I couldn't have had a better experience with the folks at FIT! I was actually referred to this company by a friend as they are a local start-up company that they swore by and refused to go elsewhere. They couldn't have been more right. When I first called them I had a pleasant easy-going conversation and was able to get them scheduled within the week. How this company has so many good reviews is beyond me. Seth doesn't know up from down. There are so many things wrong in the inspection he did for us that it's embarrassing. To name a few: He said there was not any visible means of draining in a planter where there is clearly visible drainage and had just rained and didn't have any sign of water pooling. He said the new grounding rod did not "appear" to be driven into the ground enough, when it is. It was also done by a reputable company and inspected by the city and passed. He said the doorbell did not work when tested, even though it was clearly heard by everyone present. He said air vents were blocked or restricting airflow and they definitely are not. We've had an air balance company check all of that. He doesn't like that a HEPA washable filter is used and recommended a disposable filter. There are so many other little things that were just completely overlooked... but the kicker to all of this to really put the cherry on top of this guy not knowing up from down is that he put, in the report: "THIS PROPERTY HAS NO GARAGE"... I repeat, no garage! He referred to the garage numerous times and the garage is a three car garage! It's just really sad that people would read his reports and actually take them at face value. Definitely disappointed in his service. read more

Approximately eighteen months ago, I gave a glowing review of the work that Seth did for me on a property that I was going to buy. He found a problem with the chimney. I followed up with an expert in the field that discovered a major structural defect. I cancelled the escrow. I was pleased with the detail that Seth provided and the speed upon which I received the report. It was received within two hours of the inspection. I recently found another house that I want to purchase and called Seth because I trusted his last inspection. This time he failed miserably. The inspection was done on Thursday afternoon. He advised there were concerns about the roof and the foundation. He suggested I do follow-up and gave me several people to contact. I handed him a check for his service and he told me that I would have the report that evening or Friday morning. I received nothing. I called his office Friday morning and was told a text would be sent to him. I called again later in the day and another text was sent out. I was trying to set up foundation specialists who could review the report, but I had no report to send to anyone. Their inspections fees are very high if they go to the property themselves. Seth finally called about 5:30 on Friday afternoon and said he never sends reports out before twenty-four hours and that he was going to work on my report Friday night and send it to me. That statement contradicted what he said on Thursday about report availability. Nothing was received Friday night. Sunday, I received an email that wouldn't allow me to access the report because it demanded payment. I had already paid him. I sent him a text and asked him to update my status so I could have access. I received no response. Monday morning I called his office. Staff in the office sent him a text asking about the report. I was told there was no report for the property in the system. I went back to the email I received on Sunday and the report was no longer available at all. Shortly thereafter, my agent called Seth and was told it was being sent as they spoke. Nothing was received. I called the office a second time on Monday. The office personnel called him and Seth said there was a problem locating the report. She got back on the phone with me, reported what he said, and then told me she walked him through the problem and I should receive the report in five minutes. He sent a text to my agent saying he was sending the report. Nothing was received. Two hours later I called the office again. The staff apologized and sent another text to Seth. My agent received a video whereupon Seth is allegedly demonstrating he is sending the report. Nothing was received. An hour later, my agent called him back. Seth blamed his office staff and said he was in the middle of inspection and could do nothing. It is his business. He is ultimately responsible for anything that goes on in his business. The staff explained to me that they cannot access anything until he uploads it into the system. They had nothing except a notation that I paid him. I sent a final text asking him to respond immediately. He did not respond. His lack of professionalism and his lack of courtesy compel me to write a review. Normally, if I have nothing nice to say, I won't say anything; however, I find it necessary to post this advisory. The clock is running for me to do my due diligence. I have lost four days waiting for his report. I put my faith in someone I thought was a professional. However, his failure to complete the work with a written report has put me in a difficult position. His lack of response is indicative of his unwillingness to take responsibility for his failure to provide the work as promised. Passing the buck onto his office staff is shameful. I am now working with my agent to find another inspector before the clock runs out on my due diligence. I cannot in good faith recommend Seth or Fit Property to anyone and I withdraw my past favorable recommendation of his work. read more
