I've always had GOOD service at this location. I remember years ago when I wanted fitness gliders which took a while to stock, they hand delivered them to me as a good gesture because there was quite a delay getting them in. I love having Fitness Depot in my neighbourhood. When you walk in, it can feel a bit overwhelming with all the boxes and packaging around, but don't be shy -- just ask the staff for help. They're incredibly knowledgeable and more than willing to assist. The usual gentleman at the counter has a quirky sense of humour, but it grows on you. He's always very helpful when answering questions. Fitness Depot's prices are typically better than Amazon's, and it's great to be able to see and feel the equipment before making a purchase. Many years ago, I bought kettlebells here, which was fantastic because I could find the right weight for my fitness level. Over time, I've picked up a variety of other items, including foam rollers, dumbbells, exercise bands, massage balls, wrist wraps, foam pads, etc. Today, I stopped by for another massage ball, and as always, it's a solid store. I'm at fitness depot in Thornhill. It is so good that there is a local place where I can just drive to for fitness stuff. Life is so much better when you don't have to rely on Amazon. This is totally a step up. There is real equipment and real people. Great prices, horrible service. They asked for our address and we told them we'd prefer not to provide, even if it meant not having warranty. Then he was sarcastic the whole time, and when we asked how we would get our weight tree (our purchase) he sarcastically requested someone get a "tree" from the warehouse over the PA, to the laughter of his other buddy .Seriously, no need to be an ass. This location is just off Yonge. It's more of a warehouse than a store. I looked at a few items on their website but when I went to pick them up, the staff were totally useless. They were too busy unpacking boxes. Once I changed my mind on buying some heavy duty mats for my home gym (totaling $150 for a very small area), the employee gave me a lot of attitude. Their equipment is far better in quality than what you'd find elsewhere (e.g. Walmart) and so do expect to pay considerably more. My suggestion is to try their other locations for better advice and choices. read more

The staff in the showroom were knowledgeable, listened to our needs, and dealt with us professionally through the whole transaction. We recommend dealing with Mark. The equipment delivery and set-up also went incredibly smoothly! A post-purchase question was not dealt with to our satisfaction, however, the communication from the staff was courteous and responsive. On that point, we suggest that any buyer carefully identifies how he or she intends to make a purchase before signing on the dotted line. There seems to be a zero changes policy in place. read more

Went a couple days ago - Dealt with a young kid who clearly has no experience in customer service. Rude and condescending. There was nothing that stated we needed to make an appointment (which is fine) but when we got there and asked for one item, he seemed annoyed and irritated that we were there. If he had politely said that he could help us out after the one other customer that was waiting and just said that for next time to make sure we call ahead, I wouldn't of minded at all. Instead he acted as though they had a line up of cars waiting and he couldn't be bothered with us. I have no problem spending my money elsewhere but just keep in mind, without us paying customers, you wouldn't have business and you wouldn't have a pay cheque. read more

4 stars because although their website is not accurate for stock if you know what you want (has to be exactly what you want) they recommended things close within the same price range, and got to do same day pick up was fast and efficient. If you do your research before and call ahead (on the day of to place order or appointment) you should be fine! Good prices. read more

This place, by far, had the worst customer service that I have experienced in my entire life. Two store clerks were so inefficient at working with customers, and they were too busy talking with each other or another 'usual' customer. When I changed my mind on buying a soft mat to use in my room, and wanted to know about warranty and return policy, one of the older employee gave me a lot of attitude. But I guess that is common for this location reading other reviews here. Moreover, when I reached another location, the product was wrapped properly, unlike the one that I saw in this location. Went there the other day looking to buy some equipment. They offer a lot of great equipment at a reasonable price, but the customer service there is horrible. The employees are rude and useless. I would only recommend this place if you know what your looking for and didn't need any assistance from the employees. I walked into the store and it was completely empty and I was ignored for about 10 minutes until I walked up to the counter. The guy behind the counter came off so arrogant and rude basically telling me to go to the website anytime I asked how much something cost. Not sure what the point of the store is if they don't have any interest in providing any sort of customer service. Anytime I asked him a question he acted as if it was such a huge hassle to answer or as if I was supposed to know the answer to my own questions! I hope the owner of the store is reading this and understands that simply because of the way I was treated by his employee I decided to spend my $4000 somewhere else! Unwelcoming service. No returns or exchange and you're advised after you paid. It was my first visit and definitely the last.

The staff at this store is generally unhelpful and not knowledgeable about some of the basic fitness equipment that they sell.

When you walk in the staff pretty much treat you like you're invisible. They don't make eye contact or even acknowledge your existence. When I approached the guys at the counter, they were very unapproachable and borderline rude. The funny thing is, once you start talking to them about power lifting equipment and working out they start to warm up and their attitude changes. I get the feeling they are power lifting enthusiasts but feel like they are above the average customer looking for cardio or general fitness equipment. They were much nicer to me after they realized I had power racks and barbells. Using proper terminology for equipment and exercises was also key, otherwise they'll treat you like you're an idiot. Not the best customer service I've had, especially since it's not a very high end professional store. I would say, if you're not into fitness and you're a general user, look elsewhere. Otherwise, know exactly what you want and do your research beforehand. The staff is there only to bring you your parts and accept your money. Prices are very good, especially for Amstaff products. Went to the store last week to look for a set of power tubes my trainer suggested. After five minutes of walking around the store the female employee asked me if I needed help with anything. She gave me some serious attitude right off the bat and was the most unpleasant employee I have ever had to deal with in my life. After asking me what I needed the bands for I tried to demonstrate what I needed them for and she rolled her eyes and said "ok whatever". My girlfriend turned around and walked out and I decided to just purchase the tubes and handles and get out of the store. Later that night I found out they were the wrong tubes and I was dreading going back to do a return. When I did go back the same employee was there. She referred me to the manager. The manager said "we cannot do a return because it will cost us to refund your money, but you can do an exchange." I didn't do the exchange because finding something that was the exact price of what I purchased was impossible and I would end up having to spend more money. As a business owner I know that was a lie and a way for them to generate more money because I would have to pay the balance owing. I was planning on buying a squat rack they at the end of the week but I will never spend another penny at another Fitness Depot again. read more
