retired and not interested in doing market research. I have nothing against holding funds like VOO, etc., but you get the poor performers with the strong in that case. I felt they were just pushy sales people And Jeff Fisher seems to just want to continue to grow his base bigger and bigger, but these reviews are very helpful . I signed with Fisher investments, but then I backed out after speaking to a different financial advisor. Who had clients leave for Fisher and come back within six months. Adding an updated review on Fisher as it has been almost 5 years with them and things are still going great. Past 5 years the economy had plenty of ups and downs and IMHO Fisher navigated through it magnificently. YoY growth is still outperforming all the indexes. What I have noticed is when the market drops, Fisher minimizes the losses and when the market has an upturn, Fisher really outperforms and races ahead. It seems their strategy is always 1 step in front of what is about to happen. Guessing the Fisher Crystal Ball is doing its job! Overall, if you are patient with the market and let Fisher do their jobs (remember their fees are variable so if you do well - they do well) I would think investors would be pleased. I have 100% confidence in the Fisher process / strategy and plan to continue to use them until past retirement! read more

They are not honest. They explained during the initial courting of landing you as a fee paying client that they will gain 8-9% year over year. I decided to move just over $400k over to their managed service, and in just two short years, they managed to lose nearly 75k of my retirement savings. They took fees quarter over quarter even given the major loss I suffered. When they sell you on their service, they explain they have a team of professional financial experts that pay attention and tune your portfolio often to adjust for changes in the market. It turned out, they never really made any changes and simply lost money and then explained that I'd have to ride the market wave and wait for the market to rebound. I fired Fisher about five weeks ago, and started to self manage my future retirement funds. I'm finally back on track and now well over $625k in just four short weeks. It's taken some research and moving funds around.... But paying close attention to the market, studying which companies to buy into, and watching the market closely pays off. Fisher is dishonest, and they really don't care to help you return profits on your investments. In fact, all they really care about is earning their fees. I've never been so dissatisfied and disappointed by a professional service in all my career and life. These funds are my retirement and livelihood. It's extremely serious and critical to my family's future, and Fisher really does not care about their client. They care about their profits. I guess after going through this experience, I feel like I should have known that..... but when they sell the service to you, they say a lot of the right things and they are believable. I learned the hard way. I'm now self managing and back on track. I'll never let a company like Fisher deceive me again. It's too bad. You need a minimum of $100,000 cash and they charge 1.5% Assets under management which over the years will cost you thousands. The negative reviews I see here are similar to all the other reviews I have seen elsewhere and correspond to my personal experience. read more

you are better off using some sort of robo reallocation investments algorithm. They do better when client do better! sure, they charge a flat 1.125% or 1.25% of AUM, so when your assets decline, they still collect the flat fee. I think they should not charge any fees if they manage your assets and the value falls below what you came in with. This is a marketing ploy, "they do better when clients do better." They should also add that they still do better when the client's assets de-values as well. Also, the custodian they assign you (a sell-side broker) will charge you high commissions on transactions, which is another cost that the client has to pay. When I took over financial management for my mom for the last 3 years of her life, we went through 3 advisors, each progressively more disappointing. When mom passed, the advisor that we had gave us very poor information about the process involved with splitting assets and couldn't answer many of our questions with confidence. Worst decision I made with my savings! I was roped in by a persistent salesman who gave me the impression that Fisher Investment's analysis and selection of stocks was somehow better than market indices. Don't be fooled by their sales gimmicks and the month I handed over the reins to Fisher Investment in 2022, the market went down. Not to mention the market dropped sharply and my portfolio with Fisher dropped 5% further in addition to the market (S&P500) downturn. I still held on for over an year to see if it will catch up with market (S&P500) and year later it is still lagging the market. From what I observed, they don't seem to actively trade and only do minimal changes since they believe so strongly in their stock selection which eventually ends up under performing the market. My strong suggestions to anyone looking for money managers: 1) Don't go with sales gimmicks alone, always read other customers' reviews. Their 1.25% - 1.5% fees is definitely not worth their performance. 2) There are several high quality broad-market ETFs and mutual funds that consistently beat S&P500 with much lower expense ratios and fees. You'd be much better off going with a few high quality funds if you want to beat the market. 3) I don't understand their argument that you can only evaluate their performance over a longer time horizon. Winners in the world of finance are those who adapt to current market conditions and don't wait for longer horizon. Performance of funds are evaluated annually, performance of companies are evaluated quarterly and annually, performance of employees are evaluated annually, and I could go on. If you cannot show performance consistently year after year, you are certainly not qualified to manage savings and nest eggs of customers. read more

A couple months ago, I received a letter from Fisher Investments. My wife and I met with the Fisher salesman at my office, He reviewed my portfolio's for our retirement and investment accounts. He sat across from my desk making faces as he reviews my stock picks. I didn't go with him because I felt his attitude and questions were foolish. I was 65 at the time and he wanted to know more about my risk tolerance that anything. I was 65, of course I want as little risk as possible. One of the stocks I own he hated paid me 20k in dividends. What I have learned over the past few years is to properly manage a 7 figure portfolio is a full time job to do it properly. There are some great income funds out there and banks are paying 5 1/2" on CD's. So what works for me is 1/3 no risk, 1/3 high dividend income funds and 1/3 low risk div. paying low risk. I was working with Fisher about 5 years ago and decided not to use them. They have been persistently calling me ever since. I have blocked at least 30 phone numbers. Most of the money they take from customers appears to be spent on advertising rather than to manage customers accounts. read more

Beware they will take 1.5% of your money whether you make money or not. I don't know about you that thousands of dollars for the average investor. Before the trouble started and market was strong I questioned why I was up daily less than the market. Answer, you are in safe investments, so you are protected from down market. When trouble started I questioned why am I not more in cash, instead 100% in equities. They strongly urged me to stay positioned where I was. When 25% of my intvestment with them vanished I said I am out of here. I demonstrated to my rep that on every single up day I am up less than the major indices, and on down days I am down more. After deep diving into where they had me positioned it made zero sense for a 60+ soon to retire person. My 401K, IRA, personally manged portfolio and most people I know with professionally managed accounts did not do nearly as bad as Fisher did. I was skeptical about "making money in a down market" but based on some peoples reviews I decided to give them a chance. My skepticism was accurate and we lost $130,000 in 2 months.
