My best friend has a four year old and 1.5 year old and she had received a suggestion to take them to play at Fitness Farm. This is a unique little space that has a lot of green space to play in. There is a little track, frisbee golf course, playhouse, octoball, and it looks like the garden will be going in soon. Couple of pointers- 1. There are 4 gates. Gate 2 is a where you will park to explore 2. Bring your own balls/frisbee/whatever you want. There is limited provided entertainment, but the open space is perfect to play around with. 3. This is the definition of a hidden gem in Indy. Fitness Farm is a place that is open to the community to visit and be well, but not many people know about it. Their mission statement from their website describes the farm as a place "that promotes and enhances children's and adult's health and wellness by providing a self-sufficient, multi-faceted community resource that offers event space; education and exercise programs on nutrition, fitness, and agriculture; a fully sustainable market garden for farm-to-table sales; and seasonal on-site produce stand." Yes! This place is awesome, and you need to check it out. Basically, you can come and visit when you want. You can run on the track, play tennis, play frolf (frisbee golf), walk around the grounds, play in the playhouse (if you have kids) or just come and enjoy the 20+ acres of land. All of this is for free, mind you: Fitness Farm is open to the public. This place is so great that it literally makes me want to cry. They also have yoga classes, as well as other classes pertaining to living a better life, such as cooking classes that teach you how to cook seasonally, mindfulness classes, classes that teach you about nutrition, photography and flower arranging, and lots of others. Check out their website to find out when they are offering classes. Fitness Farm is an urban farm (it's a real working farm!), and they have a CSA in the warmer months. They also have animals that you can visit year-round. We saw two huge pigs and lots of chickens and a rooster. I am in love with this place! We just threw our annual "Yelp's Fermented Funk Fest" at the Fitness Farm and not a single attendee had visited this venue before! It's definitely a hidden gem (and a surprise, as it's located in a residential area). What is the Fitness Farm you ask? It's a property owned by a family that decided to use the land to benefit the community. There is a home on this property where the owner still lives, but the rest of the property is for community use. There is a small carriage house where weekly yoga and cooking classes are held (for only about $5/class), a garden where they grow/sell vegetables, two tennis courts, a frisbee golf course, a bonfire pit, basketball hoops and wild livestock (chicken and pigs). Weddings are held outside here (there's a massive field with huge, gorgeous trees), as well as summer camps for kids, where they learn to eat healthy and enjoy exercise and the great outdoors. They were great to work with and had significant event experience. Beyond those specifics, the gates are open every day for the neighborhood and community to stop by and use the facilities. This facility was very nice and accommodating for our private party. I had never heard of Fitness Farm before, so this was a unique experience. The kitchen was perfect and the ambiance was wonderful for our party. We had plenty of space and the rest room access was perfect. We had a great time at our private party and there was plenty of parking available for our guests. I am glad our host organized this facility and rented it out for our party, because it met all expectations and we were very happy with the interior. The only thing I would recommend is to have a big sign by the road to let people know about the entrance, because it is very difficult to find at nighttime. I had to swing back a few times to find the facility because it was hard to find. Other than that, this is terrific to rent out for private parties or events. You will not be disappointed! read more

Beautiful parked tucked away a few minutes north of downtown! Fitness farm is a gorgeous quiet park that is perfect for families, walks, dogs, tennis, frisbee golf, yoga...basically anyone! This well kept secret is clean, spacious, and the definition of peaceful. Along the many paved walking trails are low impact exercise equipment (triceps drips, sit ups, etc) to switch up your workouts to be outside! Like the other reviewers I had no idea this place existed. It is pretty nice and a great foundation that has been created to foster greater community involvement in fitness and health. There are tennis courts, basketball, walking trails. Also a paved track 200 m and chickens, a doll house and fire pit. I was there for a Cub Scout event. I got to see the carriage house and it is quite nice. The grounds are freely available to enjoy and they offer rental options for weddings and other uses. I would highly recommend checking them out if you are planning an event for the carriage house and or grounds. They also offer community yoga and cooking classes.
