Outstanding experience. This is where you need to invest in yourself for a massage: a small business with passionate professionals, in a quiet location in McLean. It is in the McLean Professional Center all the way on the right with the purple door. Just keep turning right and you'll get there. Lots of parking. (Even the parking lot is Zen.) Adorable waiting area with calming colors, tea/coffee/water, and a foot massager. The rooms are travel themed and I had Asia! (Mini-vacation) I had Marcus as my therapist. He is FABULOUS. I had a sports massage and he worked on upper shoulders and TMJ pain. My friend had a Swedish massage and he worked on an injury/lower back pain. We both feel better today! Best Sports Massage Business!!! I have had many different types of massage (Deep Tissue, Sports, DeepFeet Ashiatsu and Thai Yoga) from the owner, Robin, and she is phenomenal!!! She runs an incredibly professional business and has wonderful people working for her. She only hires the best of the best for her cliental. Yes, THIS is what a sports massage is supposed to be like! I'm a competitive age-group runner and cyclist, and since moving back to NoVA a year or two ago, I had been looking for someplace to turn for the occasional massage to "get the kinks out" and aid recovery. Tired of getting one too many "sports massages" that are actually just Swedish with a little extra pressure, I decided to book an appointment with Tonya at Fit Pro. I had a wonderful experience and will definitely go back. She's strong and intuitive, her technique is excellent, and she demonstrates a true knowledge of anatomy. She loosened up my trouble spots, and I went home feeling taller (!) and completely loose and relaxed. I slept like a baby that night, which is pretty rare for me. Fit Pro has a cozy office, their on-line scheduling is a breeze, and pricing is competitive. I could walk to two different massage chains from my home in Vienna, but I will now choose to drive a couple extra miles to Fit Pro Massage in McLean. read more

I have been going here for years and can highly recommend them. I go for sports and deep tissue massages, for situations such as when I tweak something lifting weights or have wear and tear type discomfort from heavy training (usually working out 4-6x per week). I've had 5 different therapists and I have found them all to be very good, very knowledgeable about anatomy and massage techniques and also able to provide a good amount of pressure, and also sensitive to discomfort and able to work around injuries. These are not necessarily relaxation/soothing massages like you might get at the spa or on vacation (although they do offer these kinds of massages, I have just never had one) but a truly therapeutic massage which helps to work out the kinks and restore circulation and mobility to an area to promote recovery and healing. The space is kind of no-frills, but still very comfortable. I've always found the therapists to be both friendly and professional and have really enjoyed every trip there. My wife and I often buy each other Fit Pro gift certs for birthdays and special occasions. read more

I should have written this review years ago, as I think I've seen about 7 different massage therapists at Fit Pro Massage--particularly post-triathlon race--over the past 10 years, and have yet to have a bad experience. As another reviewer said, THIS is what a sports massage should be like. Brianna was my most recent sports massage, and you can't get any better than her! It isn't a mere rub-down (though I'm sure they do Swedish, too), it's deep-tissue that helps loosen up all the tightness that comes with being an endurance athlete. I started going to Karl for massages before he worked at Fit Pro, and I followed him to Fit Pro. Thank goodness I did! Karl is a wonderful massage therapist, especially in deep tissue and injury recovery massages. He's accommodating when you're running late (as I unfortunately often am), he really listens to what you want, and he's super friendly. Because of my schedule, I alternate between seeing him and Sarah, who is equally fantastic at deep tissue massages. She has a very down-to-earth way of working with you, and she uses a lot of pressure in deep tissue massages without making you feel extremely sore the next day. I have vicious knots and trigger points in my neck and shoulders and get a lot of association pain from them, so any massage therapist who works with me has to be pretty gentle (yet work through the steel cables that are my shoulders) for me to not feel sick during a massage, and both Sarah and Karl are experts at doing this. I would and have recommended them to everyone I know - they are that good. (And while their prices are a bit more expensive than those at Massage Envy, I used to have a membership at Massage Envy and have found that my money is infinitely better spent at Fit Pro. I always leave satisfied and I trust my therapists, whereas at Massage Envy I was often scheduled with brand new therapists who gave massages that were either too soft or crippingly painful. You get what you pay for at Massage Envy - and same goes for Fit Pro!) read more

I have been seeing Marcus at FitPro twice a month for a year. If he were working for a carpet cleaning company, he would bring a toothbrush with him to your house and scrub your rug in 1 x 1-square inch sections. That is how meticulous he is. I am a competitive athlete. So I always have body parts that need work. When I give Marcus areas to work on, I can feel him separating tendons and muscles, probing for soreness and then easing the trigger points. I like deep tissue. Marcus works deep, but soft. No elbows. Just strong hands and fingers. Easy to talk to, but not talky. Very knowledgeable about anatomy. Last session he said the problem with my right hip was my tensor fasciae latae. Who knew. I have also used Alex at FitPro. I had never had a satisfactory deep tissue massage by a woman until I got a massage from Alex. I do prefer guy therapists for reasons of strength. That said, Alex is excellent, not afraid to dig deep, and very able to do so, but smoothly. I recommended her to my daughter who just had her first child. read more
