This was my first time going to a wall climbing gym. My son really loves it, so my daughter and I…read moretried it out. When you arrive, you are asked to sign a waiver and they walk you through the payment/membership options. Next, you get your cimb shoes and then they do a tour of the facility. Once that is finished, it's time for your wall climbing training. Sean was our trainer and he was very knowledgeable about climbing and the proper way to fall. He assisted us often and encouraged us to try different walls. My daughter and I completed 3 climbs, which we were very proud of ourselves for the first time. Our hands are sore, but we had a great time and this was a great workout.

There's literally no excuse for me to come get stronger and work on sending which I usually was too lazy to come thru in the past before this location popped up. There's even a fitness area upstairs but its limited to members only. I really dig the Blocworks aesthetic since the colors of the holds look balanced imo and are generally standardized grade-wise across both this gym and the OG Edmond location. The parking situation isn't really intuitive though, and you're supposed to park in the adjacent lot to the side of the building, and not directly across the gym front, though I had friends who parked there w/o issue too, though I'm not gonna risk it. There's ample paved parking as well as a dirt lot that's right in front of an apartment complex. If you're just getting started at this gym, or climbing in general, there's a steal of a 2-week offer at like $35? where you can climb an unlimited amount of days even with included shoe rental. So take advantage of this, I wish I did last year, oh well. They offer a lot of deals throughout the year too, so if you're unsure of the annual pricing, you can watch out for those discounts. So hype this sweet addition is adding to the OKC climbing community~

In passing the other day, a friend mentioned she was thinking of trying this, and we decided to check it out together. Well, I just wish I had done this sooner. A $59 application fee plus $35/month gets you a single membership. While I was most excited about the junior Olympic size outdoor saltwater pool, they have three indoor and two outdoor tennis courts, three full-sized maple basketball courts, new cardio and weight equipment, saunas and more. My only beef: the whole point of this is to swim laps. They have the pool divided between the deep end and shallow end, so you have to account for the rope when doing laps. I'd love one lane for serious swimming only. Also, if you're used to the Downtown Y (like I am) the locker room, shower, bathrooms, etc leave a little bit to be desired, but it makes up for it with the outdoor pool. I'm really excited to have this new option in my workout regimen and pleased to have a place to be in the water (and sunshine) the rest of the summer.

Usually they are closed on Mondays to clean it, but being a Tuesday- it didn't seem they cleaned it at all. also a huge group came in to take over the pool for swim classes or something , so we had to get out and no one at check in said a word about it. we love this pool and will continue to come but Hope it's cleaned regularly and we are notified at check-in about group coming in to take over.

There are at least two unhoused people who use this gym for their toilet and shower needs, so often (especially early mornings) you'll come in and two of the three bathrooms will be occupied for quite some time. It's really not fair to the rest of us who are actually there to work out. Neither of the guys is overly threatening, but it is unsettling to have people come in in street clothes, usually carrying multiple bags, just wandering around or sitting in the lobby and then leaving without even exercising. Especially considering there are no lockers--only cubbies. One of the unhoused people drives a pickup full of garbage (sometimes with a travel trailer attached--which appears to be what he lives in), and will bring bags of the garbage in and out with him for no reason. He behaves extremely bizarrely, strikes up uncomfortable conversations with people who are just there to work out, walks around making strange martial arts like moves, and sometimes just hovers at the doors waiting to chat people up as they come in. I feel bad for the guy. I really do. But his behavior is unsettling, and he comes in and out multiple times per day. It makes people feel unsafe, and the owner has been notified multiple times with nothing done about it. I get that technically the guy is a paying member with a fob, but he can't be allowed to just come in and out, behaving bizarrely, and bothering people.
