I'm sure most people do not memorize and track their credit card expiration dates. A heads up BEFORE the card expires might be a better way for the club to handle it, rather than charging the fee after the fact. It's a good way for the club to make some extra money though; think about how many members have a card on file to pay and how many expire each year. They make $25 on each one. The people at the club desk just tell you to call the support center, which is really just a third party which manages the payments; they have no authority to waive fees. Not only does it hold true to the name 'beginner' class (others I tried were false advertising) but the whole class itself was exactly what I wanted, and my body needed. The owner Heidi is phenomenal and so patient with everyone who attends- she has a true teachers heart and the talent of a professional athlete / dancer. Taking a fitness class from anyone can be made or broken by the leadership and you won't be disappointed by the experience here. I started training with Sean, Ken and Cat and felt results after only one week. After a month or two the weight was coming off and all i did was attend classes and make some minor changes to my diet. After 6 months I was down 40 lbs and felt in the best shape of my life and again I only changed a few things in my diet. At the age of 50 i was able to achieve my life long dream of climbing Mt Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa! I had given up on this dream and only when i became an Orca member did I find the new lease on life and saw the possibility of fulfilling this dream. Everybody is welcome; you don't have to be skinny and dressed in Lululemon to feel comfortable here. Roberta's Hot 26 classes are challenging but very supportive; I adore her, and I'm completely addicted. MaryRose will make every muscle in your body burn, and you'll feel like a superhero when you survive her class. Tara is the velvet hammer, and Marilyn does a great job of explaining the poses. (I'd recommend Marilyn's class if you're new to hot yoga, although she also challenges experienced yogis.) Mary plays the best music; if you want to jam out during your asana practice, go to her Friday night class. I honestly couldn't love this place more. I have nothing negative to say. Show up early to get a parking spot, because classes are often packed, for good reason.

This is a smaller, outdated gym.... But, it's usually pretty low key up in there, which makes using…read morethe squat rack a breeze. See, if you go to crunch, or golds, there's a thick meat fest going on, and the fellas like to hold down the squat rack for hours at a time. So, you have to work around your squats, which can ruin your flow. At Taconic, however, maybe 4 people actually do squats, so it's never a problem. Walk in, and B line it right to the squat rack. Sweet! It costs $44 a month, which is almost twice what most places charge, but you get that private feel for the extra cost. Well, it only costs me $25 a month via health ways program for being a Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance carrier. ($25 gets me in all the gyms BOOM) People apparently wait to take the worst smelling dumps ever recorded in human history at this place. I feel bad for the employees who work at the desk which is connected to the men's locker room door. Cardio equipment, free weights, cable machines, and various push, pull, ab and leg machines. A nice sized room for classes, stretching, sleeping, farting, staring at yourself in the mirrors, snorting pre workout, having a sneaky dart, etc. Staff is super friendly, although small, tiny, and weak af. Dan, Dom, and Paul are probably the weakest people you'll ever meet in your life. Don't let that fool you, it has nothing to do with the weights! The weights are perfectly fine, they weigh exactly what it says on them. Mostly, it has to do with them being extremely loose, flapping vagina holes. Seriously, go there. Support the place. It's nice to be able to lift without being surrounded by dozens of stacked ass body builders deflating your sense or accomplishment, because your a scrawny twig with horrible form and no rhyme or reason.

The space is so beautiful and the people are so incredibly welcoming, students of all ages, bodies, and backgrounds come there and everyone is welcome! There is no judgement from anyone there, so even as a beginner I always felt safe. The space is always clean and the skylights in the studio space are so unique and beautiful! I've taken classes with a few teachers and they've all been great, but my personal favorite is Andrea so I will speak more so about her classes. I take Andrea's morning classes on Tuesdays and Fridays and I always have the BEST time! She is so knowledgeable and such a talented teacher, you can tell she really loves the practice of yoga. Andrea is thorough, patient, kind, and makes class both challenging and super fun! No matter if you're a beginner or more advanced, she is the teacher for you. She knows how to make adjustments and modifications for every pose based on your skill level, so everyone can thrive even if there's many different student levels in the same class. She's so uplifting and encouraging to everyone, it's definitely always the type of class that you always leave feeling great about. 10/10 I recommend grassroots. I'm moving away soon and I will miss it dearly. Best spot in the Hudson valley for yoga and wellness!
