As someone who normally doesn't leave reviews, I must leave one for this. I am so happy with all the help and support from RoundLeaf!! I was in need of desperate help with my mothers debt and Roundleaf's program made it easier for us financially. While it can take some time to get results, it is important to be patient and trust the process! We started the program in December 2022 and finished in March 2023. It all depends on the debt one has. What helped us get results sooner was having the money ready for any settlements offered, or you can just pay monthly and wait to let the amount grow and with those monthly payments that can be used towards any settlements later. They didn't notify me I was being sued until a year after the suit was filed. Did they not know or just forget to tell me? 3 I was not given a full refund and the release was illegal. It prohibited me from reviewing Roundleaf on Yelp. After I filed the review I got daily calls from your attorney threatening me with legal action. I had to block his number. Edit 12-11-2017: Kevin and Richard have been extremely helpful and have worked around all of my issues and requests. 8 or 9 months into the program now, and I have no complaints whatsoever with how they've handled everything so far. My initial concerns regarding follow-up are no longer issues, and I've had no issues with contacting them and receiving prompt responses. Thank you guys very much for your help! My friend had gone through Roundleaf before and had suggested that I do the same. Finished going in for some consultation almost 2 ago. Richard sat me down and patiently went through everything with me by reviewing my financials, making suggestions on how to improve life, and letting me know how Roundleaf can help me save money and get me back on my feet. It was a good presentation, and based on that alone, I would have given it 5 stars. However, I called in one day to see if my first payment would go through. First, I left a voicemail message, but it was never returned. Then I called in again, and a lady answered. She seemed very rude, didn't care to listen to you, and tried to talk over you as you tried to ask her questions. After finally getting her to listen and getting my question across, she confirmed that my payment/deposit would post on the 15th, but would take a few days until I see the payment deducted from my bank account. 7 or 8 days later, the first payment was still not deducted from my bank account. So I called in again and a different woman answered (I think). Complete opposite of my first phone conversation. This woman was very professional and seemed like she knew exactly what she was doing. She listened carefully and helped me resolve my issue. After that, I received a follow-up call from Richard to inform me that my deposit would go through soon, and I should have recurring payments afterwards. Based off one rude representative, an initial lack of follow-up, and what seems to be a lack of organization or structure, I can't give a 5-star rating at this time. Once I see my initial deposit deducted from my bank account, and recurring payments process through with no issues, I will re-evaluate this review and adjust accordingly. Could not find my original review to update it, or I certainly would. Notice how most of the reviews are from fake accounts? Nice. Richard is as low as it gets. Makes tons of promises, you pay, pay, pay some more, and well nothing happens. Money goes into an "escrow" account that you do not have access to. They tell you to stop paying your bills and eventually you are so far under they can't get you out. Don't get me started on Lorena, she's so full of herself I don't think she realizes it. Her customer service is awful. Look carefully at each yelp review and the person who writes them, and their profiles. Notice similarities? Richard picks and chooses who he wants to work with and truly make changes for. Speaking for all my brown folks, run, and fast. What he offers you can do yourself, otherwise if you are in need of a full service company. Do your research. This guy is a damn fraud. read more

HOLYCRAP. Long story short - I owed 49,000 in hospital bills that ended up at a collections company that kept calling me and sending me bills every month to pay up. I was really annoyed and stressed the hell out back then because of this. I mean, I couldn't pay the 48,000 up front and they wanted 800 a month minimum to pay off the stupid bill. There's no way I could front this type of money at the time so I was recommended to look at Roundleaf for solutions. Roundleaf negotiated with the collections company to have me on a plan where I can put aside 500 a month via automatic withdrawal out of my checking account into a holdings account that the collections company can see. The whole idea was that the collections company will see that I am truly putting money aside to pay them back and they will stop bothering me. This is one thing I truly appreciated. The fact that I stopped receiving phone calls daily and stopped having to open up the same mail every month asking for money for a bill I couldn't pay at one time. Another thing I appreciated about this was that my credit score was not ruined and protected because the collection company couldn't report that I was just avoiding them(AWESOME). The plan was also to keep negotiating to see when the collections company would settle. I am around 9500 in my holdings account and I guess I lucked out BIG. Richard gave me a call today to notify me about some seriously good news. He told me that the collections company actually got sick of waiting for my money to build up and decided to send my account back to the original hospital related company that was billing me. That company turned out to be bankrupted and cannot accept the account so now I don't owe anybody money. I will be getting my entire 9500 bucks back!!! OMFG. Richard then also asked me if I owed Bally Total Fitness 800 bucks from way back. Holycrap, I did! I completely forgot about it since it was like almost 10 years ago. Basically I will be getting my entire money back from my holdings account and they will now be working to clear up the Bally Total Fitness bill too so my credit score can be even better! I can't thank this company enough for improving my quality of life the last 3 years financially and dong all this work to help me reach this type of luck. Sketchy debt settlement company. The will offer you a discount in their service before you actually do the program (which is probably why they have so many 5 star reviews). The idea is that you pay a certain amount of money into a separate bank account every month (that you can't access), while you stop paying your creditors. These are the downsides of this program: 1) All your credit accounts will be charged off and your credit report will be damaged for seven years (derogatory info can stay on your report up to 7 years). 2) They only work with unsecured lines of credit; will not work with secured debts or tax debts or court-ordered debts. 3) You can still be sued on the credit accounts you put on this program. 4) They can't do anything that you can't legally do. 5) They pay themselves before they pay your creditors. 6) They claim that they can stop creditor harassment but in my case they never sent out the cease and desist letters, as I was continued to be contacted after paying my first month's fees. 7) If you quit the program, you don't get back any of the money that was paid into the separate bank account; they keep it. I tried to get my money back after one month and they didn't give me back a dime. Save your money! read more

I rarely write reviews, but I couldn't pass this opportunity up. After my divorce I was left with a large amount of credit card debt to pay off, part of which was the cost of my divorce. I was overwhelmed with trying to constantly move it around to new cards to keep the interest rates at 0% (or low), and I wasn't making any progress on paying it down. Richard Hua is a horrible man, him and his team will ruin your credit. They will leave you hanging if you get sued and will steal your money. He said all the right things, and I got scammed. Do not trust this institution, both my wife and I ruined our credit. He maxes out your credit card, and pays himself with it. Then he tell you to ignore the banks and let the account go to default, your credit gets ruined and after they give you a pay out you pay the bank and close the account, BUT whatever you get "forgiven" comes back as a 1099 and you will have to pay tax on it. I messed up, I trusted them in 2017, today 2023 I'm still paying off a settlement for Santa Clara County Federal. They took me to court and had to pay for what I initially owed them plus court fees, lawyer fees and interests. It went from a 25k personal loan debt to a 32k debt! I would of paid it off already if I hadn't trusted them. My life was full of stress, anger and regret All because of Richard and his team. It took me years to get my credit back to a good standing. Dont meet with him, don't give him your cards, do NOT sign his contract! This is a scam. Don't do it, just deal with your debt on your own. At least if you file for bankruptcy you won't feel stupid after paying this guy. He took at least 8k from me. One day i'll be in the position to sue this guy! I was just worried how long does it take to finish all the settlements, they dont really give desired length of time. I still have 3 more accounts to be settled, the reason why im giving it two stars its because I dont really get the reason why its taking so long.
