In the two months I have been working with them I hit a new PR as a runner (21:56 5k) because of Tracey's amazing guidance. She encouraged me to stop timing myself and and helped me change my focus to sprinting intuitively for 10-15 minute intervals (yes, that means without music!) and that increased my base running speed by 1 minute in the matter of a month! . Not only has my running gotten stronger but I am also into lifting, sculpting my body, nutrition and losing bf%. Ever since I was a kid, I have struggled with maintaining a healthy lifestyle regarding eating in general as well as maintaining a consistent work-out schedule. About 10 years ago, I worked with a trainer for about a year. In that time, I had built up my endurance and strength and had lost about 30 pounds! I felt good. I felt great! So great, that the following summer, I enrolled in a local boot camp, thinking I was ready. Unfortunately, I ended up injuring myself (from running on pavement). I had to drop out of the program. I stopped altogether...and quickly put on a ton of weight. Roughly four years ago, I entered my gym and set up a membership...and never set foot in the gym again until just a few months ago. Aside from the tremendous waste of money, I was grossly obese, and I could not even take out the trash without feeling wiped out. My family began to worry more than ever. Words like "diabetes," "high blood pressure," and "heart attack" were common controversial topics that made me angry and uncomfortable. Yet, I knew 'THEY' were right...it was time for a real and lasting change. I called my gym AGAIN and 'came clean.' I told them I was a 'way-out-of-shape' 52 year-old who needed a knowledgeable trainer who could handle someone like me, who would take into account my past injuries, and who would hold me accountable to my goals. He said, "I know just the trainer you need." That trainer turned out to be Rudi as well as his trusty partner, Tracey. When I initially met with Rudi, he made sure to listen to all my concerns as well as to establish what my BMI was, among other things. Before we began, he wanted me to see my doctor and ensure I was ready for training. I really appreciated his understanding and concern about my welfare. He assured me that he had years of experience in successfully helping people just like me. Following the doctor's approval, I found that I weighed 411 lbs. and that my blood pressure was "a bit high." Within two weeks of working out with Rudi, my blood pressure had dropped back to normal levels! Rudi made a point of showing me how to properly use most of the machines in the gym. He also had me focusing on my exertion levels in relation to my actual heart rate. In this way, I knew when I was "maxed out" on a machine or exercise (getting the maximum benefit). Rudi taught me how to be more in tune with my overall progress. As time went on, I was working with both Rudi and Tracey twice a week. They were both great! Both were very diligent and knowledgeable about my sessions, keeping track of all my progress electronically. Each session found my endurance, strength and recovery time building. I could do mundane things again, like house chores, without collapsing every five seconds. After a couple of months of working with Rudi and Tracey on a regular basis, I found that my weight had dropped 21 lbs!!! Fat was becoming muscle, my energy and endurance had dramatically improved, and we really began to monitor my food intake. When I first started, my heart-beat-at-rest was around 136 per minute. At 144 bpm, I would be gasping for air. After just a couple of months of working with Rudi, though, my heart-beat-at- rest was and is down to a very impressive 96 bpm. Rudi and Tracey have literally changed my life for the better! I have no reservations, whatsoever, in recommending their exceptional training regimen to others, especially those who require extra care to meet their goals. But Tracey & Rudi worked with me at just the right level - not so hard that it dissuaded me or was a problem for my injury, but not so easy that it wasn't challenging/interesting or I didn't make progress. It's very difficult for me to try to write something about me. I've been struggling with my weight all my life. I've been through many weight loss programs, but I always failed. When I started working with Rudi, I was depressed, unmotivated, and the heaviest I had ever been in my life weighing almost 230 pounds. Having just gone through a recent separation, I didn't have any confidence in myself and was completely lost.
