Nice store with a great selection! You can pretty much find anything here. If you don't see anything once you've explored the store they have an upstairs filled with an entire different vibe. I am in my 70s and look forward to visiting the Fisherman's Daughter each time we vacation on the Outer Banks. There is something for every lady and fun things too. In the area we stay, there are not a lot of shopping opportunities except for tourist-y stores. Since I'm over all that beachy stuff, the Fisherman's Daughter offers a change of pace and some younger styles. I love it and have never encountered rude sales people. I always chat them up anyway!! They require Patons to wear masks but I guess that does not apply to employees. It did look like a cute place but didn't get to see much of it because the women behind the counter wasn't wearing her mask and after being asked if she could please put one on. She said no we have plastic divider up. The divider really did not cover enough. It was really disappointing because we wanted to get GIFTS for family it give when we got home. read more

I've been to Hatteras Island 3 years in a row and every year I go to the Fisherman's Daughter. There aren't a lot of women shopping areas on Hatteras Island but I think Fisherman's Daughter has a decent selection. They have Vera Bradley, Brighton, and some Pandora jewelry. On my recent trip there I got brighton earrings, some nail polish, natural life brand art , magnets and a natural life wristlet They just have a wide variety of items: Jewelry, Clothing, Home Decor, Accessories, and Christmas decoration They have dresses and clothes that can cater to 20-40 year olds, friendly staff, so I think it's worth a peak. read more

I recently went to this Fisherman's daughter store in Avon and was very turned off by the staff member working! As soon as we walked in I heard her loudly complaining to another woman who I believe was a local about tourists...which is of course what me and my family are and pretty much everyone in OBX. After walking around for a bit we were getting ready to leave and a family of four or so with two small children walked in and accidentally went through a door that was not the main door and the staff member yelled at them saying "Um, hello! Don't you realize this is not a main entrance?!", which they obviously did not. I thought this was very rude, unnecessary and made us feel uncomfortable. We did not purchase anything here and I would not want to spend my money here with their rude staff member. Giving it one star because their collection of items, as other have said is good if you can get over the totally unfriendly staff. read more

I was in the store today for the first time and was quite glad to see a women's store that was not only full of merchandise but not entirely for the 20--something age customer. They had plenty of beach wear and quite an allotment of choices and sizes in casual beach wear. What disturbed me, was the somewhat rude salesperson at the counter. She stayed behind the counter the entire 30 minutes or so I was in the store and never asked if she could help me. I was not going to let this deter me and continued on my shopping venture, selecting two pieces of merchandise to purchase. I would think that tourist season in the summer would be their busiest time and she acted like I was a bother to wait on. Also, when I walked in the store it was clear she was on some sort of personal business call that lasted a good 15 minutes while I looked around. She was rather loud and I heard every word she was saying to the person on the other end of the phone. I would go back simply because there are not a lot of nice clothing stores on the island and like another writer said, I'm tired of the souvenir shops and T-shirt factories. If I see another Wings, I think I will cry. Glad the store is here even if the salespeople need a lesson or two on customer service. read more

The customer service in this store is exceptional. There are so many unique treasures that can be found at this quaint shop. I'm always so excited to shop there because each time I go in there is new merchandise to choose from. Best place in town to find that special gift for someone special. We come to this store every year when we vacation here. We visited this store this evening and from this experience will NEVER return. The lady working was beyond rude and could easily turn off any customer. She acted as if it was an inconvenience to help us with their Pandora beads. While there, we learned a little about her personal life that she openly discussed with another worker. We learned she got "cut off at the bar " followed by being "kicked out of a bar" because she was "drunk", her "boyfriend kicked her out", and that she "hadn't smoked a cigarette all day." I told the other lady working that she was rude, abrasive, and inappropriate. While also in the store she used the "N" word. I'm not sure who the owner is but this employee should be fired on the spot. If I could have given this a negative star I would have! read more

Last week, my boyfriend and I stopped into the Fisherman's Daughter. We were greeted by one very nice woman. We shopped throughout the store and had three outfits to purchase. My main goal was to look at the Pandora charms they had advertised outside on their shop. I asked at the counter where the charms were and the salesclerk ( not doing anything but slouching over a chair ), grunts and points 'they are right there' and continues to slouch and not even budge to help me. I couldn't believe how much of a bother I was for shopping there. I thought that was the idea of a store. Needless to say, I walked away from her and proceeded to put my outfits that I planned on buying back. We walked out the door and we will never return. read more
