Being postpartum, I wanted something more than a regular gym that would help motivate me physically…read moreand mentally. I was a little hesitant to sign up at Equinox but I'm so happy I did. I've been a member for about 3 months and it's been such an incredible experience so far. Sivan was super helpful and helped me sign up. Her and along with everyone else I've encountered with have been nothing but wonderful. I did my assessment and complimentary personal training session with Jenn. She has such an extensive knowledge about wellness especially when it comes to women's health. She gave me some pointers about rebuilding my pelvic floor strength and put together a plan for me. I've also attended a few mat pilates and spin classes, which were great. Last month, I had a facial in their spa which was relaxing and exactly what I needed after not having a facial for almost a year. On a few occasions, I've brought my son with me and had him stay in the Kids Club. Emme and the others are so sweet and welcoming. Overall my experience at Equinox Woodland Hills has been really wonderful - from the welcoming staff, clean facility, variety of classes, to the positive vibes. Now as a working mom, I don't have as much time to go as often but I'm hoping to keep up with my work out routine.

I am writing this review to recognize an employee who exemplifies outstanding customer service…read morewhile also bringing attention to a very disappointing experience with the store manager at the Equinox Shop in Woodland Hills, CA. Elena who works at the Shop Woodland Hills in CA location deserves the highest recognition for her exceptional professionalism, dedication, and customer service. I am traveling to Europe and urgently needed a specific crossbody bag before my departure. Although the Woodland Hills location did not have the item in stock, Elena took full ownership of the situation. She searched the inventory, contacted multiple Equinox locations, located the exact bag at the Palisades location, arranged for it to be shipped, and confirmed the shipment. Most importantly, she proactively kept me informed throughout the process, providing updates and reassurance that my bag would arrive before my trip this week. Her communication, attention to detail, and commitment to customer satisfaction were truly exceptional. Employees like Elena are invaluable and deserve to be recognized and rewarded for representing Equinox with excellence. Unfortunately, my experience took a complete turn once Marissa, the store manager at Woodland Hills in CA location became involved. I called the club at 9:00 a.m. and was informed that the shop was closed. The receptionist assured me that a message would be given to the manager and that I would receive a return call around 4:00 p.m. No one called. I called again and spoke with Marissa. During our conversation, she placed me on hold without informing me. The call was disconnected. When I called back, I respectfully asked that she not place me on hold again and instead return my call after locating my order. She agreed, but I never received the promised callback. I called once more and explained to the receptionist that I was leaving the country and urgently needed to know whether the bag--which I had already paid for in full--had arrived. Despite the urgency, I was told Marissa was busy and my call would not be transferred. Ironically, the only person willing to help was Elena, who was not even working today. She immediately responded to my text message, apologized for not being at work, personally tracked my order, and confirmed that my bag had arrived and was ready for pickup. When I went to the store to collect my purchase, I asked to speak with Marissa. Once again, I was told she was too busy and could not be interrupted. Even after I picked up my bag the incompetent store manager never called be back to follow up nor apologized for the in convenience. This experience reflects a serious lack of accountability, communication, and leadership. A store manager should set the standard for customer service, not create unnecessary frustration for customers who have already paid for their purchases and simply need basic information. The difference between Elena and Marissa could not have been more apparent. Elena consistently demonstrated professionalism, accountability, empathy, and exceptional customer care. Marissa failed to communicate, failed to follow through on her commitments, and was unavailable when a customer requested assistance. Equinox should be proud to have employees like Elena. She deserves formal recognition for her outstanding work ethic and commitment to customer satisfaction. At the same time, I strongly encourage Equinox to address the customer service deficiencies demonstrated by its management team to ensure that customers receive the level of service expected from a premium brand.

I have been a member of 24 hr. Fitness for over 20 years. I have gone to many locations throughout…read morethe greater Los Angeles area and there's one thing they all have in common, including many other gyms in the same price point, which is they're all a little filthy. Some of this can be controlled by the staff, with deeper and more frequent machine wiping and dusting, but overall it's also the members. I've witnessed members throwing around their trash or being rough with the equipment. Members leave trash in the bathrooms and also mess with the steam rooms and leave bottles of water around. There's only so much a facility can maintain with heavy traffic and turnover, including members who don't respect a facility. The staff is always friendly and I have had incredible health results since I began training with Eugene a year ago. For the first time in 10 years my cholesterol is in the normal range (I don't take any meds and it was always a tick into high) and I'm seeing better muscle definition and tone; vs when I worked out on my own. If you're looking for a great value and access to fun classes, join 24 hour fitness. The Topanga village offers plenty of parking which is free with validation for 2.5 hours with your gym. To the gym, I would recommend better attention to dusting (inches of thick dust), more free weights that are lower than 10 lbs for members to have access to, throw away damaged mats and foam rollers, repair broken machines and lower those blinds in the afternoon so the bike and treadmill runners aren't blinded and overheating by the sunsetting.

This gym has potential, but they don't have any weights below 10 lbs and if you want to use the 10…read morelbs, you have to use these round ones. I feel like this makes the gym inaccessible to so many people. Isn't that your main clientele? People wanting to get fit again or for the first time ? How can they build their strength when the next weight up is now a 20 lbs jump ?? They need to do something about this.

After reading some of the negative reviews, I have to chime in. Hearing a response from the owner…read moreis one thing, but hearing it from a customer is another. And I would like to address some of the things said. I have been a member of Flex for about a year and a half now. In my opinion, it's the best in the valley. I tried 24 hr fitness - multiple women in the locker room had their lockers broken into, wallets and keys stolen. A member told me the bathroom upstairs and locker room are always "gross" (and they were). The gym floor was also gross, and nothing was ever put back in place I had a membership at LA Fitness. It was alright. Not the cleanest, nothing was ever put back, and the equipment isn't the best First off, the only reason I'm giving 4 and not 5 stars, is the hours of operation. I wish they were open later every day, and earlier on Sundays. Why I love Flex: 1. The machines. Someone said the machines are old, which is WILD, because they're not... they actually have a ton of new machines (some as new as this year). And they have machines you will not find at most gym. Examples: reverse hyper, bootybuilder hip thrust machine, belt squat machine, pendulum squat, 3 different hack squat machines, seated straight leg calf machine, arsenal strength shoulder machines, power racks, deadlift jack, prowler/sled, tires, heavy bags, and cable attachments such as MAG grip cable attachments... It's the cleanest gym in the valley that I've been to. I had a membership to ZOO Culture before they moved, have been a member at La fitness, and tried a guest pass to 24 (two separate times... the second because they said things improved and to give them another chance)... anyway, Flex has cleaning staff working all the time. And people walking around re-racking weights (although most members are good about doing it themselves). One person said the gym is disgusting and they're afraid to step foot in the shower or steam room... which is just silly. I've showered there numerous times. It's clean. Just bring your own stuff (body wash, shampoo, etc).. and there is no steam room lol there is a sauna. And the sauna is always clean Someone said equipment stays broken for weeks and I have no idea what they're talking about. I train 4-5X/week and don't even know what equipment they're talking about being broken. I think they wrote a comment for the wrong gym, honestly, because nothing they said makes sense. I saw a complaint about the trainer with the orange truck... he's intense, but if you actually talk to him, he's very nice. And always willing to let you work in, if he's using a machine you want to use. If he "takes" a machine you were using, just talk to him. It's possible he didn't know, and it wasn't purposeful I've also seen complaints about the owners, and I've had 0 issues with either of them. Quite the opposite. They're always friendly and pleasant

He's one of the finest individuals I've ever had the privilege to call a friend. Beyond that, he is a fantastic trainer. His intelligence, passion and care are steeped into the Legion. He's been working on this concept for years and it shows. The equipment has been carefully selected to create a fully rounded workout experience that is specific yet malleable. The classes are fun and challenging. The group classes are capped so they never feel crowded and there is always personal attention. The class atmosphere is supportive and enervating. The rest of the teachers are wonderful as well. Gabe, the Eli's, Melissa, they're all great. You can push yourself, but the trainers will always make sure to keep your form right and make sure you never over do it. The space is awesome. I love working out on the terrace. Inside, there are amazing pneumatic machines that are like nothing I've ever used before. Do yourself a favor, try a class. The first one's free. Your body will thank you. Maybe not the morning after, but if you keep at it, you'll notice a big difference quickly.
